Subject: RS: TAN: HUMOR - How to give a cat a pill HOW TO GIVE YOUR CAT A PILL 1. Grasp cat firmly in your arms. Cradle its head on your elbow, just as if you were giving baby a bottle. Coo confidently, "Thats a nice kitty." Drop pill into its mouth. 2. Retrieve cat from top of lamp and pill from under sofa. 3. Follow same procedure as in 1, but hold cat's front paws down with left hand and back paws down with elbow of right arm. Poke pill into its mouth with right forefinger. 4. Retrieve cat from under bed. Get new pill from bottle. (Resist impulse to get new cat.) 5. Again proceed as in 1, except when you have cat firmly cradled in bottle-feeding position, sit down on edge of chair, fold your torso over cat, bring your right hand over your left elbow, open cat's mouth by lifting the upper jaw and pop the pill in - quickly. Since your head is down by your knees, you won't be able to see what you're doing. That's just as well. 6. Leave cat hanging on drapes. Leave pill in your hair. 7. If you're a woman, have a good cry. If you're a man, have a good cry. 8. Now pull yourself together. Who's the boss here anyway? Retrieve cat and pill. Assuming position 1, say sternly, "Who's the boss here, anyway?" Open cat's mouth, take pill and...Oooops! 9. This isn't working, is it? Collapse and think. Aha! Those flashing claws are causing the chaos. 10. Crawl to linen closet. Drag back large beach towel. Spread towel on floor. 11. Retrieve cat from kitchen counter and pill from potted plant. 12. Spread cat on towel near one end with its head over long edge. 13. Flatten cat's front and back legs over its stomach. (Resist impulse to flatten cat.) 14. Roll cat in towel. Work fast; time and tabbies wait for no man-or woman. 15. Resume position 1. Rotate your left hand to cat's head. Press its mouth at the jaw hinges like opening the petals of a snapdragon. 16. Drop pill into cat's mouth and poke gently. Voila! It's done. 17. Vacuum up loose fur (cat's). Apply bandages to wounds (yours). 18. Take two aspirins and lie down. >> >> Laura A. a.k.a. I've had a lot of people ask me where I got my nickname (Angelhrt).... so I suppose it's time to fess up. As many of you might/or might not know..my given name is Tyra Lynne. I've been on line now for almost 3 years..so I've had this nick for quite a while now. It was given to me by a very dear friend in Frankfurt Germany, an adopted "Brother" of sorts... I needed a nick and couldn't come up with one. Well, brother dear....started calling me Angelhrt...which translates to Angelheart (had to shorten the spelling because it was too many letters for IRC Chat) .... he said it was fitting because it was how he saw me. So my nick was never associated with rubber stamping... I dont' collect angels..(much to the suprise of many I'm sure).... and I don't collect heart images either. I would LIKE to think it's a description of me...the best possible me.... not the every day me...or the "bitchy" me....or the "mommy/wife" me.... but I would hope, it represents the best person I could ever hope to become... a person with the heart of an angel. It gives me something to aspire towards.... and it means a great deal to me because it's a name which was given to me by someone who loves me. Yes, nick names can be an "on line fancy"....but for me..it's more than that. Many many people, not just rubber stamping friends, call me Angel or Angelhrt.... however, as some of you might know if you call my house and hubby answers the phone and you ask for Angel... it takes him a few minutes to figure out WHICH angel you want....you see...my youngest daughter is also named.......Angel. Angel baby, but still Angel. SO now you know....... the rest of the story! If they are male and say that they don't use cosmetics. I ask them if they have a wife, mother, sister or aunt that does'nt have a Mary Kay Consultant. Then if they say they don't know what kind of cosmetics the ladies in their life uses. I say. Well since you called me, You have my telephone number. Would you please do me a favor and tell all of the ladies that you know that I am a licensed cosmetologist, a Mary Kay Consultant, and I offer personal skincare consultations. Oh and the ladies that you contact on the telephone in the same way you contacted me. Please tell them of my services also. Needless to say. As to the things I have to do in my life ... besides finishing my book, ball room dancing, aerobic exercises at the gym every morning, staying on top of my investment portfolio, being the CEO of one of the country's largest chocolate manufacturers, being a snowmobile stunt driver, modelling a line of clothing for the generously proportioned woman, finishing my doctrate degree, being a veteran wine taster, providing consulting services for a firm of geological engineers, writing long and loving letters to my 14 children, overseeing a dating service that has 3,873 clients worldwide, writing an advice column for troubled seniors, running a catering business that employs 27 people, teaching my cat to speak in 3 foreign languages, conducting research into what creates dusty headedness ....... and then there are the many speaking engagements to which I am invited, as President of the Ant Judy Fan Club, ... you know, now that I think of it, you're likely right ... maybe I *am* bored!! Maybe I'll go make a card for you ... but I'll need your snail addy. I hope you feel better by now. Went to Walmart here in Western Ky tonight and had to check out the clearance stamps...didn't want any of them BUT, they have lots of NEW stamp sets and single stamps...mostly for memory books, but one brand is Posh Impressions!!! I was totally excited and my DH was about to leave me there alone cause I was so giddy : ) The prices were reasonable (these stamps are foam mounted) but the prices range from around $4.00 - about $13.00! Re: Mona's "Grabbag #9 (Duplex) 90 sheets 8 1/2 x 11 duplex cardstock in a range of colors from lights to darks" -- If you haven't gotten these yet, they are a **Must Have**!! Mona, I received mine on Tuesday. (19-MO granddaughter was here thru Wed. nite, just now starting to get caught up to life!) I am _more than pleased_ with this selection! There are a few glossies (pretty pastel ylw, gray, light avocado), a light gold, a mirrored silver. Textures in sunflower ylw, soft light green. This *awesome* deep red -- it's kinda like a soft-leather look! Then the variety of heavy-duty-but-smooth colors are ... endless? It has your soft-rose pink, maroon, pale blue, sky blue, colonial blue, true blue, navy blue, gray, blk, bright ylw, autumn orange, autumn brown, fluorescent green, forest green. And remember that all these are duplexes!!! So there you have it, folks. Make sure you add to your cs collection with this wonderful grabbag from Mona (of CowPost fame). BTW, Mona, I love those little "Lite Plate Cards" also. They are going to be grrrreat for layering, I can tell they'll take well to stamping! Now, if we could just convince the rest of the country to get their mail in post office boxes, and if in doing so we wouldn't have to add more boxes to the point where a nine digit code could address them all, the problem would be solved. I'm not saying anything original about zip codes. I am as dumb as they come. I take the word of the people who run the system. If they tell me they need and use 11 digits, I'm not going to argue with them. The message I gave this morning was quoted from one of their systems analysts that runs the automation center in a major city. He gave us a step-by-step run through of all 11 digits. I feel he is credible and will accept his word on it. If anyone doubts his word, then they can give him a call. His name is Mr. O'Henry and he is in the Tacoma WA USPS service center. Unless Mr. O'Henry, and all the others in the seminars I've been attending are lying, they do use 11 digits. - --Chris McEwen reply to: Socrates Press socrates@sprintmail.com - -----Original Message----- From: Larry Anderson & Diane Hare To: Chris McEwen Cc: rubberstampers@crafts.dm.net Date: Friday, February 20, 1998 8:24 AM Subject: Re: RS: Re: More Zip Code Information >I'm having difficulty in imagining additional digits on my zip code. > >I have a post office box ... the first 5 define the post office, the >last four are the box number. > >How could it be defined further? > > Diane Hare/MS.HARE foxnhare@goldrush.com San Andreas, CA >snotmyfault This message was from "Chris McEwen" - -- The rubberstampers mailing list is proudly sponsored by the Dueling Modems Arts & Crafts Forum.
