Please Read! - Snail Mail Sign Up Info EVERYONE ============================================== I will need a few people to watch the Rubberstampers List for "Snail Mail" requests for a few weeks for me. I will have to unsub for a few weeks, I have been sick a lot lately and I am falling behind in many things. I also would like some time to concentrate in getting the SML back together and up to date to distribute before the end of March. I currently have in my Snail Add folder, 235 messages to sort through. These are adds, changes, deletes, resends, and this takes time. I can't keep up with all the hundreds of TAN's, AD's, COMM's, and accomplish this and everything else in life. I will be back!!! You wonderful people can't keep me away too long and I will miss you all very much. If there are any requests for the list or to be added could a few of you please forward these on to me directly, because I will not see them posted to the list. Thanks for reading this, please read on for more information. Cindy_Piet@juno.com PEOPLE CURRENTLY ON LIST PLEASE READ CAREFULLY ============================================== Due to my hard drive crashing in January, I am still trying to rebuild the list from a back up. If you are ALREADY ON THE LIST as of the December mailing, you DO NOT need to send in a form unless your information has CHANGED. If you have sent your info in and you have not heard back from me, I probably have the information and it is just waiting to be added for the next edition. I am hoping to get a new one out before the end of March. NEW PEOPLE READ HERE ============================================== This was a list that was started almost a 3 years ago and has been through three owners. The idea was started as people needed addresses for swaps or just wanted to do something nice once in awhile for a list member without having to actually ask them for an address. (This is NOT the same thing as the RAK list, that is put out by someone else.) The agreement was made that if you did not provide your personal information you could not have access to others, it was deemed only fair. There are currently approximately 750 people participating, some are subscribed to the list all the time, and some show up here and there periodically. If this is something you think you would like to be on, please fill out the form below and make sure that you read the disclaimer that follows so that the rules are clearly understood. If you do not receive a reply immediately do not worry, I have probably received it. With ~750 people on the list it is a very high maintenance project, and I will send you the current list as soon as it is prepared. (See above paragraph for people already on list.) I look forward to hearing from you. ======================================== Name: Company Name: NickName: Street: City: State: Zip: Country: Home Phone (optional): Work Phone (optional): Birthday: email1: email2: WebPage: Stamping Likes (This is in a database, please limit to 250 characters): You can only receive the list if you are on the list. (long) Wen, I don't know what area you live in, but I am in a large, northern, cosmopolitan city. A nice Hallmark card is about $3.50, and the American Greeting Gretta cards that you put your own wording on with a preprinted card design are about the same price, so if I did not stamp, I would definately be more than willing to pay $2.00 for a handstamped card. When I go to a stamping store, and see "standard" stamped cards, they are selling for about $1.25 and the embossed ones are about $1.50. I can understand that you do not want to scare away business, but you also have to remember if you start too low, then raise your prices, even if gradually over time, that will be noticed also, and will discourage business. I have a friend who does this and the person ordering the cards has to also pay for the cost of the stamps (unless it is one already in her inventory), paper, envelopes (which she usually has in invetory, we get these for 6 to 10 cents each, depending on color, texture and weight, in our area at a paper store) and any embellishments they want up front and give a 50% deposit. She makes several versions of the card and the person then makes a final selection, from which the the others are made. She however, keeps the stamps and left overs, partly in case the person wants more of the same, but it has also given her a nice inventory of supplies, and she sells her cards for $2.50 each after costs. She actually does quite well with this, because she does a lot of invitations. Her second biggest venture is simplistic bulk get well and thinking of you cards for local churches. Because she already has the stamps, ink and paper in stock she sells these pretty inexpensively to churches and get a lot of orders for other things from church members. Hope that helps some. Good Luck on your new venture. Deborah This message was from MRuss72650@aol.com - -- The rubberstampers mailing list is proudly sponsored by the Dueling Modems Arts & Crafts Forum. Are ya'll aware that a lot of these come from Prisons? They also do a lot of your phone services like airline reservations, etc. In Texas, they do court records, your car titles and tags. They do the Carol Wright surveys that you get in the mail.. They sav3e your cc#'s and get the info on you and use the cards when they get out, and with the surveys from Carol Wright, they know who you are, how much you make, if you are married, where you live, etc. then they stalk you in prison and when they get out........I tell anyone that calls me that I am not interested and to take my name off their list. The only reason that I even answer out of area calls is because of my son being in Germany in the Army. Now he is getting out on a medical discharge in a few weeks, so after he gets home, I won't ever answer another out of area call again.. Envelopes which >are oversized and reinforced??? > >When I can I do use their stuff, after all we paid for it. > >Jann Where are you finding the free *reinforced* stuff?? 'Cause the last two items that came here in the free Priority envelopes were barely holding together. One was Violetnut's UM round robin; there were several large rips in the envy, but since everything was in plastic baggies in the envelope nothing was lost or damaged. The other was stuffed with wallpaper samples, and half of one ENTIRE SIDE was gone. The envy was pretty full so nothing slid out, and we all know how durable wallpaper is :) so no damage done. It sucks that some of the P.O.'s won't let you tape these free envelopes, 'cause in my estimation they're pretty pathetic. Luckily everyone I've ordered cardstock from has a NICE P.O., and everything comes taped to the gills and safe and sound :) Chantal This message was from Chantal - -- The rubberstampers mailing list is proudly sponsored by the Dueling Modems Arts & Crafts Forum. I had this wonderful recipe that I always used - it was one my Mom had cut out of a newspaper one time. I remember lending the recipe to someone to copy - now I can't find it! This one had a coconut/butter/brown sugar frosting, but I will try any others out there. Fellow Addicts: - -I regret in my previous posting not to include the pricing of this great promotion. The Bakers Dozen is only $49 which includes the shipping and handling.- Now is the time for you to get your fix of one of the most awesome Rubberstamp Tools available, the Rollograph Wheel. For those of you not familiar with the Rollograph, this patented wonder consists of a handle - I prefer the self inking one - an ink cartridge which is interchangeable and comes in a variety of colors, and then of course ....THE WHEEL. The wheel fits into the handle and the stamp is adhered to these interchangeable wheels. There are over 200 wheel patterns! Rollographs are the PERFECT way to make: backgrounds for cards and projects - checkerboard, Aztec, flowers, balloons, messages and MORE! tissue paper, gift wrap gift cards, frames, notebooks, SCRAPBOOK PAGES! I am currently enamored with the Mexican border and of course "clover" which will decorate the packages going out for March. If you don't have a catalog and are still intrigued you can choose your Bakers' Dozen by themes: spring assorted weird If this is the first time you've heard about Rollographs, may I suggest the famous and popular "Wheel of Fortune" Grabbag. This grabbag consists of a handle, two ink cartridges, 3 wheels, and a catalog for ONLY 29.50! (this includes p&h) you can choose from the themes: spring, assorted, weird. I have plenty of inventory in stock, but will place an order next week Wednesday, so let me know what you *need*!
