I was just planing my swap cards for next month...thinking vellum...and what do I get hehe. I also got 2 potholders...no more burnt fingers using teatowels and no more saying ship in front of the children hehe. Then I spied 2 really nifty storage containers. One is full of alpha and heart beads like those on my valentines card received last week. One of my many sisters is due to have her first child in 2 weeks so I think these will be very useful for their card. The other is filled with silk ribbon roses in all my favourite colours. And there is a PSX Wizard stamp, a really nice realistic one. Oh and there was also a cherry snow lollipop...but thats gone allready hehe. And my SS wrote to me too. When he asked "Why me?" the vice president, who was the young man's superior, explained that he was too conservative in the way he did his job. "Things have gotten more competitive," the VP explained. "Our people have to look at things from different angles and they have to take risks. And when they take risks, they have to believe they'll succeed. That's where you come up short." For six months the young man tried to get a job and failed. Then one day he met a retired circus tightrope walker. The two had something in common--time on their hands. Before long, the unemployed executive became an accomplished tightrope walker. He became so good that he and his circus mentor were asked to participate in a televised charity event at Niagara Falls and the young man invited his former boss to attend. I'll show him who can take risks, he said. All went well at the event. The young man successfully crossed the falls on a tightrope, followed by his circus mentor, who also pushed a wheelbarrow across. The vice president congratulated the young man and then dared him to cross over the falls again, this time pushing the wheelbarrow. "You can do it if you believe you can," said the vice president. "Do you believe I can?" the young man asked his former boss. "Yes, I do," the vice president replied. "Okay," said the young man, "get in the wheelbarrow." *** mars mannix This message was from MJS - -- The rubberstampers mailing list is proudly sponsored by the Dueling Modems Arts & Crafts Forum. My uncle said he was able to talk to her before she went. 2 years ago I was in Missouri for a week...my family did a mid-west vacation. I was able to spend lots of time with my aunt and uncle while there, and I am now very thankful for that. She was a sweet, sweet lady..and she will be greatly missed. Love and sunshine always, Stampcas :) xo trying to keep her sanity as she tries to finish her job!!! One day, a cattle farmer heard one of his cows lowing out in the north forty (the mudpit behind the barn). It sounded like she was in hard labor. He went out, and, sure enough, it was a breech. He tried to turn the calf around, but it was too late--the legs were already coming out. All he could do was pull on the legs to assist in the birth. This field was right next to the interstate, and a red MG stopped, and this woman (librarian type, with the glasses and bun) jumped out and said, "Is there anything I can do to assist?" The farmer said, "Yes, please! Grab a leg and pull!" So they both pulled, and they were able to get the calf out. The farmer, very grateful, said, "Wait a minute while I run back and get my wallet--I owe you for this." "Oh, no, I wouldn't dream of accepting any recompense for this service. Along a similar line (hubbys spending our stamping money *ggg*) my DH is rebuilding his grandfather's old 1955 Chevrolet. He started out saying *it will only cost $300 to get it running* well 3 wks and $600 later it still doesn't run(actually the engine is in perfect shape, but it still needs other parts for it ) and still needs tires, brakes, battery, sandblasted, body work, primering, painting, and oodles of other stuff! grrrrrrrrr I am soooo ticked at him right now. He is the type of person who doesn't want to stop until it is done...and I can't seem to convince him that it doesn't have to be completed today...he should take his time and make it perfect, and so that we don't run out of money all at once! Hi Sheryl I don't know about the U.S.A., but when I worked at the PO in S.A., we used to have a service called small parcel post. The weight could have been from 100g - 2kg. You filled in a little green slip and marked it as a gift. This then went by airmail, and the people on the other side did not pay customs. It was also cheaper then any other way. I hope I might of been of some help, although things can work different in your country. I thought you might want to save a copy of this. There is the part that says well talk about our families ect...........So if you have a problem with that perhaps you need to find a strictly non-intamate message board-I know there are some. I don't know of many people here that havent posted personal things( carple tunnel, menopause, hubbies going threw mid life chrisis, computter problems, post office problems, jokes, ect. ect. ect.) I personally like to know the hearts of the people that I send stuff to, that way when I am making something for them hopefully it can reach out and touch their heart....Bless their soul, mend a break. I can think about them and their heart and life as I make something espessially for that person..........without knowing a person there is no love, commeradery......the giver and the gift are flat and meaningless. I like to think about what i could make to bless the individual who is recieving. I have gone on long enough. Take it to heart or with a grain of salt........it's up to you.
