Last week I was putting some product on the shelves that came in in some mini bubble wrap. Kathy McCaffrey sent a gorgeous card: Gold CS with vellum overlay with two large roses stamped on the vellum; the rose was embossed in gold on the front and colored on the reverse side; very elegant. Sandy Lemmons sent a postcard: glossy white CS brayered with a rainbow pad and embossed with clear EP as the background for a beautiful, gold embossed, long-stemmed rose, with the message Roses and Rainbows; a very lovely card. Robin Cramer stamped four small roses encircled in green wreaths in the corners of white CS. In the center was a single red rose embossed with glitter EP on white handmade paper cut in a diamond shape, layered over dark red paper; the edges of the white diamond were embossed in gold. I love your card, Robin. (BTW, I just sent you a package. Hope it gets to you OK.) Carolyn (lckearns@) used glossy white CS stamped with small roses as background. Over this was layered blue mulberry paper and black CS stamped with a long-stemmed rose. The rose was embossed in silver, and the black CS was cut into a freehand oval with a ripple edge. The inside of the card had a silver-embossed message and another rose. This is a very beautiful card. Marie (begg@) also used glossy white CS with overlapping squares of dark pink and light pink stamped with two entwined hearts and roses. A 3-dimensional look was achieved by mounting three of the roses on foam. A bow of rose-colored ribbon in one corner gave a nice finishing touch to this very pretty card. Our store is the smallest in the city. I have heard that they have been talking about remodeling for years-it's in a pretty wealthy neighborhood. Now they are waiting for Hobby Lobby to decide where they are going first. Go figure- no doubt so they can build one next door. The new Jo Annes Ect. moved in down the street....it's a beautiful store. Even with the higher prices everyone loves to go there because they have everything(almost). It's clean and well stocked. I personally think they realy hurt us during the hollidays, and I said so, and was laughed at. I think if they wait to long they wont have a buisiness to move. Just my opinion as a lowely employee. - ---CrabyKitty wrote: > > In a message dated 98-02-27 18:25:30 EST, eburnette@mindspring.com writes: > > << But can you make something close to this (brandishing the swag) with these > flowers and these leaves? >> > > ROFL, Lisa!! Subject: Re: RS: Tan:Stay-at-home Moms I gotta say something here (when have I ever not!). My mom was a stay at home mom for a while, I remember day care with thousands of kids going home with me after school and summers too. Then things changed and she had to go back to work. And you know what? We all (well most of us did anyway) turned out okay. I'm not saying this to put-down stay-at-home moms, but sometimes I feel like the working mom's get nothing but guilt trips. I always knew my mom loved me, even when she was tired and cranky. My mom & dad both worked hard to give us what we wanted. I had a pony in kindergarten...later in middle school and high school I had horses again and did a lot of showing, lessons etc. That was what I wanted to do. I didn't so much care if mom & dad where around after school, but those weekends and evening that were devoted to us kids and our horse activities, well, It took a lot of time and a lot of money, money we didn't always have. Looking back I realize that they made a lot of sacrifices to keep us happy and now I know enough to appreciate it. Often my mom sighs and says something like "Oh, when I think of all the things you didn't have as a child" My response is usually that I always had the important stuff. I'm not sure what my brothers & sister remember, but we had a pretty good childhood and no doubt that our parents loved and cared about us. Anyway, I just wanted to say to the moms that need or want to work while raising their children...its okay, love them lots and they'll grow up just fine. I did! Phew, didn't mean to jump up on that soapbox! p.s. Mom, you're still the greatest! And I'm not just saying that to get more stamp stuff out of you! Laura A. a.k.a. I have yet to go to Michaels and get service other than rude and non-existent. My favorite is when they have something on sale....never have it in the computer so it rings up as regular price. Of course cashier can't correct the problem cuz she doesn't do refunds. I just decided finally enough is enough....
