The first one was from Kathy Felix - a wonderful bookmark with John 3:16 on it (she got the stamp from me :)! and also an insert for a card - a really nice saying that she`stamped and embossed with irridescent ep. Thanks, Kathy - - I hope to get to see you when we get to Washington! Next, a really neat card from Debbie C.! We were chatting one night at Evo's, and she found out about my husband having to go away to work for a few months, and she was so sweet to send me a card! Such a neat card with so many different methods used - layered on black cardstock is a cream colored card stamped all over with white and yellow daisies - and what looks like possibly copper ink sponged on it too - then another piece of black cardstock, and another piece of cream cardstock - and on this one she sponged the copper ink and stamped an elegant 'D', and on top of this is a shrink plastic charm using the same stamp. And to add even more to the card is a gold charm hanging from one of the smaller pieces of cardstock - a gold daisy! Debbie, you really did brighten my day - thanks so much! It is so wonderful to get rak's in the mail - I have a few to send out myself this next week - I hope to pass along some of the happiness sent my way! Point your web browser at http://crafts.dm.net/ . - - ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 28 Feb 1998 00:22:54 -0800 From: Shaunna Frasure Subject: RS: Teatime Swap Cards Received!!=) (long) I got my swap cards today from the teatime swap, and I am really impressed: From Dot McQuade-Magenta Teacup Frame stamp, watercolored with pencils I believe, with a Postoid stamp of two teacups with T*4*2 on it stamped in pastel rainbow pad with hologram embossing powder all over the top mounted to pop out in the middle of the frame stamp which is also mounted on dark green cardstock. I love that Magenta stamp! Beautiful card Dot! From Diana Stagg-On parchment pale blue cardstock she stamped the Mostly Animals crinkle background stamp in pink (I think?) and popped up the blue stacked Teacups from Stampendous on top with the wording from Love You to Bits that says around the teacups embossed in gold: "Time to Catch up with me...over a cup of tea!" She also used 3-D Crystal laquer on the flowers in the teacup pattern and flowers on side of cups. I really like this one! From Debbie Popish-Using the wonderful teacup set from Stampin Up! she has created a simple but oh so elegant card using vellum. First white glossy cardstock she stamped the little pansy and lazy susan flower stamp from the set for a backgound type pattern in purple, then she layered vellum over by punching two small holes in top and tying a gold cord through it. On the vellum she embossed the teacup in gold and just colored in the pansy on the cup, and then the saying "Friendship begins with a cup of kindness" and of course through all this you can faintly see the backgound floral pattern through the vellum. I have this set and appreciate the wonderful idea for using it!=) From Sue Middleton- On black glossy cardstock she used the Cherry teapot and tea cup stamps by Print Works and colored those in bright red and yellow plus used 3-D crystal laquer to enhance the black dots and cherries and leaves, wonderful contrast to the black cardstock, she popped these up on a triangular paper doily with a piece of red cardstock cut out with deckle scissors with Tea for Two(Renaissance stamp) stamped on it and mounted below teapot and cups. I very bright and cheery(or Cherry!! LOL)card, love it!=) From Karen Keolker-Humorous card with Stamps by Rubber Monger. Frog legs are all you see of the frog who has jumped into the tea/coffee cup, too cute! She has mounted this cut out over a piece of white cardstock that has faint little stamps of teapots and teacups all over it for a background, then this is mounted on a mint green piece fo cardstock. Really fun!=) This is the best swap cards I've received since the House Mouse Swap. I've really enjoyed it, thanks to Eva for hostessing and thanks you all for all the wonderful cards! I heard that they were able to shoot him with a tranquillizer gun and move him back out to the countryside. On the other hand, one of my most prized possessions is a decorative moose toy. It's got four thick dowels for legs, a big round ball of brown fake fur for a body, and a felt-and-fur moose face. Best of all, when you turn it upside down and then right it, it moooooos at you. Must have a bladder inside, but there's something about that moo that makes you smile (and it really does sound like the mooses in the documentaries). When a member of the family gets really down about something, someone hands them my moose so that they can make it moo. The internet is essentially without regulation or control of any kind. You can read the spam header to find out where the obscene mail is coming from and then go to the originating ISP to have their account closed. Unfortunately, at this time it is easy to forge the header information on email so that you don't really know where it came from. Also, since having their account closed has happened to the porno spammers so many times before, most have become their own ISP. In that case, you're complaining to the fox about someone eating your chickens. The next level of help may not be quick but will probably be more effective in the long run and involves Congress. It is a federal crime to spam fax machines and those who do can be prosecuted. If internet standards are tightened to reduce forging (it is already in the works) and spamming becomes illegal, then the ISP's will have greater interest in controlling the problem lest they become part of the problem and face the resulting fines. In the interim, the thought of coming federal regulation may be enough to get the responsible ISP's motivated to put serious, concerted effort in protecting you. Their efforts today will be their only way to argue against federal law tomorrow and there is a growing ground swell demanding such protection. - --Chris McEwen reply to: Socrates Press socrates@sprintmail.com - -----Original Message----- From: MaltShake9@aol.com Date: Friday, February 27, 1998 1:06 PM Subject: RS: Re: RubberTown: Where can I report... >I've complained to aol about porn ads, but I haven't gotten a good answer >yet.
