Balonis" Subject: RS: Trick Cards Received HI All Wow did this swap work out well!!! I'm thrilled with all of the cards!! Joey sent a valentine as a hidden message. Only this one pulls down from the bottom. Great card and very well done. She dry embossed the corners of the card, mounted a cute girl on the front and you pull down to read the message. Mona did a traditional Hidden message card in a valentine theme. It has a pretty kitty ont he cover, is out of red and white cs. It is adorable with a kitty theme - youre purrfect for me. Carole Mork did a beautiful flip flop card. this one is simple yet elegant and a wonderful trick. A single piece of cardstock that is cut and folded so that when you pull open the center flips open to the message. Pretty embossed and colored roses on one side and get well on the other. No name was a valentine that kind of opens like a paper bag. Hard to describe these. This one has a valentine on the front and is folded in such a way that when it sits open a little heart is suspended and hangs from the top and it stands on the base. Sandy Lane (Our hostess - thanks to you!!!) did a beautiful scene with kids and flowers. This one is folded in such a way that when you pull it open a message pops up. In this case it says Happy thoughts to you. This one is great. I can see lots of these comming. This one also looks very easy and very effective. Can't wait to play. This one is really great. Stamperella did a fancy constructed card that changes the image when you open the card. The card opens from the bottom. Inside it changes from a cattapiller to a butterfly. REally great!! Love this one too. This looks easier to do that some other compley changing images that I have seen. Thanks Sandy, thanks so much for hostessing. Violetnut This message was from "Marcia L. There are a number of companies that will *not* ship catalogues to Canada, and also the cost - by the time you multiply the original price by approx. $1.45 (our dollar isn't worth much compared to the US dollar! ) they are also prohibitively costly for Newbies to the art of rubberstamping to buy. For example: A catalogue that costs $6.00 in US dollars to get, costs $8.70 , plus the extra postage charge to Canada. THAT same $8.70 could buy me a rubber stamp - a small one, but a stamp. :-( I love looking at the catalogues for ideas, (Yep - I'm THAT new at it), and would gladly reimburse you for postage on any catalogues you're going to toss, when you get the current year's. PLEASE contact me, and I will give my snail address. I even have access to a US address, which would make the mailing even cheaper (AND faster). Thanks VERY much! A really cute Disney explosion card that locks in the front with "Mickey heads" I liked the way you did a tri-fold with the explosion card rather than the usual opening. I also like the background that was done in spirials. I always forget to make a background and it really makes the card look more complete. Sandy Lane... A card with an outdoor scene and when you pull the sides a message pops up from the middle. Sandy, you have such good ideas! Stamperella... A card that changes into a butterfly. Thank you for the clear instructions. This was a very complex design and you really did it justice. Mona Everett... A kitty card that has a woven checkerboard in it. I gotta argue the decent prices thing.. at least on some stuff. I'll give you the rest of it! but on some things, they have beyond decent prices.. have you noticed that even with their best discount, our vendors can't offer us le plume II's for what michaels sells them for? every day? and a while back someone was offering the fiskars trimmer, the big one, discounted! and was 50some bucks.. what are they at michaels now, 24.99 every day.. even when they were 40 bucks, ya couldn't do better except at costco (which isn't an option in south carolina). I think I'd rather have a hobby lobby.. MOF, I think what would be the ideal situation would be to have a michaels and a hobby lobby and a pearl and an mj designs (they got the best stickers) all on the same stretch of road! but sheesh.. have you ever been in an old america?? heh.. the old america round here makes michaels look like.. um.. it's the difference between jamesway and nordstroms! they're the best gig in town.. I can't knock 'em too much.. despite the fact I've been trying for 7-8 weeks to squander my coupon on one of those little fiskars trimmers, and they've only had 'em once in that time (when I didn't have a coupon!). we'll get in synch eventually.. they *always* had 'em when I didn't want one.. rofl! anno This message was from "anno" - -- The rubberstampers mailing list is proudly sponsored by the Dueling Modems Arts & Crafts Forum.
