One of my favorite techniques for backgrounds has been to paint watercolor directly on the stamps. I had been doing this and then applying the interference watercolors on top for some amazing effects. Today I painted the rubber and then added some metallic bronze Pearl Ex with my finger to the paint on the stamp and got a real mottled metallic effect on the paper... The image still came out clearly watercolor and the blending of the highlights was very subtle.....How fun!!!! I received some very beautiful cards from the following people... Linda Hengen (LindaLoo) A very pretty card done on textured off white cardstock... On the front, it's layered. A pretty geometrical pieces of fancy paper in earth tones...on top of that another piece of very light (almost woodsy in feel) specialty paper, with a mother and baby elephant embossed in a copper EP.... to the sides of the mother/baby elephant and embossed over the tops of the specialty paper are what appears to be some sort of tree, also embossed in copper EP...this is LOVELY..... thank you Linda!!!! I like that canadian postal stamp with the tiger on it... I've saved that for my children to put with the postal stamp collection.. Paula Panart (Rubbearheart) sent an absolutely stunning card done on white glossy cardstock. It's the morning glory stamp by PSX...and she's used some sort of glitter glue maybe on th petals of the flower which is colored in blues (markers I think) A soft lighter blue ribbon is tied thru the middle and the sides are eged with paper edgers...she's used a darker blue marker to color in the off set edge. On the inside it says "Follow your dreams for they hold endless possibilities"...I will keep this very much in mind Paula... I have a dream...maybe soon I can share it with all of you!!! THANK YOU Paula!!! K.C. Reshel (who is an independent demonstrator in Greenville, WI!!!!) sent me a very pretty card with matching envy. Matte white cardstock, with little roses in each corner and a connecting line between each of them. layered and raised in the middle are two pieces of cardstock trimmed with paper edgers... it says.."Life without friends is like a garden without flower." LOVE this.... embossed in black EP and it looks very soft, as if colored with chalks??? The inside of the card is left blank, with a note telling me to use the card again if I like...THANK YOU K.C.!!!! He too is amazed at how many times our orders come up wrong. I am a fussy eater, I'll admit it! I order a Quarter Pounder meal most of the time -- and I want it without cheese and plain. That is the way I order it. How do they manage to screw that up???? The last two times I have eaten there, there have been problems. The first time in question, I ordered it plain and without cheese -- explain to my why there was a rogue piece of lettuce on it and it tasted like onions. yesterday, I ordered it, the little slip said it right and it came with cheese. I take it back (luckily I was dining in because you just can't get the cheese off), the make me a new one and bring it out to me. I open it up to add a little salt and what do I find but a small corner of a cheese slice. Good thing I just don't like the cheese on my burger and I'm not allergic! Back when he worked there (and I worked at Burger King and it was the same more or less), you were taught when doing order taking, that you get the drinks first and leave the sandwich and fries until both are ready so that nothing gets too cold. Point these things out to the manager while you are there and I am sure he will do something about it. At least here they do. We called and complained a few months ago after arriving home with an incorrect order from drive through and we ended up getting a free meal out of it the next time we were there. I guess the bottom line is that if the managers don't know that there is a problem, there is nothing they can do about it. If enough people complain about terrible service or screwed up orders, maybe something will get done about it. If it's a service problem, make sure to tell the manager the name of the employee -- it's not doing the manager any good to have a crappy employee serving customers. They can keep the crappy servers and make them do clean up or make burgers or something (but then again, do we want these people who are so rude at the counter making our food instead????) I enjoy eating at McDonald's and so do my kids, so I make sure to speak up when something is wrong. Usually they have tried to right the wrong. nancy - --------------C742A463B148AC126FF647AA Content-Type: text/html; charset=us-ascii Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit My hubby worked for Mickey D's as a teenager and loved working there.

If it's a service problem, make sure to tell the manager the name of the employee - -- it's not doing the manager any good to have a crappy employee serving customers.  They can keep the crappy servers and make them do clean up or make burgers or something (but then again, do we want these people who are so rude at the counter making our food instead????)
