We are ready to ship as soon as payment is received. As a reminder, we have three mounted bags of 10 for $15.00. Thanks to the generosity of a number of list vendors along with the equally generous contribution of list members and others, we will have a number of these grab bags available once again. There are at least 20 UM's per bag, in various sizes. Some are slightly used, but most are new. The cost is $10.00 per bag, plus $3.00 for priority shipping (can send at least three bags in one envelope). Canadian orders, please add $1.00 additional. All other countries please email us for shipping charges. Once again, the proceeds of this sale go to pounding down the medical bills for Giggles. After all, she keeps paying, but the doctors and hospitals keep billing her for what we hope will be her final round of treatments. Wouldn't that be nice?????? Hi all, since we've been hearing so many great reviews about "Ria's Antique Postcards" CD Rom, sold by Phil Schloss. We thought a SWAP using these images would be nice. So get creative and make cards using these images and adding stamps and/or embellishments. It would be a 5/5 swap, and one extra card for the hostess would be greatly appreciated, since these will get scanned and put on Phil's internet site!!! So if you want to get famous, here's your chance!! Due date is: March 28 , 1998 This leaves you plenty of time to order a CD Rom if you don't have it yet and still want to play!! I want to keep this swap small, as it is my first time hosting!! So, I would like to have no more than 10 players!! (I might be persuaded to add a few more ;-) Also, I want you to note that I live in the Netherlands. This means extra postage. Please include US$ 3.00 in cash (no postage stamps please) and a Self Adressed Mailing Label. Well ... hey, you have a bunch of people who did these directory pages, invested some of *our* time and *our* money ... and we *all* have commitments in our lives. And, maybe someone else *should* host the next time around .... this one seemed to be operating at less than peak efficiency for quite some time. Why were we told that there were approx. 100 players, and that we should send 100 copies ... mine cost me 25 cents each ... and I'm not on an unlimited income either. I would like to have known that 50 would have been sufficient ... and if you weren't planning to return the extras ... *why* were the players told to send 100? And - yes - I would like to have my extra pages back. I already sent you $5 for this ... and it only cost $3.42 for you to send the ones you did ... the $5 would have covered it if you had returned my extras with the ones from the other stampers. If $3.42 was the cost to mail these, and all 50 +/- participants sent you $5.00 each ... you should have had about $79.00 left over. No, I did not write to you privately. This matter involves 50 +/- list stampers, and this discussion is surely as important to the participants and any futher (directory page) players as anything else I've seen on here. Geezzzzz. Ant Judy H. >>I didn't arbitrarily decide to include the pages with the next round. I was going to ask each participant that played this round if they wanted their pages contributed the next round. I never thought about giving a choice of unused pages. The fact that you asked showed me something I hadn't thought about. If it had been something stated in the beginning of the round, then I would have sent those in the priority packages as well. The reason for the cost is because I am on a low income lifestyle and cannot afford to all of a sudden send out a bunch of papers that we hadn't thought about sending back to each recipient. I wish you had asked me in more detail about this before sending it to the list. I am a tad bit upset that we had a communication problem and that you took it this way. I'm sorry that the pages got wet, I was in a hurry to send them out and am in the middle of a tough time right now with impending finals...maybe I should think about someone hostessing the next round. I am not too happy right now. Jessica ... I *wondered* what happened to the extra **54** pages that I sent ... and which cost me an extra $13.50 to photocopy. Send more postage to get them back? I should think Jessica would have money left over from what I sent for postage already.... With photocopying and postage these directory pages have cost me in excess of $30 ... never again - it would have been worth it, if there had been 100 players as we were advised at the beginning. And then, the swap out was delayed because of late arrivals ... did 50+ never arrive at all?? That's over half.... Jessica ... would you be kind enough to advise me if you will send back my extra pages.... if they are to be sent out to newbies, I'd like to that myself ... as they are *my* pages. I am pleased that those who sent directory pages, really put a lot into them ...every one is different, and reflective of the tastes and talents of their owner. Ant Judy H. - --------------------snip-------------------- >>Unlike the last round of the directory, where we were given a choice whether to get our unused pages back or let them be forwarded to the next hostess, it appears that Jessica has decided to keep the pages to send to others. This is without any consultation with us, to whom the pages belong. After receiving my package yesterday, which came in a Tyvek priority mailer with no plastic bag, (yep, they had gotten wet along the way - wonder what happened to the big ziplock bags I sent my pages in?), I queried Jessica about the missing pages. The following is her message: >>If you really want your pages back, then yes please send an envelope along with the postage. I was hoping to be able to send some of your pages to the newbies that are joining for the next round. This way, they can get some ideas of the old timers who played. But they are your pages, so you do what you want with them.<< We sent in close to 100 pages and received back fewer than half that many. While it wouldn't have cost a cent more to send us back our unused pages, we now have to send postage again to reclaim them. I am posting this to the list so that anyone who sent the full number of pages in and didn't get them back, will know what they have to do to get them. - -- jhone "Tilting at windmills hurts you more than the windmills." It has meant a lot to me over the years and I thought I'd pass it on to the list. I was in a NOAA managers course and the instructor, who was a psychologist, was talking about how to respond to others and to ourselves when someone really angers us or even hurts our feelings. He said: "Anytime we let anyone really get to us, make us angry or hurt our feelings, we are in fact giving them control of ourselves." He continued with: " I don't know about you all, but I don't believe that any of those SOBs are worthy to take control of my life, my feelings, my attitude ..." Those were golden words to me and have helped me a lot -- I just refuse to let anybody make me that angry.
