At our local stamp meeting last night a good friend of mine was talking about English dark chocolate KitKat candy bars. He, evidently, thinks they are the best-ever. I said I *know* some stampers in England and said I would post. I am willing to trade exotic paper for dark chocolate kit kat candy bars if anyone is interested. Please email me with the cost, including air mail postage to Wisconsin and I will let you know how much exotic paper I could trade (I'll be generous!). I'm not sure how big these bars are (guess if they come in different sizes, big would be the best deal!), but I could see getting at least a dozen big ones, more small ones. Thanks! Sita is the Arabic word for grandmother so there are tons of Sitas on my mother's side of the family and she's a Sita now herself. They use their first names to distinguish between each other so it doesn't get confusing...Sita Almaz, Sita Alonkia, etc. And the grandfathers are Gidas but we never used their first names cuz they were loud and scary and we mostly avoided them. Great grandmothers on my mother's side get to be Big Sitas. None of the Gidas ever live long enough to become Big Gidas. I guess the Arabic word for 'great' is too much of a mouthful to teach the younguns so they just went with 'big', I dunno. Anyway, go back to your family's heritage and see if you like the words for grandmother. When I was growing up, my friends all thought it was cool that I had a Sita and Gida, they'd never heard those words before. And they could never remember how to pronounce them so they'd call them Chitty and Bang Bang. Jayson is back from Russia and he managed to survive. It was a horrible trip, one that he hopes he doesn't ever have to repeat. I think if he had been able to visit Moscow or do some sightseeing in a more tourist friendly area it would have been a better experience. He was staying at a camp in the middle of a frozen desert at the northern tip of the Caspian Sea. It stayed around -10 degrees with a nice breeze blowing through the bunk where he slept. The food was completely inedible and he lost 15 pounds in 9 days. Fish by-product was a popular dish for the Russians. He said it was all rolled up like a fishy Ho-Ho. I need to find a recipe for something that looks similar but tastes better so I can surprise him with it :) He ate a bowl of porridge every morning and the peanut butter crackers and candy bars I sent. The people were rude, arrogant and generally depressing to be around. He didn't run into any political trouble but getting through customs in Kazakhstan was a trip. All it requires is cash. You can have a bomb strapped to your forehead and breeze through customs if you grease enough palms. On the upside, they did put him up in a nice hotel for one night on his way back and he bought me a beautiful hand-embroidered Turkish vest and one of those gorgeous wooden nesting dolls for Taylor. Then he won $500 in a casino at the Amsterdam airport playing dollar slots. I think we should put casinos in all our airports here. Maybe a slot machine on the bathroom doors where you'd have to play to pee. Ah, well...in a perfect world maybe. Thanks again! I usually wait til I have at least 5 swappers before making it official, but if I don't get that many, I never cancel. Instead I email everyone and tell them how many are interested and we can swap among ourselves or even just do a 1:1 with each of them. I am never willing to pass on an opportunity to see others' work and there is no necessary number for me to try!!
