He referred to the dates on her tombstone from the beginning...to the end. He noted that first came the date of her birth and spoke of the following date with tears, but he said what mattered most of all was the dash between those years. For that dash represents all the time that she spent alive on earth, and now only those who loved her know what that little line is worth. For it matters not, how much we own; the cars, the house, the cash. What matters is how we live and love and how we spend our dash. So think about this long and hard, are there things you'd like to change? For you never know how much time is left. (You could be at "dash mid-range.") If we could just slow down enough to consider what's true and real, and always try to understand the way other people feel. And be less quick to anger, and show appreciation more and love the people in our lives like we've never loved before. If we treat each other with respect, and more often wear a smile, remembering that this special dash might only last a little while. So, when your eulogy is being read with your life's actions to rehash... would you be pleased with the things they say about how you spent your dash? - ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ - --------------------------------------------- _____________________________________________________________________ You don't need to buy Internet access to use free Internet e-mail. They were all so beautiful. Lisa Mallette~this card is gorgeous!!!! It is on red card stock with a glitter border. Next is gold crumpled paper layered on the red card stock and on top of that is some soft, wispy looking cotton substance. Not sure what it is. Then she embossed a gold tea cup on red paper. Very elegant. The corners were also rounded with a decorative rounder. Natasha Laity~ She used black cardstock and layered a pretty piece of marbled paper in blues and mauves on to it. On top of the marbled paper is a stamped image of a moon and below the moon is a tea cup embossed in white. Very cool. Vburow?~ a card made out of glossy white card stock layered with pink paper and white mulberry. On top of that is an image of a tea cup and saucer colored with markers. Pretty. Karen Keolker~ She made her card on mint green card stock, and layered it with white paper with tea images stamped on it. It also had a green edge on it. Then she stamped an image of a frog jumping into a tea cup and colored it with markers. On the inside it says, yummy...green tea. She also enclosed a packet of tea. Thanks. My sister in law would love this one because she loves frogs. moovis?~ she embossed an image that says friendship is so cozy and it has a picture of a tea pot and tea cups onto yellow card stock. Have you got a card or background laying around that isn't finished cause you aren't sure what the heck to do with it? Maybe the color isn't right, or you just aren't thrilled with it? If so...how 'bout a "One person's junk another person's treasure" swap? This will be a 1 on 1 swap. Take a card or background that you think looks terrible but not bad enough to throw away. Send it to the person you are partnered with...she'll send you her card in return. Now take the card/background you were sent and turn it into a masterpiece! When you have made it a masterpiece send it back to the person you are partnered with so they can keep it and see that no creation is hopeless *G*. Any players? If so, please send me your name, snail addy, and email addy (in that order) to make copy/pasting easier. I will then pair you up with someone else! When you receive the newly "finished" masterpiece please describe it to the list, saying what it looked like before (when you hated it *ggg*) and what it looks like now (after your partner in creativity finished it up!) Dawn M----this is my first time hosting a swap on this list, but I have done many on the PAFun list : ) This message was from "Dawn M" - -- The rubberstampers mailing list is proudly sponsored by the Dueling Modems Arts & Crafts Forum. With a timid voice and idolizing eyes, >the little boy greeted his father as he returned from work. >Greatly surprised, but giving his boy a glaring look, the father said: >"Look, sonny, not even your mother knows that. Don't bother me now, I'm >tired." >"But, Daddy, just tell me please! How much do you make an hour?" the boy >insisted. >The father, finally giving up, replied: "Twenty dollars per hour." >"Okay, Daddy. Could you loan me ten dollars?" the boy asked. >Showing his restlessness and positively disturbed, the father yelled: >"So that was the reason you asked how much I earn, right? Go to sleep and >don't bother me anymore!" >It was already dark and the father was meditating on what he said and was >feeling guilty. Maybe, he thought, his son wanted to buy something. Finally, >trying to ease his mind, the father went to his son's room. >"Are you asleep, son?" asked the father. >"No, Daddy. Why?" replied the boy, partially asleep. >"Here's the money asked for earlier," the father said. >"Thanks, Daddy!" rejoiced the son, while putting his hand under his pillow and >removing some money. >"Now I have enough! Now I have twenty dollars!" the boy said to his father, >who was gazing at his son, confused at what his son had just said.
