If I botch this up maybe someone will come to the rescue. You glue several thicknesses of brown paper bags together so your piece is relatively sturdy. Use white craft glue applied evenly with a cardstock squeegie. Cut out your design...say a leaf. Coat the leaf, front and back, generously with white craft glue. The Aleenes Tacky Glue works well. Hold the leaf over a lit candle so the flame burns the glue. You want to make sure that the leaf is completely covered with glue because you want to burn glue, not paper. When it's all burned, wipe off the residue and paint or decorate as desired. I think a patina finish is nice....that greenish paint with bronze accents. Some vertigree embossing powder applied over corn huskers lotion would look good on these too. The corn huskers lotion will give a little more dimension to the embossing than regular embossing ink. Like I said, I can't remember exactly, but I think this is close. If you burn down your house trying to follow my instructions, I cannot be held responsible and you should contact my attorney directly. SSS I'm just sitting in my recliner, minding my own business.... when the mail truck pulled into my driveway.. I know what that means... A PACKAGE...... And guess who it was from.... my SSS... What fun... and so early in the month... Thankyou Betsy (The Rubber Chicken Lady) for remailing my package... Ok, ok, on to the good stuff... I went running for the scissors to get into my pkg... I opened it up first to find Valentine Blow Pops... LOL... 6 of the them... My kids and husband have been fighting over them... (personally, I really enjoyed those cow things from last month... YUMMY) and some heart candies.. I'm not sharing those.. There was a beautiful deep purple with gold splattered through it envelope... SSS, did you make this.. Was it tissue paper ironed on to freezer wrap??? I just love the purple paper... Oh yes, and to answer your question.. yes there is lots of water up here.. If you look on a Michigan map, I live on Lake Michigan... Theres just too much snow at the moment... Yes, I have a corrugator.. My mom brought me one at Christmas.. I love it.. I really don't wear much jewelry.. I seem to always have one kid or another grabbing at things and found it safer not to wear earrings or any other kind jewelry anymore.. LOL.. We actually have 2 pets.... Mickey, our cocker spaniel and Cuddles the hamster... After reading the wonderful letter, I looked to find so many packages to unwrap.. Everything was wrapped in valentines tissue paper or pretty flowered wrapping paper.. First I opened up lavender heart confetti and some very cool valentine confetti.. I just love confetti... I got a stack of heat sensitive cardstock... Hmmmm, I'm gonna have to play with this... I also received some wonderful corrugated paper.. in gold and pink... This will be great for layering... I got a very cool stamp roller... with a green ink filler and a roller with cobblestones... This will really, really come in handy.. I can think of a ton of things to do with it already.. Next was a Spouncer.. this is great for doing backgrounds.. I love it... Next was a package of 20 paper bears that I can stamp on or use for layers.. very neat... There were 2 magnetic frames for the fridge.. I have the kids school pictures ready to go up... great idea... Now here is a really great idea.. I love using the sponge wedges for shading with my markers.. I only have 2 or 3, and they are getting really worn out.. Well, my SSS sent me a pkg of 24 makeup sponge wedges.. What a great idea.. Its the same thing.. Geez, why didn't I think of that.. I then opened up a little pkg and it is a stamped on matchbox.. Too cute.. inside is the cutest little heart stamp that is mounted on a little wooden heart.. I can't wait to try this... I can't forget the bottle of Metallic Medley EP... It looks really cool... I've never seen it before.. This will be a fun night of playing... I opened a package a box of tea... My daughter is clamoring to try this... Then there were 2 little homemade envelopes... made out of very pretty paper... in the first envelope there were the cutest homemade kitty magnet.. which has already found a home on the fridge and a brass stencil.. I love it.. I have just recently discovered brass stencils and think they are great.. This is one of a fisherman... Too cute... In the 2nd envelope was a beautiful leaf for embellishing and a package of green powder with a label that says "sage puffs".... Help, what is it??? what do I do with it???? SSS, thank you once again for being so generous.... I thoroughly enjoyed going through this wonderful package. I can truly see how much thought and care you put into each package... I hope all is well with you and yours.. Take care... A no name card was a window on wallpaper with a scene behind the window..really beautiful. Stampin Sis, Cathy did the same thing with her credits and the card was layered with a cute little kitty on it with the saying Thinking of You..The corners were edged very pretty too I might add. The next card by Cindy Piet was layered with an ear of corn that looked good enough to eat... And last but not least...that Violetnut...she sure can make explosion cards...it was so beautiful inside with paper flowers and embossing.
