I was just doing this last night. Fabrico will never dry. You have to heat set it. The way to do this on shrink plastic is to stamp it and then hold your heat gun waaaay back and move it a lot. If you see the plastic start to curl before the ink is dry (it sort of changes color a little so you can tell when it's dry), move the heat to another section or off the plastic entirely. Once the ink is dry, move your heat in closer and start shrinking the plastic. Cheers!!! Christine This message was from "Christine L. They gave me 425-643-4333 for the store in Bellevue--just wondering if they have the Xyron machine there. Are there different sizes of these. Someone was selling at my stamp group for $179 which seems awfully expensive. It's a great machine, just don't think I could justify spending that much. Thought I saw them for a lot cheaper, also does anyone know about the small laminators that were advertised for $20. What are these? If anyone can give me answers to these questions, I'd sure appreciate it Thanks, Eileen I have wept in the night for the shortness of sight that to somebody's need made me blind; But I never have yet felt a tinge of regret for being a little too kind. _____________________________________________________________________ You don't need to buy Internet access to use free Internet e-mail. I'd like *your* blow-by-blow description. What did you use to flatten the Promat? It has a somewhat uneven dimension which I find much more appealing than simply a plain flat surface. Did you dust the Promat with baby powder before you stamped as suggested in the article -- or . . . ? Did you use pigment ink on your stamp? What did you use to make the squiggly lines? It looks like a fine coiled wire. How did you get the gold Pearl Ex to adhere to the impressed images only and not the surface of the clay? And what did you use to seal the Promat? We had folks from the RS list, as well as the Print Artist Lovers list...great combo! Below are the items I rcvd...either as extras for moi or cards that I ended up getting in the swap (cuz I played also). From Mary Taylor....A wonderful shaker card. Mary used a nice verse on the inside of the card, and a very pretty flower border. There is also a little ribbon and button mounted on the corner, with little white paper spots for the "shakies". Thanks much Mary!! From Kathy Felix....A very pretty leaf bookmark...done on white paper, with various shades of brown thread for a tassel. There are 2 leafs on the front and some acorns...and a nice verse about the oak tree. Thank you Kathy!! From Jamie Schnirch...Gorgeous card...Jamie used a rose graphic, printed on vellum...She then mounted that over a plain white card. It looks like some kind of glitter spray was used over the vellum. Inside is a nice verse about friendship, and a pretty gold rose. This card is very elegant...thanks Jamie!! From Eileen deMars....I think this is a bookmark..am I right Eileen?? Anyway, this is very neat. Eileen did an arch shaped gold paper..then mounted a smaller piece of green in the same shape. On top of the green is a piece of white paper with a verse about gardens. There is a nice Midori ribbon at the top, along with some gold twisted wire...great work Eileen!!! From Maureen Butcher....A neato "cosmic" card...Maureen used a dark blue card with all kinds of sparklys floating around...This is a fun card!!! There are planets, glitter, and sequins...and a bigger planted mounted above the other images. Inside says "Hope your birthday is out of this world"...what a cool card...thanks Maureen!! From Carole Mork...A fun birthday card...on the front is a piece of green and white striped wallpaper with a heart shape cut out of it. In the heart, it says "Just for you"..and this is outlined with pink glitter. Below this is a piece of pink mulberry with another verse on it...inside is the remainder of this verse, along with "Happy Birthday" and a stamped present. Very nice Carole..thanks much!! From Jhone Messinger-Dickson...WOW!! I love it when Jhone does my swaps! This card is really pretty...done on a goldish-brown cardstock...there is an image of shells on the front. Above the graphic is an awesome addition...feathers, raffia, and a real shell. Inside it says "Near the sea we forget to count the days"...this card is gorgeous Jhone...thanks!!!!! From Teresita Maldonado....A little mini-book!!! The front has a mosaic looking background, with a "love" graphic in the middle. The edges are done with a heart and scallop punch/scissors (??). The card/book is tied with a gold bow. Inside are 4 different pages about love..this is so cool!! The last page even has a graphic of Mother Teresa...where did you find that Teresita?? This is really neat...thanks much!! From Pepper Keel...a nice bookmark (have to hide all the bookmarks from my daughter!!!!)...It has a really neat verse about springtime...and at the top is a graphic of heart flowers...Pepper then added some liquid applique (I think) to the flowers, and laminated the entire bookmark. Thanks much Pepper!! From Geri DiSiena...Geri did the "Don't walk in front of me" verse..so cool! It is done on beige color paper, and there is a pretty blue border. At each of the corners, there are graphics of a lily...the entire piece is glittered..then laminated. This is really neat. I am going to attach a magnet to it and stick it on my fridge. Thank you Geri! From Annette O'Brien...one of Annette's awesome bookmarks..she even makes little vellum envys for them!! This bookmark is done on white paper, with "The Crow and the Swan" fable on the back. The corners are done with a decorative rounder, and it is laminated. This is way cool Annette..thanks! From Laura Cowan...a very pretty card...done on a taupe color cardstock. Laura used paper cast angels, and then added some really neat dried flowers (my cats keep trying to eat them!!). Inside says "An angels work is never done"..this card is really pretty Laura...thank you!! Thanks to all who played in this swap...it was fun to see how different types of crafters interpreted the theme.
