That was pretty hard for our 4 kids as well as our 1/2 manx kitten. We decided that we needed to bring home another kitten and chose an "outcross Pixie Bob" one. A Pixie Bob is a relatively new breed that originated here in Washington state 13 years ago. It came about with a Bob Cat mating with a house cat. The cats look like small Bob Cats with stripes and they have spots on their underside. Every once in a while a kitten is pure black even though it had Pixie Bob parents. They can not be used for breeding purposes or for show. We were not interested in those qualities, just that it would be a good family cat, so we chose the cute little black one, only after he passes the test of being carried around by our 3 & 6 year old daughters. We now have a little 4 month old male who is *not* your average kitten. I think we had him for a couple of days , I heard DH saying "what are you doing in here?" after the kitten jumped into the shower with him. He loves to play with feather type toys, and as he does, he growls, hisses and SNORTS. I have never heard a cat snort before. He will sleep on top of my DH and I right under the covers. I swear he will get a bloody nose from being so toasty. Our other kitten's favorite activity is to chase all those bed mice, so things can get pretty active. He jumps on our laps all the time and runs up our pant legs or up our backs to perch on our shoulder. He comes when you call him just like a dog. I guess we should come up with a name for him so he'll learn to come to something other than just kitty-kitty. Lately, he has been trying to *nurse* on his male 7 month old friend. It is quite funny although I don't know if the other kitty thinks so, but he'll tolerate it for quite a while. He is a short haired, pure black with green eyes, and to me looks like a little black panther. The tips of his ears have started turning back with longer fur on the tips of them. The breeder had his tail cropped at about 4 inches which really intruigues (sp) the manx cat because he has not seen this type of thing before. These cats are known to be loyal to a person or a family, and he pretty much has all the loving he could want in our family. Subject: RS: TAN: Convention Lunch Menu Here is what my (non-list) friend Cathy and I will be dining on at the convention: Smoked turkey on sourdough with cream cheese. Grapes Cookies carrot sticks? Smoked Salmon (if I can find a small vacuum packed package). You can be quite creative with lunch, keep it light and compact so you don't mind carrying it about all morning (if it lasts that long). Don't forget a couple extra zip lock baggies for leftovers if some of the food comes in original packaging. We don't make the sandwiches in advance, use the little cocktail breads and make them while we are sitting there going through our morning purchases and counting (what's left of) our money for the afternoon. The only thing we buy is a soda. Laura A. a.k.a.
