Interesting idea? I know that I get some evil looks from the public library employees because my children do not have theri own cards. I teach the lessons and thanks to all of the creative list members I have lessons lined up until 2010! I got: *Bonnie Garby did a light house that was colored with pencils and layered over red mulberry, white corigated [with heart punched corners] more red mulberry and then a card of pink parchment! What a neat classy card! This gal does one of the best jobs of layering that I have seen! Her Pooh card in my kids swap was Totally KEWL! it had 7 layers!!!! *Giselle's card is wild...white cs sponges with several colors, a thin gold ep border with the Stamp Oasis Sun/hug stamp in vivid colors, pearlized and then corrigated! How did you do this? Wonderful... *Stargazer started with brown cs, then a layer of crean cs randomly stamped and embossed pansies, then red corrigated and topped with a tile done in blue UTEP then stamped with the same pansy. I love pansies...my fav flower! *Kim Albert did a cute little girl wonderfully colored on cream cs over tan corrigated and then layered on a cream card with flowers in the corner! I always like Kim's cards, she does a nice job! * Lynette, our hostess, Used a Magenta cat stamped in black on white anf layered on black, then a black/white marbled corrigated then on a black card. She put a line of white ep across the top and bottom. Wow! Subtle and elegant...where did you get that corrigated or did you make it? Thanks for a great swap! We work long and hard to convey the attitude that we are not the parents of these children, and we do not want to be the ones making choices for them. That is what the parents are for. Did you know that the State Legislature has been trying to pass a law that would make it legal to sue library staff that check out "offensive" material to minors. That in itself would be pretty offensive...but can you imagine what the ramifications of that would be. So Ann to you I give an Atta-Boy pat on the back for a job well done and responsibly done. Thank You. Now the down side of all this freedom is that there are situations that as an adult and a mother I have trouble dealing with. We also have to allow free and total access to any web site at the library. And as long as a child or minor is sitting quietly and not creating a scene or disturbing someone next to him they can view whatever they want during their two hour reservation, and it is perfectly legal as long as isn't considered sexual harassment. The only recourse we have is if parents dump their children at the library for extended periods of time unsupervised.
