Been there, done that....my DH lost a leg in a farm accident9 years ago and 2 years later my youngest son was diagnoised with leukemia. I lived in hospitals for years. Now Dh is getting around pretty good [still can't dance-but never could!!!] and my son is married and expecting a baby! They said that would never happen with chemo for 3 years from 13-16! I always tell this story...when we were little I wanted to be a nurse and my sister wanted to be a nun...she thought they dressed cool! I came alot closer to being a nurse with all my hospital time than she did a nurse...BTW we were Presbyterian! If it's in stock... the vendor should tell you (and you should ask) what shipping time is... I tell folks 3-4 business days from the time I receive payment if it's in stock. Business days are M-F for me... since I'm home based... (even though I'm here typing away on a Sunday anyway!). If I can't make that shipping time, I let the customer know! If it's not in stock and has to be ordered... the vendor should estimate shipping time... suppliers cancel items on me all the time tho.. . so if I said two weeks, and an item is cancelled, I have to re-order and it's ANOTHER two weeks wait....but again, letting the customer KNOW these things is about all you can do! Holding Stock?? I carry seven different companies... so that's about a gazillion (okay, maybe only a billion) different stamps... unrealistic to expect every possible item to be in stock. I try to keep regular stock on the items featured at my website... not having a storefront also means I've amassed a lot of extra stamps left over from that darned 2 pc. minimum I have to fill.... and I can only get so much onto the web site for clearance sales....so I'm at a disadvantage there.... still.. I continue to special order any item a customer wants from any of the companies i carry... might have to rethink this when the shelves can't take it anymore! Hope this helps! Linda Israel sent an adorable card with a leprachaun dancing the front of it. Inside she sent an invitation to her wallpaper swap and a beautiful piece of wall paper. The envelope that it was in was really beautiful. It was made out of wallpaper. It looked wonderful and I am following the "Rules of Acquision" because I now have to get some of the wallpaper books that everyone else seems to have. Linda's timing was wonderful. I've got two take-home finals that I'm working on as well as finishing class assignments, working and trying to keep track of and chauffeur my daughters. Luckily Spring break is coming and if I can find some wallpaper books, I'm going to try to enter Linda's Wallpaper Swap. When I showed the card to my daughter, she thought that it was cute and said that I should put it next to the other RAK that I just got. "Huh?" was my response "What other card?" As it turns out, she left a card on my desk and it must have gotten buried in the piles. I ran to the desk and quickly unearthed it. It was from Dorothy and ToTo2 and came in a clear envelope! This is the first clear envelope that I have ever had mailed to me and it came through the PO just fine but I couldn't read the postmark so I don't know when the card was sent. The card was beautiful and since the envelope was clear I gazed in admiration at it for a few seconds and then had to open it! I could hardly wait to get the envelope open and see the card up close. Dorothy had stamped a beautiful Magnolia (was that one of the PSX botanicals?) on it and did a great job of coloring and blending it. Some day I hope that I can color as well. Thank you so much Dorothy and Linda and I apologize for the tardiness of my thanks- DJ This message was from "DJ Dahl" - -- The rubberstampers mailing list is proudly sponsored by the Dueling Modems Arts & Crafts Forum.
