Book swaps have become my favorite kind of swap. And what I got back is the following: Andres Lum - a square fabric covered concertaina book that ties with a white satin ribbon. The fabric is orange and purple and black. A very striking book. Sheryl Davis - this is a book in a book. The outside of the outer book, a faux book, is made to look old. The front is emellised with pieces of rubber stamps. I don't know quite how to describe it but this is definately cool. As you open the outer book it becomes clear that it is a faux book because nestled inside is "Sheryl's Itty Bitty Pattern Book" which is the instructions for making the outer book. This is a wonderful idea, beautifully executed. La'Tricia Quan - "My Book for Keeps" The outside is orange and purple and decorated with floral paper and layers. Inside the pages are various pastel colors and are a different size from the cover. This is a pretty book. Holly Hudson - a blue concertina book that unfolds into pop-up spaces to hold photos. The book is designed to hold 6 photos. Holly has a vellum pocket on the outside credited the pattern to Shareen La Plantz. I will be copying this idea. Mona Everett - our hostess - a triangle book. The cover is decorated with a beautiful golden-brown swirly paper. The cover closes with a clasp-and-ribbon. Inside are 4 pages, each decorated in the corner with a stamp. A fun book. These are wonderful books that have already given me lots of ideas. Once again, many thanks to Mona for hosting. My dh collects power tools, woodworking tools, etc. Anything that Norm Abrams would have, use, or want. I really can't complain tho. Yesterday, I was telling him that I got a friend hooked on rs and he said that he was going to talk to her dh to explain the odd phenomenon. He said her dh would never understand. I said sort of like why you need 9 saws to do the same job. He said "exactly, same reason you need every color stamp pad. They have different functions" I will never complain about his tools as he builds lovely furniture and he never complains about my spending (except Target). He built a cradle for our baby that is coming very soon. Thanks for listening.
