It was the first day back to work after New Years day. I had a 2yr old and a 16yr old. I would get up in the morning and begin getting ready, then I would drive my 15 yr old to school with my little one, and then return home, finish getting myself and the 2 yr. old ready and drop her at daycare and then I would go off to work. Well, the night before, my husband couldn't find his keys (a common problem he has, plus the 2 yr old was into putting EVERYTHING into the garbage can at that point) So, my husband is busy looking for his keys, and is late, and I'm running a little late and we rush out of the house. I don't take my purse, my coat, the diaper bag, nothing. I drop my daughter at school and head back home. (By the way, I think the reason I was taking her to school at that time was to make sure she WENT to school, we were having a little trouble with her then) Just as I round the corner to our street, I see my husband coming towards me. We both stop and roll down our windows. I say "you found your keys?" he says "no, I had to use my spare". Well, that means he doesn't have a key to the house. Like big deal, why did that matter I usually got home before him anyway! But it was a couple of years ago, I don't remember why I cared then, plus I think I was in some sorta daze that day anyway. Read on you'll see what I'm talking about. Well, I say "here, take my house key" and proceed to take it off my ring. He's like "but...." and I say "it's o.k., I have my spare in my coat pocket". He gives me the strangest look and says o.k. and takes the key. He leaves and I go the one block to our driveway. I pull in, get out of the car, unstrap Amanda from the carseat, and all of a sudden, I realize I don't have my coat with me, that has the spare key in the pocket! O.K., what to do? Maybe my hubby went to the gas station up the street before going to the office, or the jobsite. But he might have gone straight to the office, of straight to the jobsite, which could be anywhere! I strap Amanda back in the carseat and jump in the car and race up to the gas station. Nope. Not there. Now what? I'll go to the school and get my daughter's house key. I get to the school, unstrap Amanda from the car seat, and there is this little dog in the parking lot that starts jumping up on my leg and wagging it's tail. Then it follows me almost inside the school. I had to shew him away. I go to the office and tell them I have to talk to my daughter. They tell me she's in her Spanish class and rather than have a student run and get her, they tell me where the class is! So, I go to the classroom and open the door. The teacher is talking and she sees me and stops. I ask if I could please see my daughter. She says something back to me - I don't know WHAT? because she's speaking to me in SPANISH!!! I, with a stupid look on my face, I'm sure, says "huh?". Then she says, "she's not here". OHHHHH, GREAT!!! She's skipping class!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm mad about the key, I'm furious at my daughter and I head out of the school. The library is right next to the front doors of the school and as I'm leaving I look over I see her and her best friend through the window. I turn around to go back in and she meets me in the hall. I'm so mad, I just say "give me your house key". She just looks at me and I repeat "give me your house key". She does and I, being so mad, didn't even want to talk to her to explain or get into the fact that she was skipping class, etc. So, I just turn around and walk out the door. Well, because of the problems we had been having, what I didn't realize is, she thought I was kicking her out of the house! And asking for her house key back. Well, we took care of that situation later. Anyway, I head back to my car, and that darn little dog follows me. I open the door and he jumps in my car! I get him out and once again strap Amanda in the carseat. It's so late now I figure I should just drop her at daycare, and get to work, make-up or not. But I didn't bring the diaper bag! So, I have to run home. By now, I'm so tired of strapping and unstrapping Amanda in the carseat, I figure I'm just going to leave her in the car (which I very rarely do, and on the rare occasion such as this, in our own driveway, I always lock the car doors!) and I'll just run up, grab the diaper bag and we'll be off. At the same time, I have my daughter's key in my hand and figure I only need the house key, right? So, I jump out, run in the house, grab the diaper bag and my purse, come out, lock the house up, and as I'm coming down the stairs, realize, yah, you probably figured this out way back in the paragraph, I just locked my daughter and the car keys in the car! I PANIC. What am I going to do???? It's a cold morning and I look at her in the window and of course when I do this she reaches for the window and starts crying! I check all the doors, and of course they're locked, wouldn't leave my baby in an unlocked car alone! Then I think, I have the key to the house. I can try to page my husband. He has a spare key to my car. I run in and page him. As I wait for him to call back, I walk back to the bedroom to get a hanger to see if I can get in the car myself. I can't waste anytime waiting around, my baby is in the cold car alone! As I reach the bedroom doorway, I HEAR HIS PAGER GO OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He had left his pager at home by accident! I stood in the hall and just screamed!!!!! So, I run to the phone and call his office. Really doubting he'll be there. But he is. By then, through gritted teeth, I ask him if he has a spare key to my car. He says "yes, but it's on the keyring that I can't find". I say, "fine, forget it, I have to go, Amanda is locked in the car" and I hang up. I go out with the hanger and try to get in. Now I can usually do this fairly easily (yah, yah, so I've had to a couple of other times), but of course, this time it wasn't going so well. I finally stop and am so stressed. I think maybe the hatchback is unlocked. That's stupid. The hatchback is never unlocked. We always keep it locked. But I go check anyway. Tah Dah!! It opens. I climb in, hug my baby, unlock the door, and race to daycare. I pass my husband coming towards me and just keep going. Don't ask me why, but I felt like it was all his fault! I mean, if he hadn't lost his keys..... Well, he turns around and meets me at daycare. I explain what happened and we both go off to work. About an hour later, he shows up at my work with a keyholder to put under the car, and a spare house and car key for me! WHAT???? I didn't loose MY keys!!!!!!!!! Sheesh!. So, that's my story. (Bet you started thinking Anno was writing this thing, huh?) Hi All, This is not an ad but information. SonLight Impressions does have um's. They have foam cushion that is tacky. I was delighted figuring I could save on the double sided tape! WRONG! I do not have Halo's but I have an acrylic block. Well I put my egg border on the block and stamped away. Then when I went to remove the um chunks of the cushion stuck to the block. There sticky is ultra tacky and would be great if you are permanently mounting them. Other wise you may want to remove the cushion and add your own or just remove it and use Halo's. I believe you do not need a cushion with the Halo's system. Just trying to keep everyone informed on things I discover. I was out of town and unsubbed from the list for about two weeks...can't even imagine what all I must have missed! I've already thanked her privately but get so excited everytime I think of it, that I knew I had to put a thank you on the list too. My dh is now convinced that I am totally nuts since people we don't even know are sending me packages and cards...isn't it great! The package from "Mom" had so many wonderful things that I hardly know where to begin. A stamp with "lovingly handmade by:" enclosed in a heart-shaped circle of hearts (my new favorite stamp, everything I make gets one of those even if I forget and have to re-open the envelope), a whole bag full of various shades of EP (which I have never played with until now...what fun!), a tube of green liquid applique (perfect for those tulip leaves on my new Easter stamp), a tube of glitter glue...now, why didn't I think of that sooner??? So much easier than the glue pen and a jar of glitter! Also, some wonderful cardstock, quite a few stamped cards to serve as examples and the "recipe" for Joseph's Coat along with an example in a clear envy. Great stuff, Mom...thanks, again! The next day, I rec'd another package...this time from my adopted mom's mom. I had no idea it was going to be a double adoption for me! What a lucky kid! And I'm probably about the same age as my adopted "grand-mom"! Aren't stampers great people??? She sent big fat wallpaper envy's just stuffed full with samples of lots of cool stuff...some mulberry paper, lots of wallpaper, great templates and some terrific samples of wallpaper art/stamped cards. Maralee recommended a castle to me when I was searchin' for one last week, and I asked could she stamp it and send it to me so's I could see, and she said sure! well.. wowza! she stamped it all right.. and surrounded it with trees and stuck it inside a shaker snowglobe and filled it with snow and bordered it with glittery EP. this is so cool! and my kids are most tremendously impressed! Maralee, I'm embarrassed by your generosity.. I was reluctant to ask you to go to the trouble of stampin' the thing and puttin' a stamp on it.. look at all the trouble you went to for me.. thank you so much! now.. tell me.. did you do this with foamy tape 'stead of foam core? I.. might be able to do a foamy-tape shaker card.. someday.. thanks for showin' me the castle too. it's a nice one, but I think I'm gonna stick with the one Esther sent for what I'm fixin' to do anyway.. looks more like the one at mickeyworld, and is bigger. now.. I need "one" more thing.. anybody know where I can find a tinkerbell?? please?? anno This message was from "anno" - -- The rubberstampers mailing list is proudly sponsored by the Dueling Modems Arts & Crafts Forum.
