I've had a dog now for almost two years and have to admit when he first came I had to give my head a shake. What had I done? Well, after going through countless books on dogs and asking friends who have dogs for advice and just like a baby I tried a little of this and a little of that because each dog is different. Max is a very high strung part dashound part terrier and knows how to sit, lay down, roll over, speak and Timon (from Timon and Pumba). He is the love of our family. We have one son and have been trying to have more kids, but instead we have more dogs. Last year my mom called and told me of this lady who had to get rid of her purebred Bichon, neutered, and all shots. I said bring him on over and I'll find him a home. Yes, you guessed it his home is here. Sparky (Bichon) and Max are fast friends and loyal to all of us in their own different ways. When Sparky came he did not know his name or any tricks, but we and Max have taught him the ropes. He wasn't a I'll do it if you give me a treat dog like Max, he just wanted praise. I never in my wildest dreams thought we would have two dogs, but all has worked out exceptionally grand. She used double sided tape to hold the (in this case) conventions pins evenly and level. Then she used a chopstick to drip a bit of liquidtex from the mixing container onto the pins... A key here is to use a backing which won't bend under the weight of the liquidtex. She used Bristal board, I believe. Then, when you've got it dripped onto the item, use the heat gun, heat it up first, and then give it a really quick blast. It will pull all the air bubbles out. I've done this a bunch with pins and the above really work for me. At conventions several things happen that are neat. First of all, various venders, stamp companies, paper companies, etc. have booths and display, for sale, all their wonderful rubber and accessories. So you've got lots of places to buy those great stamps, stamp pads, embossing powders (EPs) and so on that you keep reading about on the list. Second, classes and demonstrations teach you about products and techniques. And they are free! So you can learn tons of neat stuff and then go home and do it yourself. Third, listees usually make some type of arrangement to meet and to recognize each other. At Marlborough, for example, listees are going to Ann Sager's house of dinner on sat. night. There will be well over 50 of us, and Ann is charging just $5 to help with dinner. We are all going to try to bring a dessert from the Giggles dessert recipe book, Rubber Delights.. There has been talk of tee-shirts for listees at the Marlborough Convention also. At the Fort Collins Colorad convention last year, I bought helium balloons for each of the listees attending and so, when we saw a balloon, we knew it was another person from the list. Going to conventions, in every way expect financially, is utterly lovely.... financialy, well.... I leave my credit cards at home; too tempting for me to really ruin my budget. Hope this helps, Hugs, Jody >Hi everyone! I've only been on this list for a few weeks and only been >stamping for ~6 months. That might eliminate the buildup of that stuff on the back. As it is now, we couldn't even get a pin to attach to the back with all that buildup and it isn't coming off either! Another fine mess you got us into again, Ms. Farrell! I'm glittering today.....you will never guess what happened the other night. I had some Love You To Bits glitter that Marilyn herself gave to me and I spilled it all over the floor! I just wanted to sit down and cry!!!! It was the prettiest red I have ever seen. I now have very little left....boo hoo! I guess I need to install a bumper guard around my table so things don't keep flying on the floor! Geez! Poor Petie is snow bound in RI. He is suppose to be in NJ this morning but no way. He might be coming home though! Yipee! .......Guess who just came in the door! Yipee Skipee! Petie is home!!!!! Giggles to you always! I love all of the cards. My DIL can hardly wait to see them for ideas for hers! Thanks so much for hosting Eileen ! Thanks also for the baby patterned paper and sticker! I can always use these! Diannalynn: used lav. cslayered with mauve then blue leather cs. She stamped an Immaginations stamp of a baby in a blanket hanging from a star. Just a few strokes of color highlite the stars and the blanket. Blue "swishes" in the corner of the card really set it off.Nice job! Kathryn: uded white cs covered with "it's a girl" stamped in hot pink. She used a corner of a square doily from the top with a pink bow on the tip. On this, she layered white cs with hot pink footprints. The inside says: "A baby is cuddles and tickles on toes,The sweet scent of powder and tickles on the nose!" Very nice card and easy to adapt to boy or girl Ruth Kahn-Treadwell:used white cs layered with a hot pink that had a rollorgraph white plaid on it. The center is stamped with a circle stamp of mother and child. She accented with baby stickers and tied a pink and white bow on the top. There is a tiny plastic pacifier charm tied on the end of one of the ribbons, I love charms on anything! Good job! Carole Mork, used pink cs layered with a frame of baby background paper done with decorative corners. In the center of the cut out frame is a Dj Inkers baby setting on blocks, The verse is: Congratulations! Good one again Carole. I think that you are in gobs of swaps< Ilove your cards! On the blue cs, she layered gold cs that was stamped in black with lots of Pooh ans Piglet to make a background then she layered an excerpt from chapter 8 of the original Winnie the Pooh book by A.A.
