Well, what a mail day I had yesterday!! If I had known so much was waitin= g for me in my SnailBox, I would have gone down to get it a lot earlier than 11= pm!! First, I got a CCCC Magnet from Fran, the Frantic Stamper. She posted abo= ut the cute little magnets she was laminating last week. I whined, and begge= d, and cajoled, and even though I am NOT a CCCC member....she sent me one!!!= ! (She even put on the OUTSIDE of the envelope for me to shut up about it n= ow!! See whining DOES work!) So I shall consider it a Birthday Present!!! It's cute....All these cats, and a phrase: "A cat is a cat and that is th= at". I love it. Thank you, Fran=E7oise. Then, I received a HouseMouse Card from Linda Yamakido (Stampnyama). It i= s ADORABLE. I had never seen a HouseMouse before.....yes, I live a deprived life!! (Though St. Flossie refers to me as depraved....go figure...) This= card is of one mousie holding a mirror for another mousie so as she (?) can tr= y on some lipstick. Linda layered the card, with three different colors of CS -- a bright blu= e, a bright yellow, then the white that she stamped on. The lipstick is GLITTE= RY, too!!! That's my Girl!!! I LOVE it!! Thanks, RubberBaby!!! I also received a rather bulky package from The Giggler.....Giggles, hers= elf! I smelled what was in it, before I even finished opening it!!! I GOT PB FUDGE!!!!! A beautiful angel-covered tin full of PB Fudge. What a Wonderf= ul thing for her to do!!! She sent ME a present on HER birthday!!! (Mine is Tuesday, you know....oh, you don't? WELL....MY BIRTHDAY IS TUESDAY!!!!!) = Linda also included a HouseMouse card. This one is of the mousie asleep in the = icing on the Birthday Cupcake.....I LOVE THIS ONE, TOO! She made the icing GLITTERY, too!!! (These girls sure are winning Brownie points!!) The LAST but NOT LEAST RAK I got is a "sorta RAK". I asked Ellen Gordon (= EVO) to send a package of HALOs Loop to a friend, from me, as a present for HE= R birthday, which is the same as mine. Well, MR. EVO was doing the packagin= g, even though he wasn't feeling too well, and sent it to ME, by mistake!! I wrote to her about it, and guess what? Ellen told me to keep this one a= s a B-Day present (I was NEEDING it, too, and I did offer to pay for it!!) an= d she would send my friend out another package. Oh, THANK YOU, Ellen. What a wonderful person you are. My, My, My....This may turn out to be the BESTEST Birthday I have EVER ha= d!!! Now, if I could just get better and get outta this bed----life would be perfect!!! Thanks, everyone!! How about cutting out an egg shape, brayer the background then add some stamped images. You could also cut an egg shape from a doily, glue onto card stock then glue some images onto that. You might even stamp a scene then cut the egg shape out on that and use alone or glued to complementary colored card stock. I guess if you could get other Easter shapes they would work also, but an egg would be easiest to do freehand. 2. How about a non traditional one, such as some other seasonal image wishing you happy easter (Santa, snowman, father time, uncle sam, turkey, lephrecan, witch). 3. A simple Easter greeting embossed on spring colored paper. This message was from MRuss72650 - -- The rubberstampers mailing list is proudly sponsored by the Dueling Modems Arts & Crafts Forum. I don't have the truck you're asking about but the advise is good. Only about 25% of the thermal energy supplied by gasoline actually gets to the wheels. The rest is lost to friction and mechanical resistance. Driving four wheels instead of two doubles the power loss through the drive train. This is why a 4X4 gets much worse fuel economy than a 2X4. The air conditioning adds yet another load. In the end, you will use about the same fuel in the 4 cylinder truck as a 6 cylinder but will have unacceptable performance. To add insult to injury, by overworking the engine, you will shorten its life, so plan on more repair costs on the 4 cylinder engine. These are the kinds of trucks that are sold after a couple of years at a low price in "cherry condition" as the first owners were very dissatisfied. This advise, however, does not apply to all 4 cylinder vehicles. When the engine and the chassis are well matched, a good 4 cylinder car can zip about smartly nearly forever. - --Chris McEwen reply to: Socrates Press socrates@sprintmail.com Keyport, Washington - -----Original Message----- From: Ccopuntia Subject: RS: TAN Toyota 4X4 trucks? >Since I've seen just about every topic under the sun posted here, I'm gonna >take a stab at this one...there are SO MANY knowledgeable list members out >there! > >Can you help me with my decision? Hi Karen; Thank you so much for the info... I hope Rachel & her family are doing better. Gosh, here I am worried over a lost box & she has this happen ..kind of puts things in a different perspective. Well, I know you will ALL think I am crazy, but this is the dream I had--- When I was about 7, I started dreaming every night, all night, the same dream.(This lasted for almost a year.) The dream itself was different every time, but the ending was always the same: I died in the end, and I was 42 years old. Sometime after my 8th birthday, I never dreamed it again. Now, it never bothered me until about 8 or 9 months ago.... But then it dawned on me....I will be 42 on my next birthday!!! And that is THIS TUESDAY!!! You must understand, I am NOT in a state of terror, here. But, I AM a little nervous. I figure if I am REALLY careful, and I take all my vitamins, and I make it to one YEAR FROM TUESDAY, I should be safe!! I mean, ALL the folks in my family have lived to be VERY old...My own GRAMMY will be 100 in June! So, what do you think of this dream and it's effects????? It must be very difficult for your son and for you. I was 7 yrs old when I first experienced the death of a loved one and it was extremely difficult. My heart goes out to your son, his classmates and all who are feeling the impact of this tragedy, especially James' family. Please know that you are all in my prayers. Thank you. Carolyn ?-a very classy, elegant card. On black glossy cs, she silver emb a rose cluster on the upper left edge. Just off center a circular hole is cut out revealing a smaller circle of black cs with a different rose cluster emb. The edge of the circle and card are fancy cut edged and hole punched. This is so evenly spaced, great job. Then a circle of vellum is laying on the inside black circle as a store bought card would have. Marcia Balonis-a neat circular card. On white cs with gold emb edge a collage of sewing items. Buttons, papers, stamped items. Neat idea and I like the collage theme--need to do more of it myself. Mark Dutt-a treat card for that Easter candy.. On white cs an egg is emb in black and rainbow brayered. It is cut out on the right side with the rest of the circle cut out revealing the inside. Has a plastic bag inside ready for the candy treats. Love this idea. DK-on cloudy blue cs a blue stamped compass that is partially cut out with the circle cutter. Then it's folded back to reveal part of the inside. Great job on cutting a partial circle and how did you start and stop it exactly on the folded edge? DK-on brown cs a circle with darker brown images. Edge is painted with?? pink and gold paint. DK-on light green cs a circle tag with raffia bow. Has a green stamped circular image. Nice. DK-on light lavender cs a four petal card with leaves stamped on the circular parts. What is this ink? Did you again use the circle cutter on these edges? How do you start and stop it so precisely? _______________________________________________________________________________ Barb aka Rolln=========== jackmead@netcom.com This message was from Harold Jack Meadows - -- The rubberstampers mailing list is proudly sponsored by the Dueling Modems Arts & Crafts Forum.
