I liked the performances--particularly the theme medly choreography. But what was with Billy Crystal? Not only were his lines not funny, he seemed pre-occupied about something else most of the time...I expected to read in the paper about some disaster that occurred during the show....and I agree, NOT Letterman for host, but I wouldn't like Robin either. I liked Whoopi when she hosted (was that the Oscars or something else), but the best "person" for the job would be Rosie O'Donnell and Penny Marshall, don't you think? Or maybe someone with a little dignity...I know this dates me, but I think David Niven did a better job than anyone has done since then, in spite of the streaker! > Oh and Helen Hunt looked like she was wrapped in a tube-ack! That was a disaster of a dress as was Whoopi's all black number-- why does she do that when she looks so great in bright or darker subdued colors like maroon and deep gray? I watched some of the show yesterday since my server was down :-( I agree with what you've said - it was kinda boring indeed... yawn... but I did have fun looking at all those hunks there! Wowza! Alec Baldwin was stunning ;-) Now you probably saw Billy Crystal's opening, that part in which he "played" parts in each of the nominated movies? My doubt is when he is in front of those guys and they ask him whether he can dance and so on... Then one guy asks him "What can you do?" and he just lowers his pants and makes that funny face and says "????" Here you are my language gap!!! I understood something but I can't make sense of that and I won't repeat it here :o) LOL! Can anyone out there explain the joke to me??????????? Point your web browser at http://crafts.dm.net/ . - - ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 24 Mar 1998 20:29:28 EST From: SmthgCntry Subject: RS:Envelope Descriptions I posted the envelope swaps and wanted to clarify what a 'sandwich' envelope is...so here goes....... A sandwich envelope is an envelope you make with "stuff" (confetti, string, pressed flower, spices, easter grass, leaves, etc.) sandwiched between two layers (usually a combination) of self adhesive laminating sheets, tissue paper, cellophane (clear or colored), wax paper, freezer paper, etc. You would make your 'sandwhich' and then make your envelope from a template. Below are some examples of sandwich envelopes.... Laminating sheet & crinkled cellophane with easter grass between the layers. (I used clear cellophane, which made a clear envelope, with a small amount of green, yellow & pink easter grass.) Great to send easter cards. Freezer paper & pale pink crinkled tissue paper with silk flowers between the layers. Freezer wrap & wax paper with real leaves between the layers. Use your imagination to come up with different and unique combintions for your envelopes. An "anything but..." envelope is simply an envelope with nothing between the layers. For example....envelopes from wallpaper, magazines, sheet music, maps, printed paper, freezer paper fused to tissue paper, etc. I would love for you to join in both or either one. Please let me know if you would like to participate. It is a great way to get a variety of fun envelopes.
