I-SIS Stamps has a great chorus collage of screamers on the front all colored in and partially cut out on one side. Inside there's a computer that says "RS List Down". Very cute card. Lots of good screaming images. Betsy Bursey did a card that reminds me of upcoming swap deadlines! Textured stamped pink and lavendar background with a calendar layered on the front - the month of March full of birthdays and due dates. Screaming woman on the front with another layered saying "Warning: Dates on calendar are closer than they appear". I guess we can all identify with that!!!! Erna Jensen used all back and white that worked really well with her card. Black card with a portion layered with a b/w striped pattern. Layered on top of that is a glass with a scuba diver's head poking out of the liquid and a head layered in the corner (a screamer). At the bottom it says, "What could be scarier?" Pennie2 used a cranberry card, layered a piece of confetti paper on it and stamped all her images in the same cranberry color except for a TV set stamped in blue. I like the way you did that. Cute sayings on the card but the one I like the best was on the back of the card. Where did you get it??? It says: "Tell me it's just P.M.S. and I'll staple your nuts to the floor." Susan benedict - Coffee Stamper - used a mahogany cardstock with rounded corners - nice effect - layered with a black and white speckled and corrugated piece of paper and over that in beige stamped with black a screaming women with the saying "Get that out of your mouth! You don't know where it's been!" And last but not least - the card by Alpha Becky - This card is great. Tomorrow is my son's birthday and I'm giving him the card. He will definitely appreciate it and keep it. He's a Seinfeld fan and he'll be 29 tomorrow. The card was done in almost total back and white with just a few colors put in for emphasis. It's all the Seinfeld quotes that the fans remember with pictures of Newman, Kramer and Seinfeld. The saying "Serenity Now!!" put me in stitches. Lots of work great card. Thank you AlphaBecky for hosting this swap and to the people that sent the cards I received. Stampin Di / idmatchr used a brown cardstock that went really well with her coffee beans stamped on the front of the card. And there was a picture of me in the morning - where did you get that stamp of me???? - a grizzly looking lady with a pink bathrobe and bunny slippers holding a cup of coffee and over her head it says "I don't do mornings." Inside the card in a great matching brown is stamped "without coffee" with a coffee cup in the center. StampKutie stamped a border on white cardstock and then stamped round squiggles in the middle. She layered a brown swatch of textured paper on that and finished it up with a strip of 3 cute cups she colored in with colored pencils. And I really like your stamp on the back of the card that says "From the Imagination of". Who makes that stamp? Great card by Nelda Costner - Brown cardstock. Nude woman with a drape and over her head it says "Coffee Buzz". I like the foil you used to accent the drape. On the right of the card is a cup of coffee with steam rising and underneath is a saying "The smell of coffee wrapped its charms around her like the hot breath of a Latin lover. Dragnflite used brown cardstock (I guess we all did) with nice expresso postoid looking image stamped from a rainbow pad and put in all four corners. In the middle is a coffee pot with coffee beans around it. It looks like crystal lacquer was used on it but I can't be sure. Almost looks like melted candy. She finished off the card by using a patterned scissor on the edge. Sheila Landry did a simple but perfect card. Brown cardstock and a black coffee cup stamped image randomly stamped on the card. She enclosed an envelope that says Mocha Mail on it. The nice thing about this card is that she put her info on the back with a post it note so the card could be used. That's a nice idea for people that use their cards again but I have a hard time parting with any that I get for a long time . . . Thank you Sheila for hosting this swap. M-m-m-m-m-m-m-m coffee! Two of my favorite characters are Horton and Mr. Grinch....and now I have a stamp of each of them. Horton is standing on a little mound of dirt with Whazits on his trunk. The Grinch is with Whazits and they are both looking out a blue frame...of course the title of the stamp is "Framed". Last but not least I got the Cat in the Hat stamp, again posing with Whazits and the fish bowl. They are made by ANM. This is a great addition to that Pooh character that Ellen drools over. It is really tough to comply with her, "Isn't this just too cute" questions regarding Pooh. Those of you that know my "style" know that I tend to lean towards the "unusual" stamps and personally I think that the Grinch is cute. Maybe when an offensive joke is published on the list - we should just ignore it, instead of the "... well-I-think" post mortem posts .... but then ... it *is* an unmoderated list ... so if we want to object ... And ... I'm glad you did agree that racial jokes are dispicable. I am not sure that the original poster intended the joke to hurt anyone - I know her, I've chatted with her ... and I don't believe that she would do that. I think she may have intended it to have the same slant as your stand on "blonde" jokes. I find those funny, *only* if the person telling it is blonde themselves. In any case, the original joke was hurtful to some of our Jewish friends, whether it was intended is another question. I would think an apology, from the heart, would go a long way toward making things better. Ant Judy H. Big, blonde & mouthy. - - Lot less pain today. >> just as I got to the first couple sentences I gave myself a little lecture about standards and how they aren't worth much if you don't hold to them. So I just didn't read it. But I guess my point is, "I may not agree with what you say but I will defend to the death your right to say it." This IS an unmoderated list, and there WAS a buffer zone. If it was a racist joke, it was despicable. But I still defend the rights of the person who posted it. If no one listened and no one laughed, that sort of joke would go away. So the onus is not on the teller, but on those who listen and laugh. Aside from that particular joke which I will not defend, I WILL say that I'm concerned that we as a people in general are losing our sense of humor. We've all become so politically correct, that we're offended over everything. Some things are truly just a JOKE. I think we all know that blondes aren't any dumber than anyone else, but some of the blonde jokes are hilarious. And some of my friends who laugh the hardest (and tell them the most) are blondes. And they are my favorite kind of people. The kind who can laugh at themselves and not get all up tight over everything. Sure, there's things that are NEVER funny, but I guess I just think we've carried things a little too far. I am NOT defending sick jokes that hurt people. I'm just saying that laughter is good, and we all need more of it in our lives. Once it's all folded around the stick (a lath would work if it were sanded well) scrunch it all into the middle from both ends so it's one big wad, then carefully un scrunch it, and un fold it. It will look like seersucker materiial--you can also spray it with paint while it's srunched. This is really pretty in white. Have to be careful when ironing to freezer wrap as it will take out all the puckers. This can be done around a dowel or broom stick, but it won't have the lines--just a different look Eileen I have wept in the night for the shortness of sight that to somebody's need made me blind; But I never have yet felt a tinge of regret for being a little too kind. _____________________________________________________________________ You don't need to buy Internet access to use free Internet e-mail. I love your ramblings - try stamping with your blue and then go into your white. That will lighten it - don't press too heavy into the white, just enough to pick up some variations. Gloria (glomom232juno.com) used a Stampin' Up window with a cat in it, added a flowerbox over the front to add dimension, on layers of navy and then lightest blue. Inside is "The ornaments of a home are the friends who frequent it". Marstamper@juno.com sent a burgundy postcard with a winter scene all colored in, as seen through a cut out window that has a clear plastic insert behind the panes. Linda Neumann (grannystmpr@mindspring.com) put more work into one of her cards than I did in all six of mine! She has a vine and floral pattern randomly repeated over the front of the white card, on which is a red window, that opens! The window panes are cut out, too, so that you can peek into the room inside. Inside, she cleverly used two wallpapers to make the background wall and floor, on which are the Art Impressions woman in robe and bunny slippers and the man in a lounger chair with newspaper. Over the man's head is a speech balloon: It's time we talked about this coffee dependency of yours. Wow! Thea Boschma (henryb@transport.com) put a pretty embossed and colored seed packet on the front of her card, with a layer of coordinating stock behind it. The center of the packet is cut out so you can see through to the inside of the card, on which is glued a packet of real wildflower seeds. "From one small seed of kindness... Friendship grows" is stamped and embossed over the window in the card, on the inside left panel. A raffia bow completes the effect. Thea, who makes those two stamps, please? I love them. Leilani not only did a terrific card, she sent complete instructions on how it was made! On the front is a very nice arched window, complete with clear plastic in the panes, and the background is red bricks.... realistic and a great idea! Inside is a stamped, embossed and perfectly colored fortune teller. Leilani says both images are from East Coast Art Stamps. She put a lot of work into this card, too. Last, but not least, Debbie Popish (lpopish@aol.com) used a simple top fold card of a greyish stock with fibers in it over which she layered another piece of stock in a coral-pink. Both stocks have the same rectangular opening, through which a bold stamp of tulips can be seen. A green ribbon bow on the corner of the opening completes the coordinated look. I really enjoyed seeing how everyone interpreted "window" in different ways. - -- jhone "Be wary of strong drink. It can make you shoot at tax collectors -- and miss." (Robert A.
