I'm not lucky, and I'm not spoiled ... but I can be pretty rotten at times. I've had the good fortune to have vendors treat me like a human being, and not just like a number. The ones on the list, that I've dealt with, have kept in touch, told me when they received my $$'s, when my stuff was sent out, etc. I hope that the vendors think as much of my reliability as a customer as I do of theirs as a supplier. We can get to talking about "bad" vendors ... and I just hope we're all reminded how important it is to be a good customer ... keeping up our end of the transaction, PAYING PROMPTLY for stuff that was sent to us in good faith, etc. I applaud every one of the vendors I've dealt with - and if anyone wants a list - here goes - in random order: (I'm *sure* there are other great list vendors, but these are the only ones I've had the privilege of dealing with - - so far). I will tell you my idea: If you know a shut-in or elderly person who can not get much opportunity to get out, you could stamp birthday cards for them and give them stamped cards that they could use to mail to their family members and friends. If it is a relative, you could go further by stamping a card for each family members birthday and giving them to the person to use as the birthdays come up and you could mark a small calendar with each family member's birthday. I went to the Portland convention yesterday by myself and had a good time. I didn't last the whole day, but did see everything. During the time of our convention, there was a gun show, a pet show and a motorcycle show so it was a crowded parking lot. Somebody handed me a wrist tag, so I got in free. That was nice. My first visit was to Darcie's (she was having a warehouse sale). All of her ums were selling for .75/ Of course they were all onthe floor and there was no way I could get down there. Somebody passed up a big bundle and I looked at them standing until I got tired. Lot os sayings, but I did managed to find several. I then proceeded to walk around and looked. I finally did get to Aunt Amy's booth at 12:00 . I met so many people and I am not going to mention names because I will probably forget somebody. The nicest thing is when Karen (forgot her e-mail name) came running over to me and told me she had to give me a hug from Annon ymous(sp). That was one of the nicest things of the day. Thank you ann ymous(sp) Sorry about the spelling. There wasn't much pin trading going on which was surprising. I also have my bunny rabbits left. I saw the shrink book necklaces thar Andrea Lum described. They were really nice. Maybe it will be something I will try. Visited Ruth Hindin's booth. She had some nice stamps. Got a couple there. Aunt Amys booth was really active. She was a geat hostess and they gave out lots of door prizes. I did'nt win anything. I hope everybody is happy and there are no bad Tans going around. Will probably be back on line next Saturday. Pardon the figure down below. This is my sisters, I have nothing to do with it. Well, happy stamping everybody. One of the things I like about this catalog and a couple others I've received lately is that all the images are original drawings--no refurbished clip art or other public domain art. You can see a good sample of the Discovery stamp images in RSM, too, or was it Somerset? The ad is black and white, however, and the 5x7 catalog is in full color--every image!! Besides the impressive cat images (and I'm not a cat-person; a tiger image is the only thing in that category I've purchased which is forgiveable since it is UMC's mascot), there are: wild animals, a page of dogs, insects, birds of prey, fresh water birds, hummingbirds, four pages of sea life, sentiments, frogs, holiday stamps. I think the catalog is $5 with $3 refundable, but you might check the ad, and the minimum order is $25. Prices range from $1.80 to $10. Oh, yes, the addresss: Discovery Stamp Co. 8510 174th Ave KPS Longbranch WA 98351 800-780-1940 (do accept credit card orders on the phone) A couple other good catalogs I've received recently include one with beautiful images including the best Point Loma lighthouse I've seen, two pages of notable postage art stamps by Gil Mc Cue (yes, THAT Gil), a page of Sandra Jordan's wild animals and a poem about stamping by Edna Morton (artist/owner); some art by Edwin Vergara of Coronado Island. Cost is $5 refundable. Stamps range from $4.50 to $26. Coronado Island Stamping (features San Diego, nautical & original words) PO Box 181286 Coronado CA 92178 Also, KK Originals has some unique ethnic stamps, including southwestern Native American warriors, petroglyphs and time travelers; african natives; oriental (3 pages of language stamps); celestial (including rain and angels, too) and Celtic. There are frogs, tea cups, dancers, garden images, trees, and "cute" frame stamps. KK is the artist/owner. (Some of the Southwestern images will remind you of Sandra Luck's images for Buffalo Stampede). Catalog is $5 refundable and stamp prices range from $4 to $15 with unmounteds half price. You know the one... Good Morning yesterday, You woke up and time had slipped away And suddenly it's hard to find, The memories you left behind. ..Remember, do you remember ...the times of your life? The laughter and the tears. The shadows of misty yesteryears, The good times and the bad you'v seen And all the moments in between remember? Do you remember?...... I don't know if this is all of it, or if these words are even right! Can anyone help? Went to that lyrics page and not there. I think Paul Anka sang it...anyone have that old album around or can remember it all?
