It's similar to dry embossing but with much more depth. Materials: cardstock (that is at least 35% post consumer waste) for your image cardstock on which you'll layer the above cardstock Stamp--can be detailed but should have areas that are less detailed embossing/pigment ink embossing powder coloring media of choice metal stylus padded work surface paintbrush, choose size appropriate to area you'll be embossing water YES glue 1. Stamp image, apply embossing powder, heat ep 2. Decide what area(s) of the image you want to emphasize and outline with = your stylus. You'll be working from the back of the card so you just want = to be able to see the impression of the outline on the back. Note: you can try using a light box when working from wrong side. If you = can see your image (and the areas you want to emboss), skip the stylus = step. 3. Turn card over and wet paper with your paint brush sparingly within = outline. 4. Using small, circular motion, start scribbling with your stylus inside = the outline. This stretches the paper fibers (hence the % of post consumer = waste requirement). Continue this, turning card over to check your work = occasionally, until entire area is puffed up to your liking. 5. Continue doing this for any additional areas and then set aside to dry. 6. Fill embossed cavity with YES glue. This helps the dry embossing hold = it's shape.=20 7. Attach stamped cs layer onto card base. 8. Color/embellish as desired. Hope this helps. Leslie "Finger Print-cess" >>> "anno" 04/01/98 06:24pm >>> didn't we have a joke goin' 'bout this some time ago? or was that = stampin' on water? my daughter had game this evening over on the other side of town, near the stamp store.. so aidan and I left a tad early and stopped in there to poke around on our way. The gal at the store was all excited and told me to come back saturday, = cuz they're gonna have a psx gal there all day doin' free demos.. but saturday is OM state competition here, and I'll be tied up with that all day I think.. isn't likely I'll get to go. But I asked.. what's she gonna teach us? and one of the things she's gonna demo is pearl-ex, that'd be cool, = but the other thing is water embossing, somehow, on recycled paper, and only some kinds of recycled paper? that sounded interesting. does anyone know anything about this? could it be so simple as to just be "inking" the stamp with water and stampin' it on the paper and it rises = up, so it takes on a kind of dry-embossed kind of look? and.. if it's that simple, anybody know what particular kinds of paper work? and if it's not that simple, anybody got any clues? anno This message was from "anno" - -- The rubberstampers mailing list is proudly sponsored by the Dueling Modems Arts & Crafts Forum.
