Sorry about the mix up! A nice card with a pretty egg with a rose design mounted on mosaic strip background over glossy pink cardstock. This is then mounted on burgandy cardstock sponged with gold. Did you coat the mosaic strip with something to make it glossy? Very nice. Sorry for not posting sooner. Thanks to Christine Cox for hosting this swap. Great first venture! Christine Cox - Two Stampington & Co. eggs done with the Joseph's coat technique. Really great colors! I've never gotten this kind of results when I tried this technique, but you've inspired me to try again. Laura - A pretty Stampington & Co. egg in a holder that is colored in and embellished with glitter. This is layered on organdy ribbon and torn mulberry paper. Very pretty! That glitter is great. Michelle Bloye - The Stampington & Co. egg in a holder embossed in gold, colored and embellished with glitter. Hey, I think I *need* some glitter! This is on pinkish paper layered on gold "column" type paper. This is all mounted on burgandy and has a cool ribbon glued next to the layers. Victoria Banaszak - An egg with a rose design is embossed in gold on navy cardstock and embellished at the top with a sparkly rhinestone. This is layered on mulberry. Also mounted on the mulberry are two corner designs also embossed in gold on navy cardstock. On the left and right cards edges, stops of corrugated kraft colored paper are glued. The bottom edge of the card is decoratively cut. I like all the textures! Clarice Ota - A large decorative egg is embossed in gold on vellum and colored with a rose colored marker. This is attached by 4 gold photo corners to a layer of gold crinkly paper. This is then attached to pink w/flecks cardstock. This was then packaged in a clear envelope. Very elegant looking. Shelle: You sound a lot like me. I just started stamping about a year ago. I xstitch and embroidery. I don't crochet, but I do love to read and write letters, send cards to other people. I also am a hospice volunteer--I facilitate a group of children between the ages of 10-12 in a bereavement group. Most of the children have lost siblings or parents, some grandparents. I also hold down a full time job that takes me an hour and a half to get to and from. Sometimes, when I'm working on a rush project, I have to take it with me to work and do it during my lunch hour. But, I do find rubberstamping the most fulfilling because the finished project doesn't take as long a xstitching. I will be up again on Monday. My request (begging on bended knee) is: If you kept the hints, calendar thoughts, garden phrases etc. Please! Send them to me. I did back up my files, but one disk out of 20 went bad. I have nothing left. And if you are my SSS, please send me back the file you got from me. Vendors, I lost my files on you too. I really am sorry, but I don't know what I should have done differently. I *will* make hard copies of everything I get, I promise! Also, does anyone know a better way of backing up Windows 95 then floppy disks? Thanks for any assistance you can offer. If you can delay sending any files until Monday, my SIL's old computer would thank you. I thought if the paper was completly dryed out with the iron after making it that it might work so I tryed it. I added a very few berries and a little Linter paper pureed in the blender with the pulp until very fine. The result was a wonderful looking shade of blue paper with little tiny dark colored dots and flakes . I haven't tried glue on any of it yet but it seems to have the same strength and texture as my other handmade paper /.I do realize it wouldn't be acid free but neither is most of the other paper made from recycled stuff around the house. Just thought I'd share my experiment. Any comments welcome!! What other unusual things have you used in your paper?
