When the waitress comes to take his order, he says, "I'll take the cold chili." "I'm sorry, the gentlemen next to you got the last bowl," says the waitress. "Oh. I'll just have coffee, then." After a while the man notices that the guy next to him who got the last bowl of cold chili is finishing a rather large meal and the chili bowl is still full. He asks, "Are you going to eat that?" The other man replies, "No." "Would you sell it to me?" "You can have it for free if you want it." So the man takes the bowl of chili and begins to eat it. Subject: RS: TAN: Humor - Math Little Tommy was doing very badly in math. His parents had tried everything: tutors, flash cards, special learning centers, in short, everything that they could think in their world without Mathland. Finally in a last ditch effort, they took Tommy down & enrolled him in the local Catholic School. After the first day, little Tommy came home with a very serious look on his face. He didn't kiss his mother hello. Instead, he went straight to his room & started studying. Books and paper were spread out all over the room & Little Tommy was hard at work. His mother was amazed. She called him down to dinner & to her shock, the minute he was done, he marched back to his room without a word and in no time he was back hitting the books as hard as before. This went on for some time, day after day while the Mother tried to understand what made all the difference. Finally, Little Tommy brought home his report card. He quietly laid it on the table & went up to his room and hit the books. With great trepidation, his mom looked at it & to her surprise, Little Tommy got an A in Math. She could no longer hold her curiosity. She went to his room & inquired, "Son, what was it? Was it the nuns?" Little Tommy looked at her and shook his head. "Well then," She replies "Was it the books, the discipline, the structure, the uniforms, WHAT was it??" Little Tommy looked at her and replied, "Well, on the first day of school, when I saw that guy nailed to the plus sign, I knew they weren't fooling around." Laura A. a.k.a. 'Chocolate does the rest' was centered on the inside with a pink heart and the kisses and love signs. Ruth - The use of the 'Love Conquers All' set. On light brown card stock, the bear and sign were stamped and embossed. Red glitter paint highlights the letters of the sign, as well as the on the bear's sweater. The bear was painted in a darker shade of brown with a green sweater and blue skirt. A lovely red ribbon was glued over the ribbon of the bear. 'Chocolate does the rest' was stamped in brown on the inside. Becci - On earth tone card stock, she centered purple card stock that was stamped with the kisses and love sign. Then placed the bear, stamped on the same earthy cs in a fuschia ink, as well as the 'Love Conquers All' sign on the purple cs. "Chocolate does the rest' was stamped on the inside of the card. Carole Mork - On metallic card stock, she centered kitty corner a piece of black/gold paper. She stamped and embossed with psychedelic powder the two bears enjoying tea. At the top she stamped and embossed 'We'll be friends forever' with birds below it. Denise - Centered on leather looking card stock, she placed the two bears enjoying tea. I had a very wierd thing happen...yesterday, while I was getting started doing mail, an add appeared, and I clicked it to make it go away..and I got these wierd vertical bars and flashing stuff that kept me from being able to read my mail! Tried all kinds of stuff that I could think of to make it go away (I am NOT a computer guru...) finally today, my DH ended up getting into the program and deleting the add itself. Was it just me? (Is my paranoia showing agin,LOL?) Or did anyone else experience this? What a fantastic mail day. Makes turning 32 tomorrow not quite so bad! Rec'd the following cards: Pam Morrison - Long narrow card with those cute old people from Art Impressions in the party hats with the flaming cake. Very cute. Stephanie Manifold - Pretty wallpaper envy with layered card inside. Neat Sunflower stamp used on this. Kathy Anderson - Post card with a very pretty punch of balloons on front decorated with all different colors of glitter (I think it's glitter anyway!) Really pretty. Smudges - Layered card with stamp of mouse in her house and a cute bird. This card also had some confetti in the shape of little flowers. Very neat card and decorated envelope. Bonnie Lowe - Layered card with teacup on the front that is raised a bit with foam stickies. Inside is layered too...I really like that idea. Never thought of it before. Has very pretty gold chord tied in a bow across seam of card. Joyce Warner/Ruth Carter - Cute cat on pogo stick Jumping for Joy 'cuz it's my Birthday. Edge is lined with some fuzzy pink stuff....what is this stuff? I think I have to have some! Really cute card. Carolyn Woo 0 Card covered in stamp pad, ep, and stamps (some of which are raised with foamies) Very cute. I love that you sent a picture of you and your DH and a note telling who all the stamps are from. I'm going to have to try to remember to do that! Envy made from magazine picture was neat too! Diane Stagg - beautiful card - marbled front with oval cut out. Rose stamped on (maybe?) another sheet of paper and cut out, then "suspended" in the cut out oval between two sheets of acetate or something clear. How did you make this card? Did you marble the front yourself? If so - HOW????? I must learn! Linda Strawn - Judith Bear with bee's and hearts on front holding a pot of honey that is raised with foam. Very cute! And you're right - April *is* a great month!! Pat Koss - Really unique card. Black with zebras on the front saying "it's your birthday?" Then the inside says "that's wild!" Cracked me up!!! I think that's all for now! I'm loving getting all this mail and will continue to post as they come in! I know I don't do the cards justice in my descriptions and I'm sorry for that. I just want you all to know that I love them all!!!! If people who are interested will send private e-mail to the person who asked the question, saying something like "please send me a summary or post a summary to the list", the asker can act efficiently. How many would be willing to wait a few hours for a summary, rather than sift through dozens of individual posts?
