I was doing okay goofing around until I tried it on a different floor which was a little more slippery than the other. Lets just say I got to know the floor really well. I also learned moshing (Spelling?) doesn't look any more fun the more I see it AND sometimes not being able to understand the words to a song is a good thing. WHAT AWEEKEND! Last night I worked at a dance where there were almost 700 4-6 graders. Today I spent the day moving furniture in my den to make room for my stamping supplies. Tonight I worked at a concert we organized for our local skateboarders. Three local youth bands played (my ears are still ringing) and the kids skateboarded. Do I feel like I deserve punishment for something? No, I'm just a Program Supervisor for Parks and Rec and a board member for Elk River Skateboarders, Inc. You send a card or something to somebody just to do something nice. The RAK Listkeeper is Susan Benedict. Her e-mail is...darn it, I can't find her new one. If you post to the list asking her to "e" you, she'll put you on the list to RAK and be RAK'd. And Giggles is Linda Skirvin. She's the Grand Lady of the List. The Spring Fling was a fund-raising venture for some of her medical bills. There are many people on the list who could answer your questions much better than I, as I've only been on the list 2 weeks myself. But, like you, I am not afraid to ask questions. (Witness my recent title acquisition.) You may see references to flames and fire extinguishers. In a group this large, there will be differences in opinion. This past week, there were several. Being a newbie, I don't know if there were real flames being thrown or if they were fireflies. (and I don't want to know! please, please, please let's not get on it again!) Can't think of anything else to fill you in on right now. Just keep asking those questions! If fortune smiles, some techie may be able to help Valerie salvage the "bad" disk. We can still hope. It's a "hands-on" operation though. It's overkill to hard-copy everything. Hard-copying bookmarks and addressbooks is the usual "standard". That's just for future reference for other people who'll wish to avoid a portion of the problems of a drive crash. No one can do more than try to do their best to plan ahead. We can't make a career of doing back-up's, if we'll going to get anything else done. I appreciate having Valerie share so that others can learn what can be prevented and what just must be dealt with. BTW - IMHO hard-copying info on swaps you're in is handy anyways ... especially with the computer is shared or if power outages are recurrent reality in your area. RS: STORE OWNERS My partner and I are about to embark down the path of retail ownership. Can you all suggest about how much ($) merchandise you started out with, what products to avoid initially, and about how many rubber stamps to invest in? Also, I'd like opinions about what stamps companies to carry--meaning, we all know people can go to the big stores and buy PSX, etc., and we have accounts with all the big names already. The location is 900 sq feet, lots of wall space, and big open display windows. Currently, we have a small space that we work out of, and this is a huge leap of faith. There isn't another stamp store for MILES. Thanks for your help and support! Charmaine and Mitra - -- char impression obsession "it's not just a hobby anymore!"
