Linda, I don't know what well it is from which you draw the energy to do the many things you do. You are a remarkable person. Today I received the Kaleid-O-Stamp donated by Phil Schloss. This is really a cool tool and I can see where creating with this could be addictive. I'll leave the full description to Phil but say that this is a stamping device that creates randsom patterns great for backgrounds. As I'm looking at what I've gotten with my first try, I'm getting drawn into the suggested shapes--this is more fun than Rorschach blots! Thanks for the diamond box template too. I placed and order with Queen La Fetti for some of the new confetti, and would love to learn how to make these!!!! Could someone, or anyone, please send me directions on how to make these??? Or even if there is a web site that has these directions, I don't mind looking them up myself!!! The real reason I would love to learn how to make these is because I have read about all of the wonderful cards and SSS packages you are all receiving, and I don't think I will ever be able to create anything like the items I have read about!!!! How do you decide what to put in a SSS package???? I would LOVE to join in on this, but I just don't know where I would start!!!! And as for the swaps, I have joined up for two that aren't due until Mid June and Mid July...that way HOPEFULLY, I will be able to create something really nice...not as great as all of you, but hopefully nice enough that whomever receives it will like it!!!! Also, where can I find information on making envies??? The ones I have read about sound wonderful...how great to be able to make your own creations!!!!! Hugs from a nervous newbie!!!!!! So I will be sending them, but all the rest will be late, and I'm not sure how late. We are putting our house on the market and have been slaving to "whip" it in shape. Right now I feel like I'm taking a whipping. It isn't just our stuff, this was my MIL's house and when she died we stayed here so there's so much of her stuff still here, in boxes, in the garage, in closets, it seems like everywhere. My stamp room was the first casualty. I need to practically dismantle the whole thing. We are painting at breakneck speed. Realtor coming in on Thursday to help us with the price. DH reports to work in Tucson on the 27th. (I can't stamp til he leaves, he'll kill me!) I was even gonna try to sneak off to Fairfield for the Stamp Convention there but there's too, too much to do =( I'll be glad when it's all over. So please take me off your list of birthdays, I'm sorry, but I will try to eventually send them all out. All of the cards were great, however, due to last minute drop outs, I received one of my own back, I'm not complaining, but I think this is what happens when people drop out at the last minute. That being said, here's what I received: Deborah (me) on blue deckled card stock, velvet embossed sunflowers onto black velvet paper (remember the problems I had with this) 4 edges cut with designer scissors. Package of sunflower seeds taped to center, embossed sunflower in two layers in top corner and sunflower seeds glued to each of the 4 corners. Inside blank. No Name a 5x7 yellow card. A beautiful wallpaper is cut with designer scissors on all 4 sides and glued onto the center of the paper. An embossed gardening glove holding embossed tomatoe seeds colored with markers is glued on the center of the wallpaper. Blank inside. Lovely. Q on pale blue shiny cardtock a piece of white paper cut on all 4 sides with deckle scissors is glued to the center. The paper has 3 different color and sized buttons glued in the upper left hand corner and beige raffia tied in the center of the larger button. Friend is stamped in and colored in lavender. Heartland Seed Co. is stamped and colored in lavender and green. A lavendar envelope has a seeds postoid stamped at the lower left corner. Inside is stamped "Friends like flowers give pleasure just by being there". Beautiful. No Name. On pink cardstock white paper is cut, centered and glued. Sunflower seed postoid is on either side of the center of the paper and the words "Little by little, day by day, friends and flowers grow that way" is stamped and colored in pink. Underneath is a stamp of a wheelbarrow with some flower posts and wild flowers, colored with markers. A pink ribbon bow it glued at the top center. Inside a piece of white paper is glued. Stamped at the bottom is a garden cady with gardening tools, colored with markers. Very nice. Robin. On orange cardstock, yellow and a lighter orange papers are glued collage style, then covered with a piece of pale blue cardstock with deckle edges that are colored in orange. Embossed is a watering can with gardening tools and flowers colored with markers. at the top sencte is a raised piece of pale bule paper with a small stamp that says "Those who plant kindness Havest Love". At the bottom is a raised sunflower seed package. Very striking. Thanks again Sherri for hosting this swap. It was great fun.
