Yesterday, I made a gazillion stickers, and today I could see history repeating itself ... so, I got my car out and drove it!! It was a little dicey at first, getting used to the awkwardness of pushing on the gas & brake pedal with my whole leg, instead of just the toe part, but I managed. My toes are flexible now, and I had a plastic bag over the cast (it was still cold on the toes, though), with a hole ripped for the rubber bumper/heel thing to stick through. Tooled around town for a bit, went to the drive-thru at Burger King for lunch, and came home -- even picked up my mail at the mailbox on the way. (Oooohhhh ... the mail was INCREDIBLE ... but that's the subject of other posts)... I went to Walmart. Parked close to a shopping cart that had been left in the parking lot ... I do ok with a shopping cart... it's just something to hang onto to keep my balance!! The pharmacist always laughs about me being such a snowmobile fanatic ... when he saw me coming in today, he asked me if I had dropped the SkiDoo on my foot! The cards came in a spotted cs packet, closed with white velcro (it was a surprise! Definitely a fun, reuseable container!) and a spotted cs thank you note. I got cards from: Ruth (tvlady), RaeAnn Gardner, Patty Sulcs, Donnajo, and Michele. Ruth, I love the sunglasses and the gold glitter bell! The sunglasses have me baffled-- how did you do them? They don't look like they are paper. Hmmmm.... And I also like the "Moo!" stamp! Great card! RaeAnn's has a couple of cows in dresses with sunflowers... this looks like a Stampin' Up set! I like the milk can inside the card, and on the envelope! I also like the white cs cut with fancy scissors, mounted on dk green cs, and the middle white sheet attatched with a ribbon through 2 holes-- great idea! Patti, that cow cracked me up! What a funny stamp! I also like the farm w/apple tree stamp (it is all one stamp, right?) It's the perfect size for a card, and I like the way it curves around to add depth, but also leaves you a space for a greeting or animal. It's very well-colored-in, too! Donnajo's was another comical stamp! It looks like you did the animals first, then masked them, and then sponged the background. I like the look, because it gives a little space between the animals and the background and emphasizes the focal point! Wonderful card! And Michele, I loved the black checked cow with matching envelope! Very, very cool! Cute background clouds and grass, and it looks great mounted on red cs! Thanks for a great swap! deb This message was from D1derly - -- The rubberstampers mailing list is proudly sponsored by the Dueling Modems Arts & Crafts Forum. Sandra Hampson - card is of a river, or brook; three giant frogs on the riverbank overlooking the water, which has cattails and a lily pad ... the water just seems to shimmer in the sun. An incredible card!! 2. Linda Case/StampinCat - breathtaking ... a card (unusual format - 10 1/2 x 4 1/4 inches) ... lots of stamped space. It is a village scene, depicting a time from a story-book (long ago and far away ...). Little peaked, thatched roofs, turret on the church ... Little girls in old-time dress walking along some very peace-ful pathways. The stamps are all by Stampendous ... and the work is fantastic. 3. Hazel Philbrook - ooh, this depicts moose (or elk?) in a mountainous terrain ... very tired lookig spruce tres in the foreground (this is *just* the way the look in the winter), and a stream running off the front of the card. This is a winterish scene ... and it's very, very well done. 4. Robin Cramer - a western desert card that has you feeling the scorching heat and the blowing sand ... it features a cabin, with mountains in the background, cactus ... just a real feeling of way out there in the middle of nowhere!! Great, great card. 5. Unidentified Card ... and what a shame!! This is a scene from a park ... nice fence with roses traiing through it. Beautiful tree in the foregorund, and a birdbath, with birds and bunnies. This would be a very relaxing place to be!! Colors chosen are fantastic!! Whoever owns this card, step forward - it's lovely! My thanks to Merlene Lee for hosting this swap, and to all who played; when I *finally* got started, I thought it was a lot of work, doing those scene cards ... but today when I got to see the work of the other stampers .. it was all worth it!! Every one of these cards is a keeper! Ant Judy H. This message was from "Judy Hornbrook" - -- The rubberstampers mailing list is proudly sponsored by the Dueling Modems Arts & Crafts Forum.
