This recipe came from a friend of mine and I saw y'all talking about kitty litter cakes andt his one is it!!! Hope you enjoy!!!! Jennifer the perkystamper Here's an April Fools Cake... ======================= KITTY LITTER CAKE ---------------------------------- For all you kitty lovers out there (hey, April Fools is right around the corner!) Here's one that always causes a rukus. It's gross looking, but it tastes great. ========================== ~KITTY LITTER CAKE~ ---------------------------------- 1 Spice or German Chocolate Cake Mix 1 White Cake Mix 1 Pkg White Sandwich Cookies 1 large pkg Vanilla Instant Pudding Mix Green food coloring 12 small Tootsie Rolls 1 *new* kitty litter box 1 *new* kitty litter box plastic liner 1 *new* pooper scooper Prepare cake mixes and bake according to directions (any size pans). Prepare pudding mix and chill until ready to assemble. Crumble white sandwich cookies in small batches in blender, they tend to stick, so scrape often. Set aside all but about 1/4 cup. To the 1/4 cup cookie crumbs, add a few drops green food coloring and mix using a fork or shake in a jar. When cakes are cooled to room temperature, crumble into a large bowl. Toss with half the remaining white cookie crumbs and the chilled pudding. You probably won't need all of the pudding, mix with the cake and "feel" it, you don't want it soggy, just moist; gently combine. Line new, clean kitty litter box. Put mixture into litter box. Put three unwrapped Tootsie rolls in a microwave safe dish and heat until soft and pliable. Shape ends so they are no longer blunt, curving slightly. Repeat with 3 more Tootsie rolls and bury in mixture. Sprinkle the other half of cookie crumbs over top. Scatter the green cookie crumbs lightly over the top, this is supposed to look like the chlorophyll in kitty litter. Heat remaining Tootsie Rolls, 3 at a time in the microwave until almost melted. Scrape them on top of the cake and sprinkle with cookie crumbs. This is my addition--only: spread 5 of the remaining Tootsie Rolls over the top; take one and heat until pliable, hang it over the side of the kitty litter box; sprinkling it lightly with cookie crumbs. Place the box on a newspaper and sprinkle a few of the cookie crumbs around. I don't know about you, but my cat ALWAYS makes a MESS!!! : ) Serve with a *new* pooper scooper. ============================= to: INT:arkansasangel@juno.com cc: INT:birchjc2@juno.com - --------- End forwarded message ---------- _____________________________________________________________________ You don't need to buy Internet access to use free Internet e-mail. This is first-envelope-received-first-served....and I only have a few of the long-haired guy. I had a problem with one of the masks on my African sheet, and the rubber presser did a whole sheet of just one image rather than redo the whole master. Therefore, each time I order my African sheet, I get these flawed extras which I cut out and replace with the 'good' one. This flaw is extremely minute....just a tiny blemish on the cheek of one mask. I can't do anything with these and don't want to build a house of them , so, for awhile, I'll offer them free for the price of postage. Send me a SASE and I'll send you one. If you want to see which mask it is, go to: http://shell.rmi.net/~elaine/bgnidx.htm And look at the African mask sheet. It's the large mask on the upper left and the flaw is on the lower right cheek. In most cases, the literature indicates no side-effects and those that are listed (from extreme infections) are not neurological. Parvo is an extreme form of enteritis (affects the digestive tract), although the virus can cause heart failure (especially in growing puppies) as well. Just do a list search on Parvo....lots of good information! Here are a couple sites I took a peek at that seem to provide good summary information: http://www.hancock.net/~spo/parvo.htm http://www.vethospital.com/parvo.htm Also please note that many folks do not follow puppy vaccination protocol which adequately protects their little ones from disease infection. Those maternal antibodies can interfere with sufficient immune response to vaccine, so please consider the puppy inoculation protocol outlined at the website below, which is designed to provide both adequate immune response AND to reduce the immune-system stress caused by 'standard' vaccination protocol regimes which often leads to thyroid dysfunction later in life. Vets follow this 'standard' protocol primarily because new puppy owners want more convenience. If you ask, every vet I've know will help you follow Dr. Dodds protocol. I know too many folks who feel that that 12 week inoculation protects their canine kids....and in many cases, you are leading an unprotected puppy at the end of your leash. It's your job to prevent exposure prior to an adequate immune response. This mean spraying your shoes with bleach (you can take parvo home with you and expose your puppy), avoiding 'common dog areas' (sidewalks, parks etc where many dogs leave) etc. until your puppy is 20 weeks or so. You can do the proper puppy socialization work in more 'controlled' areas....eg. puppy kindergarten classes etc. Locally, parvo is one of the most common canine diseases, but other areas offer even more risks. (see: http://www.raregems-kennels.com/pbgv/files/dodds.txt) If you are interested in more information, let me know. I hate to see dogs put at risk because of misinformation. I also recommend a web search on Dr. W. Jean Dodds....much useful information there! I was asking about the Midwest Convention in Minneapolis, MN. I love Minnesota, it's like a dream world compared to Texas. (But then I've only been to MN in July and August!) I found the info I needed. Hopefully we'll be able to host a booth there.
