This card has a nice southwestern feel to it and the layering edges were very artistic. Thanks a lot Cindy. From Karen: This card looks as though it was a LOT of work. On black leather cardstock, she's layered a gold layer that is magnificent. I'm not sure how she did it--how DID you do that Karen? It's got the most gorgeous black and gold and silver look to it. Then she's embossed the Stamps in Motion tiger in copper on black velour paper. I've not seen this done before, and I found it very impressive. Thanks Karen. From Mary Garvey: This is a multilayered card. The base is deep blue with a fuschia layer over it. Then come gold, then tan. Then a beautiful earth/sky background. In the center is two leopards from Marks of Distinction. They are cut out and mounted over a great red moon. This is a very lovely card and I thank you Mary. From anonymous: a cute bookmark with big cats walking across it. From another anonymous: A gorgeous card with a leopard stamped in gold on vellum The vellum has been fiskared at the bottom and mounted over beautiful floral wallpaper. The cat's eyes are jewels. A gold ribbon has been glued to the top. Very striking card and I wish I knew who you are, so I could thank you. This was a fun swap and thanks again Fran. Wow what a wonderful swap..I had great fun participating & I all the cards are just wonderful!! There are a lot of talented folks out there... I'm going to try to describe Egypt, New Mexico, Texas, & New Zealand Egypt: Image of seated pharoh stamped on parchment colored paper with red Eye of Rah & black hieroglyphics (I think it says this was a great swap idea! ; )) New Mexico: computer generated image of NM on parchment colored paper on rust colored card stock cut in shape of NM/ images of hand colored Old West buildings with poem or state song of NM inside. This card brought back memories of being on the plateau & looking over Albequerque with the stars twinkling. New Zealand: Kiwi, fern, hemiphere/ NZ, stars, ethnic design, "Greeting from New Zealand" & outline of NZ stamped in a random pattern on white card stock. This is one of the places I would love to visit someday & I hope it's soon. Texas: cowboy boots, oil well, bluebells, fir tree, beach scene out of white opaque shrink plastic hand colored on white cardstock mounted on spruce green card stock / "texas" embossed in red on front...inside pop-up flag of TX with stamped sun behind & "Howdy Y'all!" (Isn't it funny that I got this card to describe..we go to TX every year to visit with friends & I love the San Antonio Riverwalk!!!! ) To chose one card was very difficult but I do like Alaska... the image on the front of the eskimo embossed in florescent ep on white parchment mounted on blue card stock that was then mounted on white card stock with the word & image of Alaska stamped in dark blue gave a definite impression of the chilliness of that state & I found it enchanting. Unfortunately my descriptions don't do the cards justice..they are all so marvelous. Thank you Fran for hosting this swap it was great fun!!! First of all, lemme introduce the person I'm sending this note to - Barb Temmersfeld, a stamping buddy from Ohio :-) Since rubber works in mysterious ways, Barb and I bumped into each other in cyber space but it was meant to be :-) She's one of the most talented stampers I've ever known and one of the sweetest too :-) See, she WAS BORN to be a stamper ;-) It was my Australian friend (that one who must have rubber somewhere in his blood LOL! and who'll be infected by the rubber virus sooner or later, right Barb? shhh... don't let him hear us!!! yikes!) who connected us and we just hit it off from the start! We''ve been exchanging notes over the e-waves as well as stamped cards though I have been getting more than giving... lousy swapper, that's me :-(=20 Today I picked up this HUGE box at the PO and it was from Barb... Can you guess what I found inside?????? BE READY TO DROOL... and delete NOW if you get easily green...Remember I WON'T=20 be held responsible for any jealousy fit ;-) LOL! 'K... she sent me this GORGEOUS burgundy (language gap here = oops...please teach me this color once and for all, Barb!!!!!!!) velvet = pillow stamped all over with grapes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BIG BUNCHES OF = GRAPES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just stood there in awe holding that work of art in my hands... my eyes popping out of my head, drooling THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!! There's a rocking chair in our living room which belonged to Grandpa and the pillow is now taking the = most honorable place in the house - yes, it's on the rocking chair and it looks GORGEOUS!!!!!! A perfect combination!!! THANK YOU SOOO MUCH, Barb!!! I also loved the matching card - the same bunch of grapes stamped on white glossy and highlighted with some gold stuff I NEED to know!!! what is this - EP or glitter or what??? It's GR-8! This was then layered onto a thick greyish cardstock with purple speckles (how did you do that???) and then onto very light purple cardstock! She embossed sayings inside and added a personal note in her beautiful calligraphy :-) THANKS A BUNCH!!!! The pillow was wrapped in this lovely paper Barb stamped all over with balloons and happy birthday messages using a striking rainbow pad! GOOOOOOOOOORGEOUS!! THANKS SOOOOOO MUCH! You're so sweet to me :-) I hope you can join this wonderful list one of these days ;-)=20 Love and sunshine always, C=E1ssia :-) xo galore!
