One of the friends is Mark Yee and his father's name is Fong Yee (americanized). But you know how in chinese names, usually the last name is first and the first name is last. Well, a long time ago in grade school, Diane convinced Mae that Mark Yee's mother was "Mrs. Fong". A couple years ago, Mae and Mark were married (a long, sweet story) so now Mae should definitely know that her mother in law is "Mrs. Yee. This last year, Mae hosted a bridal shower for another friend, Pearl, and invited her mother in law to the party. Her big mistake was addressing the envelope "Mrs. Fong" and not realizing her mistake! Now this is something she'll never live down since all her friends found out about it and her dh says "you think she'd know her own mother in law's name!" Thanks, Robin, for hosting and for sending your neat card with all the Arizona images on the front. Stampnrn@netnet.net (no name listed) made the most adorable card for Wisconsin. The outside is a cow looking out a stable door at a farmhouse. When you open the stable door, you see the front of the cow (adorable face!) and a big wedge of cheese! GREAT card! Very creative and obviously took some work. Nicely done! Sandra Hampson made a lovely card celebrating Arizona. Two stylized lizards are stamped with EP that makes them look like copper with a heavy patina. She's also attached a beautiful turquoise half-round bead to the left side of the card. Elegant and beautiful! Glittergirl showcases Maine with a collage card, the focus of which is a color copy of a man fishing from some rocks. She's attached the stamped outline of Maine, some stamped deer and some torn-out phrases about Maine all around the fishing man, along with the word "Ayuh" over and over! LOL! Tina started with a beautiful postcard of the Oregon coast. Gentle waves are lapping onto the golden beach, and a fine mist hangs over the water and the rocks. Tina attached a colored image of a little girl in swimsuit with sand pail, who looks ready to hit the beach! Very cute and clever idea! Angela Costello's card depicts Hawaii with some nicely colored images stamped randomly on the front of a white card, such as a hula dancer, pineapple, and the word Aloha. What's cool is that she decorated the lower edge of the card with real sand! Wow! Loved all the palm tree confetti in the matching envy, too. Great card! (He's 7 and for Christmas last year, he asked that Santa create a "remote-controlled wolf" for him. LOL) As you have read in the previous posts about this swap, Suki used the Princess Diana stamps on the envelope. Very nice. Lisa Howard made a circular pin/magnet with images of a wolf, stamped on cork, and a paw print that is 3-D surrounded by black cording and a bead. Cute idea Lisa! Can't wait to put this one in my book. Laceypaca copper embossed a howling wolf stamp onto white cardstock, then colored it brightly with markers. Looks great! This was placed on turquoise cs on top of wine mulberry paper. She completed the card with wine colored raffia tied around the spine of the card. Very pretty Lacey! Jean Mejerle stamped and dk grey/silver (?) embossed a wolf head and moon scene on paper birch bark (according to other swap descriptions). This was placed on off-white cs on top of a piece of corrugated tan cs. She printed "Wilderness is a necessity. John Muir" on the upper left corner. Very nice Jean. Hindy K's card is a real hoot. On white cs, she stamped a very thirsty looking wolf facing a water hole containing an alligator. She used a cactus stamp in the background, masking it perfectly to accent the wolf. In the sky is a glittery yellow sun. The words "Tough day at dry rock!!" have been printed out and placed at the top of the card. This one really made me laugh! Tamara (beancounter77) used light brown vellum on which she stamped a set of three wolves howling. She tied the card with a brown cording (can't think of actual name of it) and stamped two paw prints on the back. I love the look of that vellum! Unknown participant stamped a very beautiful wolf head on white cs then placed it on maroon cs (the kind that has a color on one side and white on the other). I wished you had signed your name to this beautiful card. I just love the maroon cs you chose. =) Jeanne This message was from Crzycrft - -- The rubberstampers mailing list is proudly sponsored by the Dueling Modems Arts & Crafts Forum. Taking only 15 sign-ups ... so if you're going to play, sign up early. If I don't have 15 players by Friday, swap will be cancelled. Card or postcard .... 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 ( one-quarter sheet size) On one side, your "label" to "advertise" a great ole home-made cookin' recipe . and on the other side ... the recipe itself. These can be actual recipes or they can be humorous ... from sex in a pan to dog food biscuits. Send 6 get 5 back. $1.50 for postage. Send SAML. I will supply envy. These will be postmarked by May 22. Please do not drop out and please do not request any extensions (I really, really *hate* holding everyone's swap cards because of one or two .... and it doesn't exactly make one a popular hostess...) I have thought about this for several months. Doing the RAK list, I get so many requests for a snail list. The original snail list has not been updated in nearly 5 months. So if you want to be on the UNofficial Snail List, send me the following: Name: Address: Email: Birthday: I will then put all the info together and send it out Wednesday morning. And all requests received after that will be sent out on the 1st and 15th of every month. Once I have your info, you don't need to resend it unless there is a change.
