Boy, was the postman good to me today! I came home from a stressful morning to find three (count 'em, three!) packages. First, I received my Vivid! stamp pads from Sandy McDaniel--thanks for the great service! I'll certainly keep you in mind when I need more! Then, I got a RAK from Kellie Ault! And I thought she was a newbie! On blue cs she layered white cs ( cut with deckle edge scissors) with a stamp of a kitten holding a ball of string. Surrounding this are 4 sets of cat's paws and random assorted-colored dots surrounding all. A very cute card! And last, but certainly not least, I got some of Giggles famous fudge! At least, I'm guessing that's what it is. It's wrapped in a great little wallpaper box-like package, tied with a ribbon. I'm summoning all my feeble willpower to not dig into it as I sit here! (And, no, we won't talk about the half bag of 3 Musketeer's Miniatures I've eaten to keep from digging into it. I WILL share with my children! I will, I will, I will!) So, thank you, one and all! You've certainly made my day much brighter! Now, if I could just talk DH into taking the kids out for supper so I can study........ - --Jackie "There are victories of the soul and spirit. You've all been so nice in answering my questions so far. Thanks! * What are the RS Conventions like? * Someone mentioned making a lot of pins to take when you go to a convention, what are they talking about? * Can't think of what it is called, but there is a little roller type thing that you use to put ink on the stamp when you are using different colors on the same stamp or when you have a big stamp....what is it called and where do you get it? * Has anyone done the stamping on candles? I saw where someone did this on a webpage (can't find it now) and would like to know more about it. * Anyone know of any Stamp Stores in the Dallas/Ft.Worth area of Texas? * Anyone else going to the San Antonio Convention in July? Ok, I guess that's it for now. *laugh* Sorry for all the questions. Definitions of "reasonable" prices vary. Lightweight deerskin, garment pigskin and "splits" for lining are all stampable. Sometimes trimmings of deerskin and pigskin are available by-the-ounce. What I'd recommend though, for non-vegetarians, is the lining split ... you'd get a good-sized portion of a skin, soft and supple, possibly for less than $10, much less expensive per-inch than exotic papers. You'll need to go to the store the first time ... catalogs won't tell you what your fingers'll tell you. Once you *know* what suits you and have the *exact* product description and catalog numbers, you can mail or phone orders in. If you ask to buy by the square-inch however, the prices go through the roof. Got my April package from my SSS. Wow. Thank you so much. You did a wonderful job as usual. I love the Jesus Lives stamp. I will get a lot of use out of that in the cards I send to our church members and others! Hmmm. Glossy card stock, white and a beautiful red! Lots of ribbons in beautiful spring colors. Jelly bean scrapbook papers, handcream, candy with a hand stamped bag topper, apple blossom potpourri tart (think spring), Easter changable stamp, pansy memo sheets, (Pansies are my favorite!) I am trying to do this from memory and probably forgetting something. But thank you so much. It is a wonderful package!
