If this is a small convention, I can't even imagine a large one. We went for Saturday only but I didn't have time to make it to all the booths. Thanks Nicki for organizing the lunch. It was lots of fun! I just wish I would have had time to talk with everyone more. My friends were teasing me. They are not on the list so they said everyone had a purpose, Kim drove, Patty was the pathfinder, and I was the social director. They loved the convention too and couldn't get over how nice everyone one was, vendors and convention goers both! I spent lots of money. I got so caught up in shopping that I forgot to look for people trading pins. I brought home most of my pins but ended up trading about 45 or so. I didn't find any pin snobs. Thanks everyone who helped me have a teriffic day. I can't wait until next year. What am I going to do with all these left over pins? Anyone want to trade? I'll never forget the first pack of swap cards that my stamping Mom, Liz Salcido, sent me. I was in total AWE. I still pull those cards out from time to time for inspiration! Even with my own cards in a swap - none of them turn out exactly the same. (The first one is usually the worst and they get a little better as I do the next 5 .... LOL.) I wonder if the stamper in question copied the idea as someone might copy an idea seen in a catalog or magazine not realizing that Judy was in the same swap? One thing for sure, Judy. While in Cleveland, I found the Delafield cat with/pumpkin stamp I have been looking for! I went to Rubber Age Stamps, 5875 Broadview Rd, Parma, OH, and they had *3* of these discontinued stamps! I have been looking and advertising everywhere since Delafield closed and wasn't able to locate this one! I got one, so as of midnight Saturday, there were still 2 left, if anyone is interested. Sorry, I did not notice if they had other Delafield stamps, but they might. They also had quite a selection of Laurel Burch stamps left--including some cats--I found the cat on the chair that I didn't have, but, again, they had more than one. Their phone # is 216-398-7001 and I bet they would take a charge card and mail out stamps if anyone is interested! Just think, a great day made even greater. :) Unbelievable!! I am only two months old in this stamping art so please keep that in mind when I try to describe these beautiful cards. I hope I get better with time. LOL From Stephanie Geddes I received what I think you people call a shaker card. It is on dark blue confetti cs and on the from is white cs with a quilt stamped with black embossing and a heart cut out in the center. The heart is covered with a clear plastic (if it is something else, please let me know) and inside this heart is tiny little heart confetti in asst. colors. Stephanie I would love to know how you did that. :) Oh, I can't forget to mention that the quilt has pretty colored buttons in different shapes and red flowers. Very lovely and thank you so much. From Susan Benedict the cs is a very pale green marble and layered with dark green cs and another layer that is an of white with a beautiful red bucket of yellow flowers. All the layers have deckle edging as well as the bottom of the card. Again very lovely and thank you so much. Susan how did you know that greens are my favorite color. Thank you and hugs! Looks like Linda sprinkled on glitter before it hardened. She also attached 3 little bows of lavendar, green & pink to 3 of the balloons. It is very festive & cheery. Inside--I really did laugh out loud--Linda stamped: "It doesn't get any better that this...and that scares me." Who makes that stamp? Great card, Linda---thank you for brightening up my day & for the handwritten birthday wishes. uhhhhhh-just one little very tacky question: Is it wise to stamp "Shoot Me" on the back of a card going through the POST OFFICE in a CLEAR envy? Just because that is prefaced by "So it's not a Hallmark..." is beside the point.......:-D Barb aka Flossie This message was from StFlossie - -- The rubberstampers mailing list is proudly sponsored by the Dueling Modems Arts & Crafts Forum.
