I would recommend starting with the colored pencil set made for coloring photos. (I don't think they're offered in Light Impressions, though) They're much more controllable, and work great! I've been coloring antique photos to use in art work for a long time, and I love it. You don't get a very good result coloring on really glossy prints, however. The pencils are cheaper than those other sets, and it'll give you a chance to try it out and see how you like it. This might sound a little like a frantic email from your friend Kerrie at Turtle Press. Well, if it does, that's because it is. My first convention is going to be at Ft. Washington this April. I'm very nervous, and between normally filling orders as fast as can be (and keep em coming, please!), designing my display, and getting stock built up, I'm very busy. Needless to say, my schedule is leaving little time for actually stamping, and my collection of samples for our booth is very sparse. This is what you've been waiting for- how you can help me out! Please please please, we need samples. Now's your chance to help out one of your favorite stamp companies, and become famous too. In return for your awesome samples showing off Turtle Press rubber stamps, I'll send you a sheet of artistamps, turtle themed of course. (If artistamps aren't your thing, and you'd rather get coupons, let me know.) I hate to limit your creativity, but please use only Turtle Press stamps. I don't want any other companies mad at me... ;) Please get your samples to me by March 20th or so, but the sooner the better of course. I'll be so thankful, that I'll even embarrass you by thanking you profusely in public. Please? Help me out? :) Kerrie Turtle Press P. O. I have one constructive thing to say--I don't think SS postings should be confined to one day because a. the enthusiasm rush is part of the fun of the post and b. the senders are usually as anxious to see that a package has been received as a receiver is to get it. I do want to say unequivocably that there is no way I could deal with this. None. *Nothing* in my life is this structured. I go out of my way to keep things in my life as unstructured as possible. Also, most days I'm lucky if I can remember what day it is let alone what I'm allowed to post on that day. We *all* delete a lot of messages, Robin. We're *all* looking for the good stuff. The problem is we all have a different idea of what "the good stuff" is. Under this proposed system, at least until it drove me crazy enough that I finally unsubbed completely, I would still be subscribed every day and I would still be deleting just as many messages. Monday and Thursday I'd be deleting any rubber info that didn't interest me (some does, some doesn't.) Tuesday and Wednesday, I'd be deleting any "idle chatter" (which is another definition we might differ on) that didn't interest me, Friday, I'd be deleting any COMMs that didn't interest me. You haven't said what Saturday and Sunday are regulated to, but I imagine it would be the same--some would interest me and some wouldn't. Yes, for people who *only* want rubber info, this system would work. But there's already a digest version of the list *and* a newsgroup for *only* rubber info. Why re-invent the wheel?
