Those of us who are truly hooked take the time to read and/or delete judiciously, maybe there are some "non-chatty" types out there who just want to talk rubber and nothing but rubber. Nothing against those who enjoy it, but everyone might not. I'm one of those people who would tell my life story to the stranger behind me in line at the grocery store and have made friends with a fair number of fellow listees who I feel have really enriched my life....and some of the TAN's have really great stories so I do like having other than RS postings but it does make it hard to get thru your mail when you're in a hurry unless you can check it on a hourly basis (which I sometimes do time permitting! lol!). So with my limited experience, here are my thoughts: GIVE YOURSELF PLENTY OF LEAD TIME. I would definately sit down with the couple to get a feel for them. their personalities, what they like, their colors, and the style of the wedding and reception. Think in their style and simple (remember you are doing 800, no place for fancy with a lot of detail here). Once you get this, I would do a few mock ups, and let them make a selection with suggestions/modifications. Next do a final proof, have them DOUBLE CHECK ALL SPELLING, and GET THEIR SIGNATURES FOR THE APPROVAL ON THE FINAL DRAFT ALONG WITH YOUR 50% DEPOSIT. I would invest in having a custom stamp made with whatever wording they want (If you put in name, date, etc, and you want to use the stamp again, you might be able to cut that out, and reuse the stamp, but if not you may have to absorb this in your costs). Buy all materials at one time (to make sure you don't have a problem with dye lot, and buy extra materials to allow for errors and additions, you can usually return unused items, but if you run out your store or supplier may not be able to get more of what you need in in time, or there may be a match color). Since you are making so many, if you don't already have a vendor ID number, talk with the owner of where you will be purchasing your items to see if you can get any discount for your volumn purchase. With agreement from the couple, I would definately put my credit line on the bottom back of the items. Then it production line from there, and if your design is simple enough, it shouldn't be any problem to do it production line. I've used high school art students for some projects and the schools are always happy to have the jobs as it give the students something to do, and a little income. The teacher does the QA and I double check it. Stamp, assemble, roll and add embellishments. By the 50th, you can probably do it in your sleep. If you are making scrolls, some nice ribbon and a wedding charm might set it off nicely. Best of luck. This was a great swap! I had never used AIG before this! I had to go out and buy it, and was it ever worth it! So Many ideas now! From our hostess, Shawn, a beautiful stained glass cards, of roses, with AIG as the glass. This was monted on pink paper, edged with seagull scissors, and mounted onto a green postcard with the corners trimmed. Beautiful! Kim Cagle- House Mouse! Mousie on jelly beans, with the beans all colored in different colors of AIG. What an explosion of color! I love it! This was trimmed and mounted onto purple cardstock. Cute! Carole Mork- I love these one stamp cards! So elegant, Love You to Bits Congratulations stamp with balloons. The balloons were colored using transparent AIG colors. I HAVE to go pick up the translucent colors now! Darn it Carole, now I have to find the money to do it....oh well.... Great card! MerRyanFL@aol.com- Another stained glass card, this one of cranes. I MUST find this stamp! I love the technique here! Stamped on midnight blue cardstock, she colored certain areas with something (What is this????? Another must have!), then glittered certain areas, and the mix is just incredible! I've got to try this! She layered this onto mauve, then light pink, then all this onto a plum colored card. Gorgeous! Last, but not least,Penelope Lincoln- WOW! Large butterfly, all decked out in AIG! I love the melding of colors here. How did you do this! I HAVE to know! The transition of color is so smooth, the colors just flow! She lined the bottom of the card in Miracle tape, then flowed the colors again. This is such a spectacular card! The butterfly is surrounded by a sponged blue background. Cool! Well, now that I've botched all these descriptions, I hope somebody understands them! Thanks again Shawn! I'm SOOOOOOOOO glad I decided to play! Great Swap!
