I would like to add my little snipplet here. BEFORE YOU READ- PLEASE understand that I am not saying moms should stay home with their children, I understand that not all can. I am only relating what happened in our home. When we got married I and a career that I had intended to follow to "Great Heights" DH knew this, but it became evident that a happy functioning marriage and this career didn't belong together so I quit working when I became pregnant (you did that back then) I stayed home to take care of the children until they were both in school, and began to persue a different career then...starting on a part time basis so that I could get everyone use to the fact that mom had 2 jobs now. This seemed to work ok...as time went on I went to full time. I was very pleased, made good money, we moved to another part of the country. I got a job with absolutely no problem and things went on as before. AND THIS IS WHERE I discovered that my pre-teen and teen age children needed a mother at home when they returned from school every bit as much as my babies needed a mother around to mold their personalities and help to teach them right from wrong. I had laid the basis for their decisions, but this was the time where they were being hit to make LIFE ALTERING decisions. Sex and drugs truly are life altering decisions ! And I was not there for them, there was 2-3 hours from the time they got home until I got there, then there was a buffer zone time that "I" needed to get myself together before I could handle problems. By this time they had made their choices, right or wrong. Things that they would have talked over right after the event , had cooled down and passes. It took a real kick in the ass to open my eyes, and I quit my job. I began working for myself (not making a lot of money) so that I would be there. Some things that I could have caught and prevented had already happened, but I am sure that my being home kept many more things from "going wrong" I wish I had realized how important that time directly after school was years earlier. I am sure I could have done something to accomodate ua all, I just didn't eveer thingk about it. There's a mail order company called "Wizard of Ah's" and the gal has several pages of Wizard of Oz stamps. They are great looking stamps. The owner of the company is a friend of mine and she is very reliable. You can find her address in RSM, Vamp Stamp News if you'd like to order a catalog.
