In my state, if you are driving without insurance, you will lose your license. Did you get her name and address (please say yes). If so, and the damage to your vehicle is not more than $5000 (or whatever the limits are in your state) you could take her to small claims court and sue for damages. However, your case will not be strong unless you reported to police or have witnesses as she will just say that YOU hit HER. I still miss her tremendously. She was my best friend and no one has taken that cherished place. And I do love my DH, but Mom was Mom. She found out that she was pretty sick right before Christmas of 94. After several treatments, she went into a coma for 4 days in March. We thought we had lost her at that time, but my daughter and I visited her, and she looked at me and I told her that it was us, Jody and Bethany visiting her. She looked at me and said "I know". Shocked me! The next day, she softly said to me "If I died tomorrow, I couldn't be any happier with my feelings for you". She made it to my 40th birthday the next month, and that was so very special for me as we had just bought our home earlier that month. Little did I know that it would be my last birthday that my brother Kim would be at with me, as he died Christmas Eve 96, and he missed my BD in 96. I "hogged" time with my Mom, because I knew how much I would miss her. Her last words to me were "I Love You", and I know that she truely did. I miss that Mother Love. It was hard when she died, bacause I had already lost my Dad at the age of 24. Talk about feeling like an orphan. I miss being able to ask questions about the past. I struggle with Mothers Day. I took my 4 and 6 year old daughters to a Mothers Brunch at church on Saturday. I wished that she could have been with us too. No one can take her place. It was definitely a book that was hard to read, but one that I felt I had to. The interviewees are from all walks and stages of life and their stories are poignant. What you get a sense of is how we are all intertwined with our mothers even when we don't know it and their passing affects us differently at different points in our lives. I encourage anyone who hasn't seen it to at least pick it up and browse. It can change how you view yourself and your actions while dealing with your loss. Yes, I'm still the late bird in reporting in!!! This swap was absolutely the most fascinating I have ever ever seen! and I'm so privileged to have been a part of it! My assignment was to describe the following: Ireland-Frances Coyle too a photo of the Cliffs of Moher, Ireland, and inserted it into slots cut in the card stock...then stamped two gorgeous celtic knot stamps in each of the two lower corners, embossed and colored in shades of rich kelly green. Orange and green shamrocks decorated the two upper corners!! beautiful!! Oregon by Cindy Woodard---oh, too cool! A sage green cardstock, cut in the shape of Oregon, then I think glittered or gold embossed...then a lighter shade also cut in the shape of the state, stamped with postoids, and trees, and mountsins and rain...all the wonderful things representing Oregon!! Great card!! Maine by Julie Carleton, has blue marbeled cardstock, layered with a top card printed with all kind of information about the State of Maine, and including a drawing of the state's shape...inside great layering with stamps of forests, and waters and the seashores of this lovely state!! Beautiful colors!! Puerto Rico was represented by Yazdel Alvarez, whose card begins with a great image of an "island" woman with a basket of fruits, and flowers in her hair. To the side of that is a glorious fuschia complete with hummingbirds, a postoid, and some waves...very colorful and representative of my image of the Island!! Some others that I especially liked were: Texas by Sherrie Evers, who has dark blue card stock, with "texas" stamped and embossed in red, then the State of Texas stamped on white cardstock, with a red border, and some great embellishments the outside...The inside is a popup of the State Flag, with a sun and clouds stamped...and it says "Howdy Y'all" ...wonderful!! Sue Hart represented Virginia...and "Virginia is for lovers, the Blue Ridge Mountains, Virginia Beach Shore, and Rubber Stamping" is graphically represented on the inside!! Oh, so well done!!! I really liked the idea of dividing the card into quarters this way! Arizona by Sue Bentley had some copper embossing on an American Indian style pot, complete with turquoise and rope embellishments, mounted on black, with handmade fiber papers on the corners, like photo holders, mounted on a gray card stock. Arizona is stamped on the inside along with some Native American symbols stamped in rainbow colors. Fantastic!! Mona Everett represented Japan with white leather cardstock, layered with gold metallic, fancy cut on the corners, then with a gold embossed tree of life on black cardstock, with red cardstock right behind it. Gloriously simple and elegant, in the Eastern manner! Thanks to everyone! These cards are so very special!!!
