I've only been online about a week and have been on the stampers' mail list about that long as well. You all seem to know what you're doing, so I've been sitting back, reading, and learning a lot about all of this... e-mail, internet, ordering, vendors, established friendships, visiting web sites, and so much more! Thanks for teaching me! I've been feeling like a voyeur, looking in on all these postings but not contributing anything. So, thought I'd say hi and introduce myself. My name is Debbie Reale. I've been stamping for a long time, but there is so much I don't know, I have discovered since going on-line with you. We don't have any stores devoted just to stamping here in *Indianapolis*, unfortunately, but I think I've found most of the stores that handle stamps to any extent. Would love to have access to some of the places you know about in your locales. Hope Indpls. catches up! California seems to be absolutely loaded with stores! We have one stamp store that is really addicting, Barbie's Stitch'n'Stamp Nook, which I highly recommend to Indy stampers or those visiting our city. I use Plano two-sided fishing tackle boxes (#3732 I think) to hold most of my stamps (not the really big ones though) and categorize them in those tackle boxes. They have a handle and are easy to take with me, and can easily stacked on top of each other. I think WalMart has them for the best price. One of my (many) questions for Halos fans: How do you make good prints with unmounted stamps? Since I'd love to get stamps for a more economical price and take up less space storing them, I'm very interested in stamping tips for unmounted stamps. Most of the stamps in my collection are mounted, simply because they print so well. Would really appreciate your input! Thanks for listening, if you tuned into this novice's message! Take care, all. Here are the cards that I accumulated: 1. Mom Janet's Magnet: enough said.....No, seriously....it is a work of art. The stippling alone is wonderful, but the stamps she chose to complete the scene are terrific. I have a lot to aspire to with these brushes. 2. Stampin' Sneak: a travel card stippled in light teal and stamped with a Wordprint stamp in a travel theme. She layered a compass, world postoid (cancelled, of course) and foam mounted a burgundy suitcase.....I am ready to go on our next adventure, Sneak.....I guess Stampaway is it!! 3. Jessica Edwards took foam board and layered some pink, pale lavender specialty paper, and then stippled under an *Ex Libris* stamp. Tres elegant...and cool that it is another magnet!!! 4. Alphabecky used interference paint and glaze to stipple on black cardstock. I have not seen this neat paint before. It is really neat looking. Then she layered a bronze crimped rectangle and an angel and saying stamp on top. WOW! 5. Tarheelstamper stippled a bee hive stencil on vellum and placed it on black cardstock. She then added two bees embossed in black and gold. The corner photo holders in gold were a neat touch. 6. Monarchstamper stippled on glossy in yellows, and corals. She then layered two butterflies on top..all markered and gorgeous. The butterflies are exactoed and when folded, make a lovely 3D effect. 7. DK Stoneman stippled butterflies using rainbow dye to make bookmarks. The stipple brush to stamp approach is one of my favorites. 8. Sandy Kavanagh computer created her own wordprint stamp and then stippled it in a light teal. She layered music (also stippled a little darker) and a *Fat Lady Sings* stamp on top. What a use of layering. It all flowed together nicely. 9. Elaine Normandy stippled a background for her *daydream* stamp (a gal resting on her elbows on a cloud). She surrounded the gal with butterflies and a unicorn. I think the stippling really looks neat with the cloud. 10. Nan Robkin created a sophisticated look on black paper by stippling it with gold and layering two 3D illusion paper and gold corrugated paper under what looks like an Oscar stamp. The vellum paper used to line the center completed this wonderfully complete card. 11. Janet Delwiche created a magnet featuring trees and a gorgeous sun. The pigment inks were then embossed with clear powder. I just love the envelope the magnet came in....It looked water spotted in shades of a greenish teal. Again, wow! What a talented bunch from several lists participated. I have so many ideas now....
