Whoever posted the original challenge to send a card to someone for "the heck of it", was great!! I got the BEST card from Ma Vinci today!!! It really lifted me up!! I needed a boost! Its a pink paper, looks like cotton candy clouds (what is this called, Robin?), with clouds of blue, with rainbow/holographic type glitter in each corner. A beautiful gold embossed sun in the middle, and two winged angels, embossed in silver, or pewter, layered just over the sun!! The phrase around the sun says (repeated x 3) I believe in Angels....with little hearts at each end. This is definitely one for the bulletin board (my big 4x6 foot board in the den) where I put all my favorites!!! Thanks so much Robin!!! More on it's uses Clearsnap had a bunch of this stuff at their booth at HIA. It is really fun. The owner did the same thing with his mustache. It looks funny. It is really great stuff for backgrounds. Heat it and press a broom onto it or a hair brush, old jewelry whatever. It imprints. Babbet Cox took an impression of my ear and stamped it on a piece of paper. I cut out the image, glued it to a card and put an image of a lady drinking a martini with her finger in the air with a speech balloon saying "Now that I have your ear, why haven't I heard from you lately?" Made a cute postcard to send to a friend. Besides the blocks, they have sheets of it too. My next order to Clearsnap will have this stuff on it. Ann B. It was a great surprise. I put the package in the car and went to my daughter's school. While I waited for her, I opened my package. There were 2 gift wrapped packages and a gift bag inside. The first thing I opened was a package of bright green notecards from Embossing Arts. This is great! I was wanting to make some cards for St. Patrick's Day and hadn't bought the cardstock yet. So this is perfect. The second thing I opened was the gift bag. In it were 2 bottles of ultra fine Jewel glitter (silver and copper). How did you know that my glitter stash was getting very low? I didn't have these colors yet. So now I can have fun playing around with them. Also in the gift bag was a small box of wildlife stickers and a few Winnie the Pooh stickers. The kids are going to go crazy when they see these! That is if Mom doesn't hide them first!!!! The last thing I opened was a palette of pastel chalks. I love it!!! I am definately going to have fun with this! I love making the watercolor look on cards using chalks. With Easter coming up, I will be using chalks to "color" the eggs after I have stamped and embossed an image on them. (I'll post another note explaining how I do this). Thanks again for your thoughtfulness. I tried to find it around here but it is not available as yet. The called it something like "Dimensional Magic" I think it would adapt very well to rubberstamping. I saw something similar at HIA but they were using it with color prints to accenuate and bring parts of the picture out resembling 3-D. I was wondering if the art institute glue would work the same way? 3-D and clear. Or would it remain tacky? This Dimensional Magic must dry to a hard sealed finish. Ann B. I like to blow the yolk out of the eggs, but you could use hardboiled eggs too. I stamp the image and emboss it. Then, color the image with your LePlume or Tombow markers. Before the marker dries, emboss the colored areas with clear EP. This will prevent the colors from coming off on your hands. The eggs they you blew the yolk out of can be hung on a wire "tree" as ornaments. If you have a small alphabet set of stamps, you can personalize the eggs. On the ornamental eggs, you can brush on a wash of glue thinned down with water. Then sprinkle on ultra-fine iridescent glitter. She uses Trias. I don't have her e-mail address, but I'm sure someone can give it to you. I use the Black Watercolor Designer Ink by Printworks and it's supposed to clean off, but it stains my stamps a lot. Still, I teach a tole class and need something people can use their markers over without the outline bleeding and this ink works. I use markers a lot and like it that the image won't bleed. Does Printworks make any other color in the Watercolor ink? Well, I'm putting up with stained rubberstamps for now. Maybe someone knows what to use to clean them.
