The brakes failed and the car careened down the road out of control. Half way down the driver managed to stop the car by running it against the embankment narrowly avoiding careening off the cliff. They all got out, shaken by their narrow escape from death, but otherwise unharmed. The manager said, "To fix this problem we need to organize a committee, have meetings, and through process of continuous improvement, develop a solution." The engineer said, "No that would take too long, besides that method never worked before. I have my trusty pen knife here and will take apart the brake system, isolate the problem and correct it." The programmer said, "I think your both wrong! I think we should all push the car back up the hill and see if it happens again." After the movie had ended, we returned to the snack bar to complain about the sad state of our snack, and were asked this question by the counterperson: 'Were they like that through the whole movie?' ...my fiancee couldn't resist - he shot back, 'No, actually I watched them unpop before my very eyes!'" A Question about Ink Pad Actually, the Waterproof inks like the ones from Printworks are an alcohol based ink instead of a waterbased ink. The ink should come off if you clean them immediately after you are done stamping. It's the alcohol that keeps the ink from running when you use a waterbased ink next to it. Alcohol and water don't mix. The same reason you can stamp in regular dye based ink and color in with Trias or Prismacolor markers. The markers are alcohol based. I currently carry almost 30 companies of stamps, papers and accessories; hundreds of stamps and accessories are "in stock" in my on-hand inventory. I have been selling on the list since February 1997; but also sell through "word-of-mouth", and at craft fairs. My specialty is themed grab bags and stamps which you can "do more than just stamp with". i.e. stamps that you use to create trick cards, interesting boxes, or other stampable or stamped items. I also include FREE stamping stuff with every order. I work full-time in addition to my business; and make every effort to keep my customers notified of shipping dates, any possible delays, and to confirm that orders have been placed. If an item is in stock, I can ship to you immediately. Discounts to members of this list are generally 30%, please inquire for specifics. For a complete list of companies that I sell, please e-mail me. Additionally, I would be happy to provide customer references. (That still cracks me up.) See, it's like this. Every month, about the second week in the month (this varies depending on our own lives, ya know?), we look at the Secret Stamper thank you notes that have been posted to the list and look to see just who has NOT posted a thank you. (You all know who you are and why, but we don't.) So we write to each pair about this missing thank you note. See, we don't know if the person just hasn't posted yet, or didn't receive something... heck, you could have written us yesterday about some magnificent gift you're sending for both July and August and we still wouldn't remember. (Or we might, but don't take chances with our collective memory.) This first dun letter of the month does NOT mean you're in trouble!!! Please believe me on this one. Goodness, we don't even know if you're the half at fault or not. We're just pleading for information with this one. Just answer it right away and you're golden. Now if you do NOT answer it right away, THEN you're in trouble. That's our new rule for this round, we can forgive and fix just about anything but not answering us. I forget what time frame we put on this before you're dropped from the swap, and whatever it is is probably going to be stretched a bit in the summer because of vacations and all, but ANSWER THE DUN NOTE. And don't assume you're in trouble, because you're not. Now the SECOND dun letter (sent about a week after the first for packages still AWOL) probably does mean you're approaching trouble. But answer that one, too. The THIRD dun letter (usually sent at the end of the month after the month in question) is serious stuff. At this point in time not only is a package missing from the month before, but there's a second package now practically late. If you've been answering the letters (and with truth) all along, you'll never see one of these. If not, the third letter is probably going to be telling you that unless something happens immediately, you'll be dropped and your sender and your receiver will be rematched when we do the next batch of matches (which happens towards the end of each month). So now you all know the levels of trouble. And know as long as you're keeping up your end of things and/or communicating any problems with us and answering whatever dun letters you might get (even if you just wrote us yesterday about it), you're in fine shape. ========================================================================= Janet Detter Margul | Real women don't have hot flashes... I tried this and really didn't have a lot of luck with it. I thought at first it was because of city water, chlorination, that type of thing... but even buying the bottled spring water from Publix didn't seem to help. However... in experimenting... I left the pan of water I was working with outside back in January, and ... the answer for making this process work for me was there! The water had frozen, in one of our few really cold spells here in Florida, and the pigment inked images that just kept breaking up on the surface of the water as I stamped had taken form again at the very bottom of the pan. I found that by heating the pan ever so slightly and tipping the ice out onto another surface, upside down ... my images were there in all their glory finely stamped in every detail. My only problem with this method of water stamping is... the stampings are backwards! Not a big problem with images, but I'm still trying to figure out what "!deniatretne ylisea ew t'nera dna snat eseht evah nac ew taht nuf ti t'nsI" says... Any help you can give on this, Cindy... I would really appreciate! I LOVE this method of stamping! Ellen :}> Evo At 01:57 PM 8/8/97 -0500, cindy_piet@juno.com wrote: >I saved this from the last time it was posted. He will be going into emergency surgery any minute now. My husband is at the hospital with his mom. Ask God to be merciful- not necessarily to "save" his life. He is terminally ill amd is ready to die, but they couldn't let this problem go- too painful, the hernia has twisted. thanks to all of you for being here!
