I wanted to let you all know that I may not be posting too much for a while, especially my normal chit chat in private posts to you. I have been having a lot of trouble with my arthritis for the past few weeks. It's sever in my hands, especially, and typing is hard for me to do. It hurts so much that stamping is unbearable! I went to the Dr on Tues and he did tests for rheumatoid arthritis and fibromyalgia...he's pretty sure I have both...the fibromyalgia is only in my arms, we think. He gave me meds to try...so far they aren't helping much,,may take a few more days to build up in my system (?). I'm also trying some E'ola products that are made to relieve arthritis and muscle pain and inflamation. This pain has made me very depressed. Well, the pain and the prospects of what the future could hold for me. I know there are others of you out there with the same things, espiacially Suki, whom I have already heard from. Does anyone have anything to help? (ideas). Please post to me privately so as to not clutter up teh list. Right now a flame would be more that I could take, although the 'heat' might make these old joints feel better....although they are only 45!! A few prayers would be appreciated, TIA. How do you all manage??? You would think so if it permanent ink. Does anyone know how to get it off if it does stain. Hi, I have used regular RS cleaner (PSX) to get perm. ink off. And it worked fine. I have used it both before the ink dries and after. Of course, before it dries is easier. It took several tries to get it all off after it had dried. Elbow grease and an old tooth brush helped too. I cut out different color and size hearts from construction paper. We used a nice organic looking with red fibers grey colored postcard size (4.25x5.5) cardstock with hearts corner punched from one corner. She had a ball with the gluestick and the hearts. We glued them randomly (is there any other way with an almost 2 year old?? ) all over the card. I then put down a big dab of Elmer's glue and we stuck metallic red shredds in that... and all over the kitchen. On top of the rest of the glue blob we stuck a little heart shaped lace doiley. I made the doily's by cutting a 3" doiley into 6 pieces. The lace edges were just perfect for heart lobes. I did the stamping part on the back... We tried to have her help with that part but there was more ink on her hands than the stamp! LOL! Not to mention the illegible smudges. I used the PSX word stamp "May all your Dreams Come True" (couldn't find my Happy V-D stamp among the boxes :( ) and the Love, Alexanna stamp underneath that. I used one of my Kaleidacolor pads with the reds and pinks on it. Then I stamped a little handmade stamp and wrote 2/97 in the center. I just found my JudiKins Individually hand crafted work of art smudges are intentional stamp so I'll stamp that on the back too tonight! For her teacher we decorated a little heart shaped paper basket filled with candy & shredds and a ribbon handle the same way. Tonight we'll decorate the envelopes with red and blue crayons and markers put the cards in them with some hearts from the corner punch & extra metallic confetti. Bet the teacher *loves* us tomorrow with all that confetti! ;) The kids sure will! LOL! It even has a special "notch" to guide your exacto knife. It is called "The Cutting Guard" and is made by DAG DESIGN 1810 14th St. Santa Monica CA 90404. I got mine at the local stamp store (last one on the shelf) for about $10. It seemed kind of expensive, but after using it for the last couple of weeks, I've decided it is worth every penny. Sandy Kavanagh cream card stamped randomly with hearts, layered on this black, pink and then cream card on top of which is a rabbit with proclamation, inside Her Highness, really great Sandy where is the rabbit from please? Pam Knutson green marbled card with white card layered at an angle this is stamped with swirls and in the middle Alice holding on to a queens robes. On the large card 4 Alice in Wonderland images at the corners.I love the effect Pam. Nelda Costner, Black and white card of Alice and the mad hatter in a bed, on the wall behind them sit various other images, I love B& W. Lastly my very favouritest(GG) of them all. Suzanne Owen you are so talented, this card is incredible. A dark green card, layered on top is green/gold/cranberry striped paper. On top of this green speckley paper with 3d vinyl and to top it Alice opening a door. The effect is so lifelike. But theres more, inside blue layer then cream, more 3d vinyl over an image of the mad hatter and rabbit. The different effects of the 3d vinyl being firstly under then overan image is wonderful. I also use marvy markers to color in the images. The only catch with the markers is that you have to emboss over the areas you have used the markers on. You can do this because the markers won't dry on the hard glass surface. I discovered the marker technique when I needed yellow glass paint and didn't have any. I will do anything in a pinch.
