Non Sequitur images are some of my favorites, so loved this swap. I believe all the cards have been described previously so I'll do the abbreviated version on the cards. Cynthia Sillitoe - Grave Tidings and a skull embossed in black on orange card stock; would make a great Halloween card. Kristine Ernst - An awesome nude woman (love the nude images from Non Sequitur) laying on a bed surrounded by bamboos with two beautiful windows (Evolving Images) in the background. Kristine has done a fab job of sponging the wall (background) on this card. This card almost has a surreal look to it; love it. Linda Sobolewski - This is a very large image of a woman in a boat surrounded by crashing waves and gulls. Linda's done a very nice job of coloring this image (and we all know how important coloring is), used a deckle edge and then mounted on burgundy cardstock. Stampcas - The large tippy toe node embossed in gold on a red columnar cardstock. She is reaching up to catch a falling star and is standing on gold sand; ooh laa laa. The red cardstock is mounted on beautiful gold paper and inside it says *Shoot for the moon . . .* Beautiful; need I say more. Anonymous - Used the same moon moth image that I used. This image is brayered on with black and then sponged in with pinks, purples; incredible. This image is then layered on turquoise cardstock, then fuchsia with a gold edge and then on black. I'll be trying this with my image; thanks for the idea. Who are you? Want to give you credit for this beauty. Thanks everyone for the great cards; thoroughly enjoyed the swap. Sigh. I wouldn't know. A couple of years ago my daughter got me to promise
to boycott grapes with her (combination of working conditions, breast
cancer-causing pesticides being used, I forget all the issues)... and she
won't let me eat grapes to this very day. Frank either, and she keeps tabs
on his grape consumption across the miles. He just asked for "grape
liberation" the other day and his request was denied. (Her dad, on the
other hand, has a thick layer of grape stems on the floor of his car from
cheating while driving.)

She will allow French wine to be consumed, grapes picked in France are
beyond her boycott. So I can tell you a glass of French wine DOES make
anything better, even hot flashes.

Life is rough when you live with a social conscience in addition to your
own. Trust me on this one.

The package arrived without any problems. So many times when a swap comes we look at the cards and may decide to send some on to Newbies. Well not with this swap - each and everyone is a keeper. Cindy - a little boy standing on a stool reaches for a luscious piece of cherry pie on a table way over his head - the use of stamps to get perfect perspective is awsome. Always wondered what one was to do with that big table. Wonderful job Cindy. Carlene Czarnik - the PSX apple square is stamped and embossed with a matte black ep (can you tell me the brand?) Carlene you did a real nice job of coloring both the apple and apple blossoms. This was then mounted on deep red card stock and using 4 photo corners was layered onto a golden tan card stock - a very striking card. Anonymous - black chekerboard frame around a branch full of red apples - mounted onto black card stock - on the front in white is embossed Happy Birthday. Personally - this is to nice to send! Michelle Oakley - on tan card stock Michelle stamped a variety of what appear to be wood cut vegtables - have to know who makes them. Really like the simplicity of this card - a nice use of colors and arrangement of the vegetables. Suzanne Owen - a multilayered card - start with deep green linen card. On this is a piece of cream and green lined paper. Two pieces of avacado colored paper are next - the larger piece is stamped with Stampington's fruit and veg saying stamp. On this is layered an oval containing 3 pea pods. On the other Suzanne colored, cut out and layered strawberries, a pear and watermelon. Inside is the wonderful statement that "I didn't claw my way to the top of the food chain to eat vegetables". Suzanne - what is the lined paper you used on the front? Thanks to everyone for the cards Winabeth Stamp Lover This message was from wsmith12@juno.com (Winabeth L Smith) - -- The rubberstampers mailing list is proudly sponsored by the Dueling Modems Arts & Crafts Forum. I will say I think we all outdid ourselves and this is one swap where each and every card will be displayed on the walls of my stamp room. Nan - thank you for thinking of and hostessing this swap. I will now attempt to describe the cards I recieved but to be honest - words won't do any of them justice - this is one swap which really needs to be seen. Janice Stanford - on petal paper a black ribbon ties on a brown corregated paper. On top of this is layered a card with 5 sections - stamped from top left clockwise - From the heart, a flower and watering can, a birdhouse and rose bud, and Angel ceramic button tied with thread, a heart. Inside a wonderful saying. Janice this is such a soft, wonderful card to look at. Already deciding just where to hang it. Rosie Claeys - on soft mauve cardstock is layered a deep blue lightly textured card - corners cut with Fisker's scissors. On this are 3 squares done in purple, light pink and mauve ink. On each is placed a raised heart. A gold elastic thread accompanied the card - on the end were tied 3 heart shaped beads. Rosie - my thread was loose from the card - could you describe just how it should be? A.M. Lewis - a shaker card stamped with pears, oranges and cherries on the front and back. In the window were fruit shaped candies. The outside edge of the card and the inside edge of the shaker window were trimed in gold ribbon - a bright sunny card and a fun one to look at. Anonymous - a pop up card - I MUST HAVE THIS PATTERN - so if this was your card and you are reading this could you please contact me so we can talk about a swap of patterns. Any way the card was decortaed with sunflowers and lady bugs with a large center section which says "you make me smile" A clay ladybug sits at the top of the card - a talented person made the ladybug to exactly match the stamp she used. A great card. And from Nan - our hostess - a double picture frame - edges stamped in soft pastel colors and she used stars, suns, flowers, swirls and abstract person. The embellishements were 3 charms. One side is left blank so we can all add a picture - the other side is a quote from Goethe "Nothing is worth more than this day". Nan - what a wonderful gift to all of us and one that I will cherish. Now to find just the right picture and to hang it in my stamp room to look at and inspire me. Thanks again for all the wonderful cards. I put everything that was by the front door in the car.. and he goes oh, well the suitcases were on the kitchen table and I go whydahuh?? were they THERE?? and if you PUT them there, whydaheck didn't you put 'em in the car???) so the kid that planned for herself and saw her own stuff into the car was the only one of us that didn't get new clothes on that trip.. negative reinforcement if I ever saw such.. was funny.. we went home for the weekend, and my folks were outta town, so we let ourselves in the house with our absence of luggage and there was a note on the table, see you in the morning, make yourselves at home. so we did, made ourselves at home in their clothes in fact, for the night, then headed out in the morning to buy 3 of us a weekend worth of clothing, so they got home and found a note on the table tellin' them we'd made ourselves more at home than they probably expected, and once we'd outfitted ourselves, we'd be back and see 'em then! rofl! anno This message was from "anno" - -- The rubberstampers mailing list is proudly sponsored by the Dueling Modems Arts & Crafts Forum. It is great and easy to use! Also for vendors who list urls I can click and the browser automatically opens so I view the site! The address book is killer! I have managed to convert some on this list to upgrade and now I am working on you! Also you can set up profiles on Comunnicator: if there is more than one email user you can set that persons email preferences and bookmarks. It is KEWL! She was hiding them, playing around, etc. and the next morning we forgot to 'find' them (the blankets, the doll wasn't forgotten). Anyway, we realized it about 200 miles down the road, and stopped and called the motel. No one else had checked into the room yet, but the blankets were gone. So it had to have been the maid - or at least that's what the owner told us. She felt bad, but could not prove anything. One was a handmade blanket that went with her crib set, the other a well loved plain old white one. If we could've replaced them, it wouldn't have been a big deal - but a child's blankets - pretty low to me! I cannot believe you. Steven immediately took off with the Power Ranger Material. Some of this fabric, I was actually looking at today in the store. Looks to me like you have done quite a bit of fabric painting yourself. And all that fabric paint, their was a total of 16 bottles of this paint. I want to make Steven a shirt out of that fabric that has the little black dog on it a red plaid bow, looks sorta like a Scottish dog, and it has the little paw prints around on the cloth. That will make a cute shirt for a little boy. Thanks so much Grandma! Your spoiling me. Piglet! And last of my terrific mail day was a card from no other than Ant Judy all the way from Canada. First of all, I could not figure out why the envelope was so thick, but I found out when I opened it up. Inside was not only a postcard, but a 2 page, yes a 2 page letter from Ant Judy. I feel so honored to receive a 2 page letter from her telling me about her life and interests. I thoroughly enjoyed every word of it. Now back to the card, it is a green cardstock that is textured, and I'm not sure what it's called and on top of this cardstock is a piece of brown corrugated cardboard and layered on top of this, she has a scene of a town/village with house and roads and trees and hot air balloons in the sky, and she has it cut in 3 separate pieces and glued just a little bit apart from each other. It's kinda like those paintings you see where 3 pictures make up the whole picture. Ant Judy, is this a rollagraph too? That is just too darn neat. And on her 2 page letter on the side, she rollagraphed sea shells the whole length of the paper, but I'm not sure how she did the blue background underneath the shells, is this some sponging? And across the top of the page is her ants, lol and also some ants by her signature line. She also rollagraphed on the envelope and yes a little ant on it too. Ant Judy, Thank you so much, I'm glad I had the opportunity to get to know you alot better, I cannot believe that we actually bumped heads when I first came on the list. You are truly a sweetheart.
