I've been trying to find a common thread of "suckiness" here, but can't. Best I can say is that some just miss the mark by a tad, some are slightly tacky looking, and one is an absolute hoot! From no name: On glossy white, a happy birthday square, with cake and candles in the middle, embossed in black and colored in oranges, blues, pinks, yellows, with balloons stamped around the square and colored and embossed in clear. The idea seems fine, the colors, .... Cathy Schadler : on textured grey, the MOMR ballerina jewel box is brightly colored in hot pink and insipid pink. The jewel box is layered on a white round paper doily. At the bottom edge of the doily are two magenta rosebuds that appear to be holo stickers. The card was in a clear envy and LOADED with red heart confetti . Well this may be tacky, but it's done for me what the madeleines did for Proust. I had one just like the one on Cathy's card, when I was 10--a VERY long time ago. Penelope Lincoln: On glossy white, PeeWee Herman is stamped in several colors. A word balloon says, "You don't expect me to take my clothes off, do you?" That is embossed in a pearlized light blue and is barely legible. Definitely understated . The background is a very unusual stippled effect that has been partially embossed and looks like bread mold. Another no name: Gold card which was stamped with a row of candles, which might have been Marvied, then embossed in clear. This would have been really striking but the colors only show up well when the card is held at certain angles. On the inside is stamped Happy Birthday. Elizabeth: And last, but certainly not least! On white glossy, the VLVS rear of the overweight lady bending over, stamped in black and colored, a shapely chick in a bathing suit , also colored, and several kissy lips. The rear-view lady says, "Bitch" in the bathing beauty's direction. HOWL! Boy did I need a laugh today...and I got one. Thanks to Carol Perry for hosting this one. The cards from the This Card Sucks Swap arrived today.

Cathy Schadler : on textured grey, the MOMR ballerina jewel box is brightly colored in hot pink and insipid pink<G>.  The jewel box is layered on a white round paper doily.  At the bottom edge of the doily are two magenta rosebuds that appear to be holo stickers.  The card was in a clear envy and LOADED with  red heart confetti <which I'm still picking out of my lap>.  Well this may be tacky, but it's done for me what the madeleines did for Proust.   I had one just like the one on Cathy's card, when I was 10--a VERY long time ago<roflmaoapotf>.

Penelope Lincoln:  On glossy white, PeeWee Herman is stamped in several colors.  A word balloon says, "You don't expect me to take my clothes off, do you?"  That is embossed in a pearlized light blue and is barely legible.  Definitely understated <LOL>.

Elizabeth:  And last, but certainly not least!<BG> On white glossy, the VLVS rear of the overweight lady bending over, stamped in black and colored, a shapely chick in a bathing suit <looks like a young Ann-Margret>, also colored, and several kissy lips.  The rear-view lady says, "Bitch" in the bathing beauty's direction.  HOWL!

Boy did I need a laugh today...and I got one.  Thanks to Carol Perry for hosting this one.  IMNSHO, I don't think any of these cards really sucks.

Recipes should be done on an 8 1/2 x 11" sheet of paper, with sufficient room at the top and sides in case people would like to attach the pages or put in a 3 ring binder. Some type of rubberstamp design on the page, simple or elaborate - it's up to you! It has been suggested that we use categories, so if you'd like to submit more than one recipe and they are not in the same category (i.e. cookies, cakes, desserts, main dishes, salads, etc.) it would be nice if you did up pages for each. Please feel free to submit as many recipes as you'd like! And if you would like to put some notes about the recipe, like why it is a family favorite, or one handed down thru your family, please do! And please, please, include your name and email addy on the page somewhere - in case there is a question about your recipe. If there are specific altitude directions, fat-free alternatives, etc. please list those too! And if you have any other suggestions, I would love to hear them! All the background material I had for sale is gone now except for 12 sheets and I'm sure those won't sit here for too much longer. After cutting up the roll, I am left with some strips--25 to be exact--measuring 3X11 or so that I hate to throw away. The first person to email me saying they want them can have them for the $3 priority mail charge. So if anyone wants them--they are yours for $3--the cost to mail them. I'm waiting. And thanks to all who ordered the 8 1/2 X 11 sheets. I can't find my recipe and looked on every package of chocolate chips at the grocery store and couldn't find it there either! So, can someone e-mail me the Magic bars recipe? It's the one with the graham cracker crumb crust, chocolate chips, coconut, condensed milk and pecans. I want to make these for my Stampin Up party on Saturday and my family reunion on Sunday. Thank you SS. I also received the card with the cute little UM fish on it. Cute idea!! The heron with the feather is priceless. I love that stamp (hint) I have a friend in Fla. that has heron etched in the glass on the door. I would love to do that for him. Please do not apologize. Your presentation more than makes up for what you say is "cash poor". Your handiwork is absolutely stunning!! I am more than pleased ... I am happy. Just one complaint..... Where are the patterns for the octagon box and the postcards, note cards and folio? I have the scissors you used to cut the edges (Fiskars) Wallpaper strips are great idea. Please send instructions. I am easy to please. :)) Let me make you jealous piece by piece..... Wrapped in white tissue paper is an oval "frame" by Stamp Affair. It has two doves and two roses. This will definitely be used a lot. Tissue paper will be used for candles... There was a little card stamped with another two frames, and inside was 2 UM of the frames. Excellent idea. Wrapped in tissue paper stamped with "It's tea time" and embossed "cups of tea" is a box of 20 tea bags (Raspberry Zinger, Strawberry Kiwi, Mandarin Orange Spice, Country Peach Passion, and Wild Cherry Blackberry). This was tied with ribbon that has 2 tea roses on it. Definitely will drink these. I like different teas. Also included was some sheets of wallpaper wrapped with a wide "ribbon" and raffia and 9 strips of wide border paper. She is aware of my love for the sea and included was two beautiful strips of shells with sand dollars on them. I'd love to do a wall in that (mauve, grey, peach). In my "stationery pack" were two note cards in peach with a strip of wallpaper on them, and stamped with sea life. Really elegant. The folio is tied with ribbon that has two cutout scallops attached. There are stickers for me to close the envelopes, and stickers for me to use as address labels. On the other side of the folio were orange postcards (1 stamped on the front and 5 unstamped). I guess these are for me to mess up. How'd you round the corners? There were an additional 10 note cards and envelopes for me to stamp and mail. The are so pretty that I'm hesitant about mailing, but guess I cannot continue to horde. I MUST SHARE WITH THE WORLD.... Jealous yet? I also received a 6 sided box made of matching wallpaper and in it was 4 kinds of embossing powder ( pastel peach, evergreen, magenta, and pastel yellow), five sponge wedges, and a glue stick. Along with this was another note for me to stamp something and send it. This was done in calligraphy? Who is known for her calligraphy? And last, but not least a large wallpaper envelope with some "peel n stick" ten little strips of wallpaper for me to put on my 10 note cards, some corrugated paper to wrap something, and 4 um worded sayings. I have a corrugator also. It makes pretty paper. Sorry, but I'm not into gardening. I don't seem to have the time. I apologize for not posting sooner, but I now have 6723 messages to wade through. SS, Thank you for the cards, and the emails. THE PACKAGE WAS DEFINITELY WORTH THE WAIT.
