I was so thrilled with all the cards that I received. from Sherry- "Friednship is the Wine of Life" scene with wine and grapes embossed in black and beautifully colored in. This is stamped on vellum which is layerd onto a plum cardstock. My favorite color! from Julienne Buchko - a strawberry basket stamped on glossy cardstock. The basket is highlighted with liquid applique and the berries are coated with Dimensional Magic. Together these create such depth! Really neat effect! from Deb Braun - a clcok stamped in plum and gold with the gold slightly offset from the plum. This really adds dimension. This is on torn white paper edged with gold. This is layered onto a black square and then onto a crinkled background paper that appears to be wrapping paper(?) Really interesting. All this is then on a black postcard. An elegant card. from Beth - sea shells stamped in blue and aqua on a white cardstock with blue polka dots. This is edged in deckle scissors and layered diagonally across blue striped paper. I really like the positioning. This is something I am still learning about. All this is layered on a large white textured cardstock. Very pretty, especially for summer. from Kimberlee Dick - a triangle card with roses stamped in black on red cardstock. Then another rose is embossed in sliver and colored in. This is cut out and layered on the red background. This beautiful card is wrapped in 2 circles of vellum with confetti between the layers. The edges of the circles fold over into a triangle and are sealed with a sticker. Very unique. I have to try this! All the cards were great! Thank you all for participating and thank you Terrie for hostessing. Hi Terrie... No sooner did I ask if you if my cards were sent that I received them today! Thank you again for hosting....I had a lot of fun and am happy to hear that people are receiving my cards, too! The cards I received were: 1. Julienne Buchko - glossy card stock with a basket stamped in the front with strawberries in it and lacquered, too. Inside says, "May your day be as special as you are to me." What a nice saying that is! Thank you Julienne. 2. Jhone Messinger-Dickson - Jhone we were in another swap together....the other newbie swap? You made a box in that one? So nice to see another card from you. Oatmeal card stock deckled with victorian scissors with the edge embossed with black. On black mulberry paper is two gold hearts stamped upside down. Thanks for your explanation Jhone. I thought I was going blind!!!! Also had beads strung and hung from one of the hearts!!! 3. Kimberlee Dick - Hi Kimberlee....I sent you a get well card a while back...it's me, Shoko! I hope you are feeling better. Her card was on duplex paper red and white on the inside. A heart stamp was stamped in black on the red and then embossed and cut out and placed in the center. It says on the back, "This Special Little Card Comes Your Way...Stamped With Love to Bright Your Day!" Thanks Kimberlee! 4. Yazdel - On a burgundy card stock....layered with a mustard colored mulberry with a vanilla colored other card stock with a scarecrow in the middle of a garden. On this same paper the corners are stamped with a corner design. Inside says, "In the Garden of Life Friends are the Flowers." She stamped that on a separate piece of creme colored paper that was inserted into the inside of the card. I like this saying, too! Was this from PSX, too? 5. Maureen Rinksi - A girl after my own heart. I love San Francisco. One of my favorite cities to go and visit. She stamped the Golden Gate Bridge on a dark red colored card stock and embossed it in gold. It is outlined with another piece of gold card stock that is glued on to a a glossy piece of white card stock. Inside says "Happy Birthday." I'm an Administrative Asst./Secretary/Whatever you want to call it for a Director of a large oil and gas company. We've gone through numerous reorganzations and until about a month ago had a manager in my group named Jeff. Super nice guy and whenever he was away from his desk, his phone rolled to my line. I've never met his wife, but she was always delightful on the phone. Jeff was always impressed with all the stamps I keep in my office and all the cards I have posted on my *wall of honor* at work. He'd told me Kathie, his wife, enjoyed crafts and make a lot of magnets. After Jeff left my group, he stopped by to tell me how much he enjoyed working with me and that he and Kathie would miss me. I thought that was very sweet. This afternoon Jeff called and asked if I would be at my desk for a few minutes. He said he had something for me. I said *sure*, thinking it was probably an old invoice to process or something. When he walked up, he handed me a beautiful handmade navy box with a yellow ribbon. I know I looked totally shocked and asked if I could open it now. He said *of course, Kathie thought you would enjoy this*. Inside this box wrapped in tissue paper were six of the floral stamps from True Nature Rubber Stamps. You know, the ones that actually have dried flowers embedded in clear plastic resin. I know I just stammered repeatedly that I could not believe this gift. He just chuckled and said he had never worked with anyone who enjoyed people as much as I and loved life so much. He said when his wife was sick several months ago and I had made her a card, she was as pleased and surprised as I was today. And he said Kathie told him I always seemed genuinely pleased to talk to her. Is this not the neatest thing? I'm still shocked and can't wipe the smile from my face.
