Then it just didn't quite make it. It didn't get hot enough. Since I really love the thick plastic, I finally broke down and bought an industrial strength laminator and paid too much :-\ not that it's not worth it, it's just that it was pricey for me. On the old machine I had to run the plastic through quite a few times to get rid of all the bubbles. But I used it for 3 years so I guess I got my money's worth! Don't you just love vellum? Thank-you to the host of this swap. HappyAcre created a delicate look with her white card stamped with one of my favorite stamps, the Halos heart stamped in white embossed and colored in from behind the flowers and leaves that form this heart. She also added delicate dry embossed dots on the vellum. And you know how everyone says the glue shows when you glue down vellum, this is glued and I challange anyone to find the glue marks, there are none, the vellum has been delicately edged and the bottom of the card is edged also. Very beautiful work. Deni's card is white linen with the vellum on top, attached with a pink ribbon tied into a bow. She white ink embossed two purple butterflies hovering over pink flowers. A very DeNami look to the stamps, colored behind and then delicate touches of sparkly fine glitter. Extremely lovely! Kimberlee's card has put confetti in my car, but do I care, no!! I could see the confetti coming through the vellum envelope pouch that she made and sealed with a small sticker. A gorgeous stamp Friendship is the Wine of Life. (how true)has wine bottle, glasses and grapes and vines embossed in gold on fine vellum and colored in behind, layered on a white fancy cut card and then onto a violet fancy edged card. Even the stamped verse makes you smile again, "This special little card comes your way. . . stamped with love, to brighten your day." It certainly brightened my day! A special card. Maren created an elegant card by embossed copper leaves on vellum and colored them in back in orange, red, yellow and brown. They dance across the front of the card, but through the vellum you can see a forest of trees with bare branches! The verse Best Wishes for a Bountiful Season! A very elegant card, beautifully done. (and again, I don't see glue on any of these cards!) A very lovely card by Dellmenc hope that I am crediting the name correctly as alot of work went into this card!! A sage green card, a white card layered on top with the word stamp of the names of all the flowers, then vellum on top of that. The vellum that went on top has been subtly rainbowed with soft colors, pink, yellow, green , just eye-catching loveliness, a sun flower stamp has been embossed in white and colored behind and on a slant on the top right side of the card two holes have punched to tie it together with a gold rafia bow! A masterpeice!1 All the cards showed so much talent and caring, they will make me smile all the day!! Thank-you all!!!! She had gone to see Love Me Tender, so when another Elvis movie was playing at our only theater, she asked me if I would mind taking her to the matinee. She was the only grandmaand looked like a grandma! I didn't mind taking her. However, the movie was Jailhouse Rock, not exactly Love Me Tender!!lol Grandma would play Are you Lonesome Tonight, and set it up so it played over and over and I remember tiptoeing down the stairs to set the record player so that it would quit playing--just to tease her. And she would say I suppose I am driving you crazy!! Stamperella This message was from Stamperella - -- The rubberstampers mailing list is proudly sponsored by the Dueling Modems Arts & Crafts Forum. AGO What were you doing 20 yrs. ago today? Do you remember where you were and what you were doing when you heard? 20 yrs ago I was in North Carolina, living in a mobile home. I was 22 yrs old and had been married for just 2 & a half yrs. My hubby was stationed at the Marine base in Jacksonville. My oldest son was almost 5 months old. I can remember that day like it was yesterday. I was never a major fan of Elvis but I did like his music a great deal and I too cried when I heard the news..
