Stick your open palm under the stall wall and ask your neighbor, "May I borrow a highlighter?" 2. Say, "Uh oh, I knew I shouldn't have put my lips on that." 3. Cheer and clap loudly every time somebody breaks the silence with a bodily function noise. 4. Say, "Damn, this water's cold." 5. Drop a marble and say, "Oh shit! My glass eye!" 6. Say, "Hmmm, I've never seen that color before." 7. Grunt and strain real loud for 30 seconds and then drop a cantelope into the toilet bowl from a height of 6 feet. Sigh relaxingly. 8. Say, "Now how did that get there?" 9. Say, "Humus. Reminds me of humus." 10. Fill up a large flask with Mountain Dew. Squirt it erratically under the stall walls of your neighbors while yelling, "Whoa! Easy boy!" 11. Say, "Interesting... more floaters than sinkers." 12. Using a small squeeze tube, spread peanut butter on a wad of toilet paper and drop the wad under the stall wall of your neighbor. Then say, "Whoops, could you kick that back over here please?" 13. Say, "C'mon Mr. Happy! Don't fall asleep on me." 14. Fill a balloon with creamed corn. Rush into the stall with your hand over your mouth and let out a lengthy vomit impression while you squeeze the balloon and splatter cream corn all about. Apologize profusely and blame it on the fettucine alfredo you had for breakfast. 15. Say, "Boy, that sure looks like a maggot." 16. Say, "Damn, I knew that drain hole was a little too small. Now what am I gonna do?" 17. Play a well known drum cadence over and over again on your butt cheeks. 18. Before you unroll toilet paper, conspicuously lay down your "Cross-Dressers Anonymous" newsletter on the floor visible to the adjacent stall. 19. Lower a small mirror underneath the stall wall, adjust it so you can see your neighbor and say, "Peek-a-boo!" 20. Drop a D-cup bra on the floor under the stall wall and sing "Born Free". It finally came! Excellent swap--Deni thanks for hostessing and for the extra little card in the pachage, what cool paper! I received cards from: Ms. Amaretto(Lori Gilbert)--She stamped the PSX horse petroglyph in a light tan (almost apricot) ink on natural or home-made paper which is torn out. She covered an entire piece of light brownish-orange paper with embossing ink and embossed it with some sandy-looking powder. The paper with the horse is layered on top of the embossed paper, and the whole thing is layered on a dark reddish-brown card. The embossed background is a great idea! This one is unsigned--it's a collage on tan cardstock, which includes a number of tribal and petroglyph images. I recognize 2 of Laurel Burch's tribal masks, and an Inkums petroglyph stamp. Other elements include a cloth scrap, some neat paper, and a postage stamp. This is a neat collage, wish I knew who did it! Tina Starling did a simple but very effective card. She stamped a large African-looking mask by Judikins on black paper and embossed it with an EP that gives it a subtle metallic appearance. this is layered on a square of corrugated dark orange paper and a bit of burlap, and all of that is on a light brown card that has been spattered with gold or copper ink (can't tell if it was copper to start with or the color of the card makes it look copper). Inside is a saying that sounds almost like a grace-before-meals prayer, from Rubberstiltskin. Beautiful card! SarahM used the large 4-women stamp from PSX and emobossed it in terracotta tapestry powder, which works really well with the stamp. She kept it simple and highlighted with just a few colors in marker. I love this stamp and it just reminds me that I need to get it some day! Sandi Marr has really effective layering in her card. She started with dark brown cardstock and added a layer of black textured card (taht texture that looks like marble), followed by a layer of dark gray. The gray card has been stamped with a swirly petroglyph and embossed (black). The topmost layer has the coolest touch--it's a snake, antelope and bear all stamped and embossed in black--on SANDPAPER. Neato! The sandpaper has been torn out and layered on the other 3 layers. It really looks like the petroglyphs are on some kind of rock! Beautiful cards--Deni thanks for a great swap! For example, a set of hearts for work to remind you that work is not everything. That's where mine is. But, if I remember correctly I had one third of the string hanging with the hearts to the left of the top heart and the end wrapped to the the middle heart to the right. I used this method for the brayer swap.... I used vivid black to brayer over the colors. I was working on card stock, definitely not coated. I used a dye based rainbow, can't remember which one right now. I was quite pleased with the intensity of the color, but had some strange things happening when I wiped the vivid black off of the clear EP. In some spots, the ep sorta ran together so the image was blurred. It added an interesting effect since I was using a leaf stamp, but I couldn't figure out why it was happening.... - --------------------------------- From: Susanne haggett@students.uiuc.edu I discovered that this technique was stunning at 9 pm and oring at 9am...when I had just finished stamping, brayering, etc., the colors were so vibrant against the black - such a dramatic look! The next morning, after the black ink had had time to dry to a dull, dark gray, well, it just wasn't the same. I tried coating with Krylon Crystal Clear, to no avail.I used a black Marvy pad....is this where we have that conversation again about "How black is your black inkpad?"? - ---------------------------- This message was from GGMCCOR@aol.com I find that blacks in general turn grayish on glossy. I tried the "Joseph's Coat" technique on regular matte stock and really liked the effect. The black stayed black and the shiny bright raised embossing was a nice contrast against the matte black. I also did a variety of pinks, lavenders and blues and brayered over that with violet; yellows, oranges and pinks under red, etc. This technique also works nicely if you sponge. Feathers - ---------------------------------- From: marilyn@fgi.net (Marilyn) I too better get out of the lurking mode, I tried the neon embossing with stampscape stamps and the calypso pad, then brayered over this with ultra marine vivid and the results were stunning. I do have a question though, on my test sample I used black but when I sprayed with a sealer the embossing started to peel off. Did I spray it to soon or is it the powder I used? I used ulta high gloss clear from VLVS. Has this happened to anyone else? TIA - --------------------------------- From: dgrady@sirius.com (Donna Grady) Last night I was playing around with the Josephs Coat technique and came across a slight variation to this wonderful technique. Some of you may already know and have done this but it was new to me so I will share how I did it. I took a bold image stamp (Fish from Posh Impressions) and stamped it on a color box rainbow pigment pad (the one with all shades of purples) and stamped it on white coated paper. I embossed with clear. Then I took a Kaleidacolor rainbow pad (Caribbean Sea I think it is called) and brayered this all over the background. This rainbow pad is all the green shades. Mounted this on blue paper 1/4" all around. Next I took another piece of paper a little bigger in size and stamped another kind of smaller fish all over using the same Kaleidacolor pad. I mounted this on chartreuse paper. Then I took the Josephs Coat stamped image already mounted on blue paper and mounted it on top of the little fishes paper. It came out pretty. It is new to me because up until this point I was only doing Josephs Coat with brayering a colorful rainbow background in dye in all over, then stamping an image in clear and embossing in clear (to have this background show through) then brayering all over with black or prussian blue. This way I just did allows you to have the image in one rainbow pad color and the background in another. Addressed to: rubberstampers@crafts.dm.net RubberTown@xmission.com SARA-L@HOME.EASE.LSOFT.COM Hi All, For those of you who played in the paper tole swap, I want to thank you all. The cards are great and, finally after 11 days the last package I expected arrived today. These will be swapped along with the rest of them. I never did receive a reply from Robyn who joined from Australia so I guess she has dropped. I will be sending a personal message to each of the players because someone is not currently subscribed to any of the lists and I don't remember who it is. This post is just a quick way to update any of you who are online. To let you know, everyone will receive a card from three people and the rest were swapped between the rest of you. When you post the card descriptions, and I sure hope you _all_ will, you'll know who sent enough to swap with everyone. ;) This was a great swap and I, personally, am happy with the creativity of all of you who played. The packages will be sent Priority mail to each of you, so look for them next week. I would appreciate it if you'd let me know your package arrived, Please! Thanks and HAPPY STAMPING!
