We did the normal tourist trip to the San Diego Zoo and i have to say the Hippos were my favorite. They are so cute... I did have the chance to go to three Rubber stamp stores while I was there. First was the Stamp Cellar in Rancho Bernando. Due to the silly UPS strike the shelves were sort of bare. I got some stamps and some great paper.... Then I went to JJ'S Stamping Grounds...let me tell you this is my kind of store. The gals who own and work there were just so nice (the way folks at RS stores should be)...We chatted about my upcoming trip to Iceland and they offered to mail me stuff. The have stamps there I have NEVER seen so needless to say I went alittle crazy here. It was so much fun and I recommend this store to anyone going to San Diego. They are actually located in Escondido but it's worth the drive. Then I visited Stamp Diego. Lots of nice stamps and such but I was not made to feel Welcome at this store. I enjoy chatting to others about Stampin Stuff and felt the folks who were working there just couldn't be bothered with me which was a shame because I was on vacation with money in my pocket just burning a hole....So I bought one stamp and left and guess where I went from there.......JJ'S Stamping Grounds. I preceded to spend every last penny I had and if I had brought a Credit Crad with me I probaly would have spent oodles and oodles more. So needless to say I have lots of new treasures to play with....I hope I didn't miss a lot of great stuff while I was gone.... I got a beautiful stamped card (I looove your cards), some see-thru envelopes, a roll of corrugated navy color paper, two rolls of floral print ribbon, four more little stamp pads (you are really expanding my rainbow of pads!), and some detail gold embossing powder. I also got some stamped envelopes for my personal use. They were stamped with one of those huge envelope/scenic stamps with spaces for the address and stamp that are made for envelopes. Don't know the real name cause I've never seen one before but they're great. I got my first roll of foil - one of the colors I would of picked and also got some 3-D lacquer to play with. My secret friend made me a decorated votive candle holder. It was decorated with hearts and covered with glitter. Not only that she sent me the directions and two blank candle holders so I could try it myself. To top all this off, I also got some stamps! I got a country type flower background stamp, another stamp that says "in the garden of life friends are the flowers", and a stamp of a sunflower seed package. The background is sponged with shades of blue, pink, peach, etc. Next is a layer of wallpaper with deckled edges in shades of mauves, blues and black; neat abstract print. From the four corners of the wallpaper is a diagonal line which is embossed and glittered with a very pretty shade of pink. Finally, over the wallpaper in one corner on pink paper with a pretty edge is *Stampers Know...You never get a second chance to make a good first impression.* Love it. Thanks Teresa for the very sweet card. Hope Dad is doing better.
