They were demonstrating Rubberama by Tulip, and I decided I'd go to Michaels next time I was out and check on this. Well, as usual, curiosity got the cat and I had to buy a handle and a stamp or two just to satisfy my curiosity. Put the glue on the handle and let it sit overnight. Today I picked up my Rubber Stampede Victorian Alphabet and found that, as well as being an ideal mount for small ums, I could line letters up so easily on the handle. Of that alphabet I can get 3 letters on at once and since my name is only 3 letters, I was thrilled to see I could linethings up without a positioner. An d now I've got to go find one of those compressed kneeling mats to make larger handles!!! And talking of positioners, I got one I love at the same store - It was only $11.00 and is made by a name something like Heitz or so on - not sure where the wrapping went but it is a plastic sheeting for stamping on, and the thick reversed L for positioning the stamp. And nice though it may be to have the arm swing stuff out of the way, I'm sorry but an extra $15 for that convenience is not in my wallet. I am perfectly capable of sliding that plastic sheet out of the way. I highly recommend this one, if you can find it in your store - comes in a clear plastic envelope about 5 by 5 or maybe 6 by 6. Its ground very finely and allows the detail to show beautifully. Jutta sells gold, black, silver and I believe copper and white at very good prices. Since you'll have to replace your gold eventually anyway, I advise just to go ahead and replace it with the fine line, and then when you fall in love with it, you'll get all the other colors too. Beth did an anniversary card with flowers on the front. It was elegant, just beautiful. I believe you used chalk on the flowers?? I got my chalk in today, and can't wait to try and see what I can do with these. Beth, I have lost so much mail lately, with crash after crash, and can't find your e-mail to write personally. Thanks for the great service with the chalk. I know it wasn't your fault that UPS delayed things. I was shocked to get a pkg today, couldn't remember ordering anything. It was a very pleasant surprise. I support your right to use whatever type of e-mail program you want and to format your mail anyway you like. I have to wonder, however, if you are writing e-mail to be read or just to play with your up to date program. While I can read your messages, many times they arrive in such a small print I don't bother. Given the responses you have received, it appears many will not make the extra effort necessary to read your posts. I don't agree that we all have to agree on one format or another. I believe you should be allowed to send messages in any format you want. You should be aware, however, that by doing so your messages may go unread by many. Hotel Rooms at the Banff Caribou Lodge are $72 Cdn. single or double plus applicable taxes. If we have 10 rooms booked, we also get the conference room for Stamping. Meals, accommodation and transportation (etc.) would be the individual's responsibility. We will hold informal "sharing classes" from 9:00-11:30 a.m., 1:30-4:00 p.m. and 7:00-9:30 p.m. each of the four days. Costs will simply be supplies. Topics will be decided before the event and it would be up to individuals whether they want to join us, or tour the beautiful Rocky Mountain Resort and surrounding area. Staying at the hotel would not be limited to May 22-25, for those who wished a longer holiday, but these dates would be the only days of stamping "classes". Anyone attending can suggest topics to be added to the agenda before May 15th, 1998. A wide assortment of stamps will be available for our use. Vacationing in Canada is a great 'deal' for those who live in the U.S. because of the vast difference between the U.S. and Canadian dollar. Right now you could probably get $1.38 Cdn for each $1 U.S. Even for those living in Canada, the hotel rates are excellent for two sharing a room. At the moment this is only a proposal and we would appreciate if those who are interested would contact Val (glenco@telusplanet.net) or LindaLoo (lindaloo@telusplanet.net) with any questions, comments or suggestions. More beautiful cards to add to my scrapbook!! From Penny: A blue cloud shaped card with a winged cherub. The cherub is holding another cloud which reads "It's a beautiful day to say..." The inside reads: "I think you're very special". Very nice sponging work with blue and gold. From Tammy Sue: On pink cardstock, a country angel sitting amongst stars. She is holding a pink foil heart. Her wings are cut out from the cardstock so they "stick out" giving the card a nice added dimension. From Kimberly Dick (the Hockey Widow): A watercolored victorian angel holding a glittery star. She is standing on a cloud of angel hair. Her robe is decorated with copper glitter and so is her halo. VERY elegant!! From Unknown: A cute country angel holding a basket of hearts and flowers. She is stamped in black on pink mulberry paper and mounted on blue cardstock. The corners of the card are rounded giving a nice finished look. From Unknown: An angel bookmark! 4 angel images stamped on various cardstocks then cut out and layered with mulberry paper on top of a black background. The background was also stamped in gold with the words "love love love" repeated.
