These ladies are so talented!!!!! A big thank you to Honey Comer who hostessed...she made up some stickers on her computer titled snail mail and koalaty mail. These are so Cute!! C. Saldana: (craftycks1) white cardstock, tree trunk (looks like from rubber stampede) and then she stamped light green and dark green branches and leaves all over the tree. Under the tree are flowers and bees, really small and cute (not sure what company) and then a Koala pop-dotted on part of the tree trunk like he was sitting under the tree. He has a big grin on his face. I love this card!! LindaLoo: glossy green cardstock, a circle cut in upper left corner where koala on tree peeks through from inside, embossed in copper and tree only colored with markers. On front of card it says: Thanks a Bunch and embossed in copper. On bottom cut out with fancy scissors, not sure which design and underneath on inside bottom is layered copper foiling. Beautiful Job. THis card is one of the most elegant I have seen in awhile and uses simple techniques. Gonna have to incorporate some of that in my own cardmaking. C. Saldana (craftycks1) Tan mottled cardstock with chocolate/gold candy wrapper layered on top. Then on top of that is white corrugated paper that has been gone over either with a primary multicolor pad or markers and then koala bear from Psx or Stampendous layered on top that says Recycle America and is carrying a stack of papers. Nice use of the candy wrapper and interesting idea. Teresa Durn: Koala Magnet...pink paper cut out with postoid scissors then blue layered on that then white whith the koala stamped on it saying Born to Shop and it is from Comotion. I love this magnet. Honey Comer: looks like a fimo made koala pin. The pin back was included but not glued, et al on the pin. I love this koala that has been stamped on this pin. Thank you, Honey. It will be a treasure. Thanks for listening to me ramble on...the board is slow this last couple of days. I guess because of the conventions and people going on last minute vacations. Yesterday, my DH took me to our county's only large arts and crafts emporium. While browsing and conspicuously consuming, I noticed the Berol Primacolor pencils on sale for $59.00. This is the box of 120, packed with a bonus book. This store also sells the pencils individually. Well, since I had never tried these pencils , I asked the salesperson if she had some sample pencils to test. She told me that I could take any of the loose ones, sharpen them, and then test them. I did and I bought them. When I got home, I immediately started to play. As Angelhrt and others have already described, the final effect of these pencils is additive. Well, since they're pretty impervious to water, I took my Studio 2 Blender Pen, and stroked over some of the areas where I wanted subtle shading, et voila...subtle shading. I also tried the Studio 2 Blender on some Derwent pastel pencil drawings and it did a rather nice job as well. Just my nickel's worth. Thurs my son cut his finger at school on a piece of metal. It was along the bottom edge of a bathroom wall-kind of like a "border on the bottom" kind of thing. Well, my hubby had to go pick him up as the nurse wanted a dr to look at it. He ended up w/5 stitches for a cost of $127. We found out fri that one of the asst prin. or councellor or someone had Nathan take him and show him where this happened. It turns out that the newly added bathroom had this metal sticking out instead of turning in towards the wall as it should and they were going to get someone out to fix it. Well, I feel they should have to pay for this dr visit because of this. Does anyone else agree? You must also know that we have had MANY problems w/this school. The principal wouldn't acknowledge phone calls or written msg from us in the past. We did battle w/band teacher all yr last yr. My hubby had it out w/a teacher in the office, this school gives DETENTION if you go to the bathroom! They won't call it det of course. They call it making up the time. Even though you sit in the room and do nothing. Same as detention. We brought this to the attention of the district, yet they basically called us liars-sorry to vent but I feel a little better now! donna joy This message was from Gary Joy - -- The rubberstampers mailing list is proudly sponsored by the Dueling Modems Arts & Crafts Forum.
