I will be checking on her later this afternoon/early evening and will let everyone know. Now it's time for me to go out and beat the bushes for a job. One of the best things about the new Rubberstamper magazine is the reader service card, and the best thing to come back from that to me was the Keyhole catalog. This is an unusual, beautifully produced catalog of unmounteds. She has great phrases (a few of which I absolutely can't live without), fantastic stamps of women, all kinds of unique patterns, hands making shadow pictures, and a good amount of knotwork for you Celt-o-philes (I know you are out there!) There aren't really any "Cute" designs. She is an angel company. She also gives instructions on mounting stamps, and sells scissors to make this easier. Grab bags are 20 dies for $10. The best thing about this catalog is that you get a free sample unmounted die of a Keyhole! Hi Shellie! CajunStamper will tell you that I'm the utmost authority on rules and regs....which she ignored and made oval shaped conventin pins anyway. To host a swap you must be nominated by a group of your peers. Your nomination will then go to a general vote at which you must be elected by unanimous decision to hold this prestigious position...which would be more impressive if I could spell it right. Should you fall short of your hosting responsibilities in any way and by anyone's standard, you will be skewered, placed on a rotisserie, and flamed beyond recognition. Any questions? Johnson" Date: Fri, 14 Feb 97 17:03:23 UT Subject: RS: Plain & Simple Swap Received I received the Plain & Simple Postcard Swap in the mail from delightful host StampinSis! Every "simply stamped" postcard I received was entirely different and gave me new inspiration in the use of color. StampinSis' large pink valentine, (almost like a big box of candy!), was stamped in a delicate darker pink and silvery sparkle EP and was layered on burgundy with the scalloped edges repeated on the outer edges of the cut-out image and the Victorian cut corners of the card. So very sweet! Pamela Moore used a large maple leaf stamped in pure green repeatedly on bright white paper layered onto bright yellow cardstock. The crisp feeling of the card is emphasized by the pinked edges on both papers - well planned & so effective! Ginger Tapia used a large image of a lovely pensive fairy on a mushroom. The cardstock is a subtle lavender (flecked with different fibers - I can't really describe it...) and the fairy is embossed in a darker lavender - very pretty monochromatic effect! An unsigned card featured a heart-shaped roses & ribbons wreath on a lightly speckled cream cardstock. The wreath was embossed in red sparkle (hot!!) and the ribbons colored a bright pink. It practically screams "be mine!"!! Stampcas sent a passionately kissing couple stamped in tobacco-brown on a decoratively-edged brown paper layered at a slight angle on white cardstock - the angle and the edging definitely sustains the emotion!! Thanks to all for the most beguiling cards!
